Man This is by far my favorite fighting game mainly because its diffrent it doesn't sport the health bars and 2D arcade style of gameplay. the hours i spent playing this for months! I can't wait for super smash bros. 4.
Personally, it seems to me that Brawl copies Melee for the most part, and the fighting system of the game is pretty simple to work with. Honestly, anyone who has played Melee will agree that Melee's Very hard mode was a lot harder than Brawl's Intense mode, right? The adventure mode seemed good to me, but it got old after playing through it once. Perhaps I should start making my own reviews. :?
Like Most People, i found brawl's lack of combo ability to be dissappointing. I'm hoping that the New SSB will have combo abilities seen in SSB64, the combo ability of Melee would be acceptable though

This game is a pretty ok game though. It doesnt suck, but it's not portable.(Unless you use homebrew, which i dont)If it was portable, i would be delighted. A ton of cool fighting games are out there, so broaden your horizon. I myself think that the 3DS is a great system for fighting games, wwith the advanced graphics and portability. Try out tekken, or street fighter if you arent just a nintendo fanboy, and like the fighting games genre in general, then try out the games.

yea brawl is what MADE the WII for me. being that there were no good games for it when it came out I was so frustrated but brawl was just so great it made up for an ENTIRE SYSTEM . still love and play the wii though but man best game of Nintendo by far. countless hours of great game play. due to that fact, its a 5 out of 5.

@JaysPlace20 try mortal kombat armeggedon. konquest mode, a lengthy story mode where people actually talk, 62 characters, 63 on the wii, and tons of awsome fighting and creative levels, plus you can make characters. and in the new mortal kombat, there is awsome dlc, cool characters, awsome levels, amazing fatalities, x-iting x-ray moves, babalitys where you turn your oponent into a baby, an epic story mode, and sexy chicks. you sir, know nothing of real fighting games.

Either way, the story in SSBB is quite lengthy and it's definitely more impressive to tell a complex story without full dialogue. You got me on the character roster (provided they all have their own move sets). Making characters would kinda go against the point of the SSB games. No comment on DLC. My real question is if you don't like this game why did you play it so much?

Even if he has completed all the single player stuff, it's still fun for multiplayer. Besides, Brawl supports up to 4 players and has a plethora of items, while Mortal Kombat is only 2 player and is just hand-to-hand. Either way, if he prefers Mortal Kombat now that's fine by me. That doesn't mean he has to start deliberately bashing Brawl just because he's moved away from it
@JaysPlace20 it was so easy to unlock everything in brawl provided you watched videos and used the methods i used while for melee i did not know the methods for unlocking everything plus in brawl the AI is so stupid and it is so easy to unlock everything while in melee it doesn't hold your hand the entire time.
@Lucarioknight95 I watched no videos to help me, and did almost everything on my own (barring Wolf; One of my friends found him). What these "methods" of which you speak? I'm pretty sure every character can be unlocked within the story of the adventure mode, but I unlocked some of them just completing classic mode or playing a certain number of hours. As for the AI, if anything they upped the anti on that one (or at least kept it the same). In no way does Brawl hold your hand
@Lucarioknight95 When you say you unlocked everything, that implies that you completed the adventure, found all the characters and stages, and collected every trophy (and technically every sticker, but I don't really count those). Not to mention there's classic mode, boss battles, all-star mode, event matches, etc. Besides all that the main attraction is the multiplayer which is always fun when playing with friends. My friends and I always have a great time with it. Btw, we're college students

I have this game, and its awesome. One of the best games to have for wii. In my opinion, I think its a perfect game to have since you can have fun for years with this game. I would give a 5/5, but that is my opinion. Link is also my favorite character to use, his awesome.
there was so many things you didn't mention like having a training mode or all star, the waiting room online, the differnet modes of doing brawl (eg. time, stock and coins with handicaps and other features to brawling) there was also no mention of being able to change what each button does. You never said about changing difficulty. No word about trophie shooter, hammers on challenges, and you didn't say that you could change the frequency on how often a certain track appears on a stage.
I wonder if Mr Sakura will ever create a Version of SSB where you can explore a 3D open world. That way people can play with more than just 4 characters and even Story-line can be played with friends online. With the new Wii U I hope the I-Net connection will be better and with better grafics, the game would be more than a must buy. :D

@mkocja5a I beg to differ. The games final smashes are somewhat unoriginal. Like for Ness and Lucas's Final Smash. What about PK Rockin from Earthbound? It would be perfect if Nintendo could find a way to make that Ness's Final Smash instead of PK Starstorm, Plus neither one of them even own that move from the Mother Series.

