How do you put in 'Instrument Rack' in at 29 secs. I am using Ableton Live 8.2.7 M Audio Enhanced Edition and I only have a folder called instrument rack and I can't drag it.
What version did you use? How would I do this in 8?
Thanks for this tutorial! However, I can't find the fusion button so that I can place more samples in 'Simpler', it's not there even though it shows it on your screen..hmmmm? I'm using a mac as well. Any helps appreciated :)
Language barrier aside this shit was right on time!!! The first 3 min. got me further using Simpler than I have in 3 months. Appreciate the vid player.
thank you for this tutorial! I've just started learning Live and tricks like this one really show what this software is able to do if you have some imagination
I can't seem to get any samples to play, i add a sample, insert a clip into midi then make the clip C3 note and click play and it doesn't make a sound, please help. good vid btw.

All I ask is WHY?.... would I want to go through all that to make that noise? Show me an example of real world music and how I may do things musically with Live.
@bootknife23 you must really be sensitive about my opinion. It just seems to me that too much effort is spent on doing stuff to do nothing more than make noise and sounds with very little musical content. If my opinion hurt you that bad to wish death on me then you must really be hurt bad, I try to never be negativle with my criticism of another musicians work however I'm also being honest so just deal with it and grow up.
@TheHawkExperiment You're a funny guy. 'musical content' is subjective. You don't get to define it. You also don't get to claim that I wished death on you when I did no such thing.
I need help.. How do I record vocals whilst playing my beat without reordingthe beat on the same track as the vocal? Is it possible in live 7? Please help..
@wahapnin That seriously threw me too. Just figured it out. What he did was drag an INSTRUMENT RACK to a midi channel, then he dragged a SIMPLER *into* the instrument rack itself. That is what gives him the chain menu, allows him to use different key mappings, etc.
cool tutorial, i'd seen it a whiles back, forgotten the process and then gotten back today...the possibilities here are great particularly on minimizing processor drain as you can confine more work within live rather than 3rd party samplers....love the work here.
wouldnt this be much easier to just use the impulse drum rack? is there any advantages using this method?

Danke ;)

As an Ableton user from V5, this is a good tutorial and no, you can't do the same thing with a plugin.

your are retarded. if you just use the drum rack and drop different percussion sounds into it then you can do this same shit.

Thanks for the video. Quite basic, but it's nice to have, whenever you want to learn about a new sequencer.
If you want to make another videotutorial sometime, it would be a good idea to come up with more names of the parameters.
