  • Now the swiffer jet police are gonna come get you! Thanks though!

  • Thank you!!!!

  • Thank You Soooooooooooooo Muuuch!!

  • thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!!

  • Thanks a bunch, Jerry. You provide a great service.

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • I use Pliers and I Gently unscrew the cap.

Then I refill the wet jet cartridge with whater I want.

Another thing I do to save $ with the wet jet is I buy the washable microfiber cleaning pad that go on the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop and I cut them so they are the same size as the wet jet pads and place them on the wet jet

  • Thank you!!!!! My frugal husband will love it when I show him the savings on this one!!!

  • Thanks for this!!! I just bought one but I was a little worried about having to buy refill bottles all the time. Now I wont have to! I can just use the original bottle the starter kit came with.

  • good post. i didnt even have to heat my bottle top. i was able to open it by just muscling it with my bare hand. just squeeze the shit out of the white lid part, it should warp it enough to get over the ridges and then twist. ps. being a 250lb gorilla helps.

  • Cool. How do you replace the batteries in the Swiffer Wet Jet?

  • Brilliant mate, thank you!

  • thank man. you're a genius

  • I tried it with just running under some hot water- probably a little harder to twist but it totally worked- thanks!

  • I really appreciate this. If I mop my floors with anything but plain water, they get sticky. I like the operation of the Swiffer Wet Jet and have used it since it came on the market. Now I can go back to using the system without my linoleum getting sticky, and I've been trying to find a way to do that for months. THANK YOU!!!!!

  • Thx.

  • This worked perfectly. Thank you! :)

  • Thanks so much for this!

  • Awesome! Thank you! And here I was trying to use meat marinade injectors :)

  • thanks, great info, just what we were looking for :) Great video.

  • Chance are you wont not know if they changed quality of the plastics in their

bottle. Unless you have a friend that works there in the plastic injection molding

    department?

  • i just used some muscle and twisted it open its only little tabs holding it on if you twist hard they will fold the other way. try it. it works. wont break it i promise.

  • Thank YOU!!!!!

  • i just tried running the cap under hot water from the tap for 30 seconds ..thats all it took ,it came off easily

  • @jagermikestar Me too just ran it under hot water, worked fine.

  • @jagermikestar You must have one heck of a water heater! LOL -- Or the Swiffer people got cheap and started using lower quality plastics. In the latter case, it might mean that these bottles won't last too long. I haven't purchased a bottle in over 4 years so I don't know if they changed anything.

  • awesome.....thanx ...cant wait to try it....bye bye expensive botlles !!!!!!

  • I just eliminated the boiling water step. I just opened it by using a rubber grip jar opener.

If you don't know what that is just Google: rubber grip jar opener

  • @BeckyTeddy - you can buy homemade reuseable refill pads on etsy.com or you can make your own in a similar style.

  • Nice! I did it! Thank you!

  • Thank you soooo much, this has been driving me nuts. I even tried injecting solution in witha big syringe, funny huh? Thank you so much!

  • so are there any solutions for the refill pads?!?!??!

  • LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE! Keep up the good work Jerry!

  • 1 dislike is from the owner of swiffer

  • @ben29555 LOL!

  • Awesome, thank you I've been looking for a solution to replacing the expensive Wetjet solutions.

  • This is great! My husband was alergic to the smell of the Swiffer solution but I loved the conveniance. Problem solved! Thanks! I just microwaved the water in a coffee cup for 2 minutes.

  • I cannot believe I just found this! Knew there had to be a way to do this, to bad $100's have probably spent on refills already.

  • Thank goodness someone put this out there for everyone!

  • I figured this out accidentally. I was microwaving some soup and the lid popped off lol

  • @tybooskie Do you always cook your Wetjet bottle and soup in the microwave at the same time? LOL :)

  • @jerw99 lol i mean the lid popped of the bowl

  • Thanks. I knew there was a way to do it.

  • Thank you so much!

  • thanks for sharing and saving me money!

  • Amazing. This will save a bundle. Thank you.

  • Thanks for the tip. After removing the cap, if you cut off the little tabs inside the cap (use fine tipped scissors) then you won't have to go through this boiled water process next time you need to refill the bottle.

  • Amazing. You saved my swiffer from being replaced. Thank you!

  • this is genius ^_^ i was thinking about buying an o-cedar and retiring my wetjet, but sheesh, i'll just do this! a nice woman online recommended this link to me; once my bottle of refill runs out, i'm totally trying this. ^_^

  • Thanks bud.

  • thank you so much

  • I don't like the Swifter WetJet smell either!!! I love the smell of PineSol instead!! Thanks again, Jerry!!

  • Yay!! Thanks Jerry!!

  • your amazing... I love you lol you just saved me so much money

  • This worked like a charm! I was nervous as it didn't work at first so I re-dipped for 20 seconds and it twisted right off! I only use vinegar and water to clean. It works so much better than the nasty smelling Swiffer solution! I'll be making my own microfiber pads next. Thank you!

  • This 'sistah' wants to thank you for such a great money saving idea. (It better work!) ; )

  • ugh!! i am the ONLY one this isn't working for!! I even left mine in for over a minute. i'm twisting the cap as hard as i can and no one in my house can get it off. is anyone else having a problem?

  • @Zane7286 I needed to use my rubber jar-opener pad to get this to work, but once I figured that out I was good to go! A rubber glove (like a playtex glove) would work just as well.