@SlamBolts I do. They promised so much with the online, but turned it into shit. It was 2008. It shouldnt be so fucking hard to get some sort of online mode that actually works instead of teasing us. Also because of Nintendo being complete dumbasses they chose to make the Wii a gamecube with motion controls. It didnt even have a hard drive. No DLC? Thanks Nintendo. @xFIRERUSHx I agree, I bought a Wii as soon as I could get one in stock (waited in line at launch, didn't get one. Fuuuuuuuuuuu!!) and while some games for Wii definitely make it a worthwhile purchase, those are to few and far between.
Brawl, Twilight Princess, MP3 Corruption, Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Brothers Wii, Rune Factory Frontier all GREAT AMAZING GAMES but the sad thing is I have a hard time finding good games besides those good few. Gamecube had a better library even IMO.
@Al0neStillAlive What about Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, DKC Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and Sonic Colors? In the majority's opinion (myself included) those are all awesome games
@JaysPlace20 Never played any of them. I don't like 3D Mario games and being 22 I don't really enjoy games who's target audience is 12 that much. If you do that's fine and I am sure they are good I just wouldn't go buy them or even rent them. Too many games that are targeted at me to play instead.
@Al0neStillAlive Fair enough, but I don't think Mario really has an age limit. Same with Sonic and DK. Kirby's debatable. Personally, I grew up as a primarily Nintendo gamer so these characters have always held a certain charm to me (I'm 21 btw), but if that's not your thing I'll respect that
@xFIRERUSHx No offense, but yes, you are nitpicking. The Wii is indeed technologically superior to the Gamecube. It's also very compact which is the main reason why it lacks HD. Regardless, it's capable of truly beautiful graphics. Nintendo has always put gameplay 1st, and (with their own games at least) the Wii delivers. It's also the only console that's compatible with every game from its predecessor. Not to mention Brawl has about 10 times more to do than any other fighting game in existence

I have this game, and its awesome. One of the best games to have for wii. In my opinion, I think its a perfect game to have since you can have fun for years with this game. I would give a 5/5, but that is my opinion. Link is also my favorite character to use, his awesome.

there was so many things you didn't mention like having a training mode or all star, the waiting room online, the differnet modes of doing brawl (eg. time, stock and coins with handicaps and other features to brawling) there was also no mention of being able to change what each button does. You never said about changing difficulty. No word about trophie shooter, hammers on challenges, and you didn't say that you could change the frequency on how often a certain track appears on a stage.

I wonder if Mr Sakura will ever create a Version of SSB where you can explore a 3D open world. That way people can play with more than just 4 characters and even Story-line can be played with friends online. With the new Wii U I hope the I-Net connection will be better and with better grafics, the game would be more than a must buy. :D

@mkocja5a I beg to differ. The games final smashes are somewhat unoriginal. Like for Ness and Lucas's Final Smash. What about PK Rockin from Earthbound? It would be perfect if Nintendo could find a way to make that Ness's Final Smash instead of PK Starstorm, Plus neither one of them even own that move from the Mother Series.

@SlamBolts I do. They promised so much with the online, but turned it into shit. It was 2008. It shouldnt be so fucking hard to get some sort of online mode that actually works instead of teasing us. Also because of Nintendo being complete dumbasses they chose to make the Wii a gamecube with motion controls. It didnt even have a hard drive. No DLC? Thanks Nintendo. No ability to replay and rewatch matches? Thanks. No hefty stage customization? Double thanks. Nintendo seemed very lazy with Brawl

Super Mario Galaxy 2 couldve been DLC if Nintendo knew what year it was when making the Wii. Again, i am probably nitpicking and overreacting. Brawl is a great game. And the wii is a great console.

@xFIRERUSHx I agree, I bought a Wii as soon as I could get one in stock (waited in line at launch, didn't get one. Fuuuuuuuuuuu!!) and while some games for Wii definitely make it a worthwhile purchase, those are to few and far between.
Brawl, Twilight Princess, MP3 Corruption, Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Brothers Wii, Rune Factory Frontier all GREAT AMAZING GAMES but the sad thing is I have a hard time finding good games besides those good few. Gamecube had a better library even IMO.

@JaysPlace20 Never played any of them. I don't like 3D Mario games and being 22 I don't really enjoy games who's target audience is 12 that much. If you do that's fine and I am sure they are good I just wouldn't go buy them or even rent them. Too many games that are targeted at me to play instead.

@xFIRERUSHx No offense, but yes, you are nitpicking. The Wii is indeed technologically superior to the Gamecube. It's also very compact which is the main reason why it lacks HD. Regardless, it's capable of truly beautiful graphics. Nintendo has always put gameplay 1st, and (with their own games at least) the Wii delivers. It's also the only console that's compatible with every game from its predecessor. Not to mention Brawl has about 10 times more to do than any other fighting game in existence
