  • i was at my school at lunch and the teachers love music so they put this on and other stuff. when this came on i told my friends to watch and i went around the entire cafiteria doing summersalts and jumping on tables. it was helllll of funny

  • @ThePowers95 haha I would have done the same thing :)

  • My high school plays this over the announcements as we run to homeroom. Can't listen to this with picturing myself in art class. It's pretty epic (:

  • i play this when i'm stealing cookies :D :D

  • @MrRoyalrazor

Did you steal cookies by dropping down from an air duct with a bunch of ropes?

  • @yellowtaiwanman lol but I did one better I dropped down from and Air Duct with ropes @ Keebler tourched the lock on the safe and stole their hard drive for their Pecan Sandies and E.L. Fudge recipie but got more also got Little Brownie Bakers girl scout recipies in the process too so I scored big time

  • COOOOOOOOOOL

  • I like listening to this while doing my homework it helps me concentrate. :)

  • Well there's two beds in my room.I jumped on to the other one and started fighting the air.My mom walked in on me xD

  • @Kunami He was approached and read the script, he turned it down because he didn't think his character would do that, he didn't like how it became a Tom Cruise vehicle, and he getting older. He also objected to other characters not appearing in the film.

  • Sounds like a Korg Triton.

  • it's a fantastic movie

  • Thank you, Lalo Schifrin!

  • the the 70s-2000s had better movies

  • This song sorta sounds like the macarena.......Is it just me?

  • Original was better, you loose all the off time suspense when it's not in 5/4

  • @barbwirebush what's 5/4?

  • @punishalltrolls 5/4 is a time signature used in musical composition. The "5" is for 5 counts per measure, and "4" designates the quarter note as one count. The most popular time signature is 4/4 time. Another is 3/4 time mostly used in watlzes ... ie: 123, 123, 123 ... 2/4 time and 6/8 time 123456, 123456 ie: "Hot Fun in the Summertime" The Mission theme 1996 (this version) begins in 5/4 time, then segues into 4/4 at 0:19. 5/4 is a jazzier time signature...4/4 rocks it, and is danceable.

  • you are endrcontrol

  • the message always asked jim phelps, " your mission, if you choose to accept it...", I always wondered, what if he decided not to accept his next mission... to say, " you know what?... I think Im gonna take a few days off.. let someone else take care of this mission...." I wonder what would have happened to him?...=/

  • like also, this version, performed by Adam Clayton+Larry Mullen jr.

it gives respect to original;-''tempo.,timing'' bit stronger:)-Thanks for sharing!

  • @timris you're welcome! Glad you like U2 and Mission Impossible soundtrack too! :)

  • 6 people failed the mission...

  • the tune my hamster liked hearing before escaping from her cage

  • I thought the movie was kinda chessy. But thats what made it good.

  • This music plays while Chuck Norris is brushing his teeth.

  • @MsClaireLouLou Wow, I can't believe you remember that. Good memory.

  • My fav tune! i like it!

  • LOL!!! i remember playing the MI movie game back in summer of late 206 and I just could NOT get passed level 1, or should i say, "mission 1". those stupid guards were everywhere and there was nowhere to go escape.

  • warning this song may cause the following side effects

    1. lookin like a retard cause your pretending to be a spy and running around the house like a spy

    2. you trying to play an imaginary instrument that you cant play and everyone laughing at you

3 .jumping off something trying to do it stealthy and falling and looking like an ass

4.stalking people outside your house for no reason

  • your mission, should you choose to accept it is to play gameboy.this comment will explode in 10 seconds.109876543210 BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember playing that Nintendo 64 Mission Impossible game.. as well as James Bond 007 on Playstation. Great games! Very fun!

  • @shan4883 Can you put a download link up for this song?

  • @shan4883 i also remember playing that game but not getting it at all, too hard, so i traded it for goldeneye, possibly thebest trade ever!

  • i loved the 1996 film ever since i was a child as well as its nintendo 64 video game counter part, but ive recently started watching the original tv crackerjack episodes from the 60's and as a diehard fan of the series, i must say that they are every bit as captivating!

    Lalo Schifrin Genio! Vamos Argentina!

  • @mfp22 The music is writen by Henry Mancini

  • I play this music when I'm either chasing my pet chinchilla around or doing something that makes me feel like a spy... I like it.

  • @CutelittleMouseygirl

    HAHA great quote-That's priceless.

  • have all the ids and passaports of all over the world to do under cover investigacion

  • rip Peter Graves

love this updated theme....loved the music video that came out with it back when the tom cruise flick was comin out back in 1996

  • I'm not liking the new look of Youtube. The format is too plain and small when you're watching a video and commenting.

  • REST IN PEACE.. PETER GRAVES.

Though he may be better known as Jim Phelps, the leader of the Impossible Mission Force on TV's "Mission Impossible," movie fans will know Peter Graves from films like "Stalag 17", "Long Gray Line" and, of course, as the worrisome Captain Oveur in "Airplane!", who asks a passenger, "You ever seen a grown man naked?" Sadly the actor passed away today at 83 years of age after suffering a heart attack at his home in California.

  • @shan4883 James Arness' brother.. Gunsmoke and Mission:Impossible. Two classic shows.

  • @Jantv81 older shows were so much better back than!!

  • @shan4883 I also know him as the "tonight, on Biography" guy

  • @shan4883 Does anybody know why Graves did not play Jim Phelps in the movie?

  • @Pogogichel I don't know if he was even approached, but I do know he wasn't at all happy with what they did to his character. Most of the show's original cast hated the character's turn.

  • RIP Peter Graves

  • @Balarli I know, right? I think I saw some of the show with my dad when he got it on DVD, but I couldn't remember the song. It deffenately makes me feel like doing something stealthy... X3 X3 X3

  • This version is incredible, though I would have liked to hear The Edge doing some shit with the guitar and Bono singing something like an long falsetto at the end, LOL!

Still...awesome cover by Mullen and Clayton.

  • i feel like crying because i remeber watching this my first time when i was 12.

  • @Karumii i bet you, you were born at the 90's

  • 80s

  • I also was 12 when this came out! we're getting older and good music is left behind in our memories...

  • Man, mission impossible one was the shit

the best one of em all

  • ja geht voll ab dein vid^^ 5* hoffe du verstehst Deutsch^^

  • Thanks for watching my video everyone!!

  • Yeah Nice Song! I Love Mission Inpossible

    And Tom Cruise!!

  • I was at a bar (and sober) and heard the MI-1 theme. It had John Voight`s voice saying "Ethan". does anyone know what version of this tune had his voice saying Ethan?

  • From wikipedia: Mission Impossible

U2 band members Larry Mullen Jr. and Adam Clayton produced their own version of the original theme song. The song went into top ten charts around the world and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.

  • The music was written by Lalo Schifrin and not U2!

    This is compeltely miscredited.

  • If you look into More Info.. you'll see that I put "this is my favorite version.." I never said U2 wrote the "original" score. They updated it for the movie.

  • I understand what you mean but it still seemed kind of wrong when the original author's name was missing completely.

  • I understand that too, but like I said, this is not the original version, so it wouldn't matter if Mr. Schifrin is on here. If you really want me to put his name in the More Info section, I will out of respect for the Mission Impossible fans and for him too. :)

  • omgosh
