I wish I would have done this years ago now severe arthritis has taken a toll trust me the price of tape is well worth it if you can't do it get a swede o ankle brace
is it okay to tape it if you dont got any injury just for protection? I play football for college team and could you please give me information regarding all those tape.name of all those tapes so i can buy it. cheers
@jefcul11 yep, that and the fact that he used so many layers of prewrap, that he could cause blisters, and the first horse shoe should curve around the heel enough to keep from having to wrinkle over like his job at 1:24. I also personally prefer to do continuous heel locks and continuous figure eights, to save time. When you have to tape 15+ ankles for basketball players in less than 30 minutes for pre-game, it helps to use continuous techniques.
will doing something like this make wearing cleated shoes hard becuase i play soccer and i hvae sprined my ankle many times now and no braces seem to work would this give me some more support and fit in cleats comfortable?
Instead of doing all this, couldn't you wear some kind of boot if you're going cross country. I have thought about running in tactical assault boots to run in, but don't want to do that if I could still go over on my ankle. I have been using a strong ankle wrap made of blue material that I bought from a shop that you wrap in a figure of 8 then attach and I sprained it again as if there was nothing there.
great video. 100% professional tape job. A little too fast in the demo to follow all the way through specially in the middle. Would be perfect if you slowed it down. One question, does one need to cut it out after each training/ game session or can it last through a couple of showers?
@Allaboutthemojo you're gonna want to take it off as soon as you're done with whatever you're doing. If you leave the tape on too long your ankle may start to weaken.
@ohiostbuckboy I injured my ankle playing basketball yesterday and I'm planning in buying this tape. It's very mobile I've seen many players including Kobe Bryant having their ankles taped.
Ankle needs to be kept in 90 degrees throughout the taping. This was not done. Since this is for an inversion ankle sprain it does matter where you start your medial heel lock. It should be from behind the leg. Lateral heel lock should start from instep going under the foot. Figure eight should be started through the instep giving lateral support to ankle. Following this video you could make incorrect choices and give the majority of support to the medial side instead of the lateral.
That was excellent. Without having seen ankle taping before I had been taping my foot up for the last few days in a similar fashion but made some errors which you just fixed. I have a very intensive course next week and for the last 2 weeks my ankle has hurt on the inside, just below the ankle. Any idea what this is? And is this the right taping for it?
@AlexxisPlata Yes, taping will provide external support, especially if you run on trails and there are ruts/loose gravel that increase the risk of injury. Make sure you get taped by a professional because you don't want any discomfort from cut off circulation or awkward limited range of motion.

@AlexxisPlata yes you can and I recommend it on trails, especially trails with ruts and rocks and branches if you are susceptible to inversion ankle sprains, especially in the fall, when leaves have fallen and cover those obstacles. Just had my first athlete sprain his ankle on the trails. Most definitely a good option!!

the prewrap that he puts on (the yellow tape) protects the skin from irritation and the hair from being pulled because it only sticks to itself :]

aren't you supposed to do a basket weave technique with the stirrups and horseshoes? like do one stirrup and then 1 horseshoe and so on?