  • this is so awesome instead of the stove i just put a container in the microwave. thanks so much for your idea.

  • Thanks Jerry

  • Jerry... You are a darlin'.... for sharing this!.... Wow...you have just saved this household a lot in monthly cleaning supplies. Thank you ever so much!!!

  • OMG! I officially love you for this. Along with my homemade microfiber pads I'm all set for spot cleaning =D

  • Woo freakin' HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jerry! you the man!

  • thanks!! i was going for my visegrip ahah

  • thanks!! i was going for my visegrip ahah

  • Very smart! thanks

  • EXCELLENT. 1 tablespoon Pinsol + 4 cups water.

  • YOU ARE THE BEST! Thank you so much! I was trying to open it to refill it, and was getting so frustrated I decided to look up if I even could open it. You rock!

  • THANKS!!!! You're the greatest! How did you ever figure this out???

  • Thank you so much! You have just saved me tons of money.

  • You ROCK!!!! Thank you!! Woo hoo!!!!!

  • Thank-you so much!!!!!! You are a life saver!!!

  • U r AWESOME!! Now I can fill mine with castile...it's super cheap and doesn't bother my animals! Thanx so much!

  • I refill mine with Citri-Glow Multi-Purpose Cleaner or TPCS Loalsan Formula because they are 100% safe. You can even bath in the TPCS Loalsan Formula (pine). No Pg,no crap. You can buy it online at iherb.com and If you're a new customer you can get $5 off order with ongoing coupon code TAW742 (valid for one person per household)

  • Thanks again for helping me live a toxic free life and plus I saved a lot of money! The actual swiffer solution has propanediol (propylene Glycol)in it and that stuff is toxic. Can you imagine mopping your floors with the swiffer solution then your pet walk across this crap or your child and start licking their paws/hands? I heard that some pets have died because of this.Proctor & Gamble need to tell the truth.

  • It worked! Thank you so much!

  • ♥ It! Worked Just As You Said. You Rock!!!!

    ♥~~~~~ThanX~~~~~♥

  • Genius it worked :D thanks

  • Thank you jerw99!

  • Awesome, I quit using the swiffer solution after I got pregnant and I have been wanting to refill mine with water and vinegar for ages! Its baby safe :)

  • @Powder686 I noticed it leaked after I got the cap off so I used teflon(sp?) tape and wound it around the top, after that no leaks!

  • @Powder686 cool!

  • Thank you, exactly what I was looking for!

  • Thank for the tip, I tried it today and it really works. No need to buy anymore when I can make my own cleaner solution....Thanks again

  • Thank you SO much for this tip. I have always wondered how you can reuse this! Yay now I know! And it's SO easy!!! ;)

  • Thank you!... I like to make my earth friendly cleaning products at home and was wondering how to open the bottle. Now there will be less waste as well!

  • Awesome!!! Thank you so much!! I am so glad that you posted this! I completely agree!

  • That's great! Thank you

  • This worked like a charm! I had to dip a few times because I was afraid I was going to melt the plastic. The first 5 sec. dip made the cap move already. Here's one other tip, since inside of the cap has several jagged edges to lock it in place (so people can't open it) just cut the edges with a small wire cutter. This will make unscrewing the cap much easier the next time you refill the bottle without redoing the procedure in the video. Thanks for the video!

  • This is wonderful!!! My old swiffer broke and was wanting to replace it but couldn't justify the price when compared to a regular mop and bucket. Now I can have that convenience without feeling guilty :)

  • This has helped me save a lot of money. Also soap.com and diapers.com is offering new customers 15% off any purchase with ongoing coupon code MYBABYLOVE

soap.com carries lots of swiffer products as well as other brands.

  • u da man!!

  • thanks man :)

  • thanks Jerry

  • Wow thanks man!!!

  • Just purchased the wetjet today and was wondering how I could refill it. Paid over $5 for it...are they kidding? Thanks for the info,..that is how I always opened up jars that were so tight. Great Help...now how can we replace the pads cheaper?

  • @MsCampobasso Someone once told me to buy microfiber cloths and use elastic bands to attach it.

  • OMG thank you!!!!

  • Thank you, thank you. Im a P&G shareholder and have complained to them about the plastic waste and expense of the Swiffer Jet refills and yet I love the Swiffer Jet! You have solved the problem!!

  • Awesome!! Thanks!!

  • Freakin awesome!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!

  • Thank you!

  • Thank You!!! Ive been trying to open this thing!!! :)

  • Brilliant!

  • this is a great idea, thank you!

  • I contemplated refilling with a medicine doser at one point. Thanks JERRY!

  • Thank You! I love you for this!

  • thanks! <3

  • your my hero

  • YES YES YES YES YES!!! awesome, ive been grudgingly buying more solution, and wanting to use murphys oil sopa solution on my hard wood floors instead! Figured that i could find a way to get the cap off online, your demonstration was the very best! Thanks Jerry!! Woohoo!!

  • Fuck you, mega-corp! Thanks, Jerry.

  • Thank you annaberri...I cannot imagine how I didnt see that button

  • Thank you! I hate the smell of the Wetjet solution, so I'm really glad to know that I can pour that stuff out and refill the bottle with something less stinky.

  • used pliers

  • opened mine with pliers!!!

  • your awesome!!! I just put the boiling water in a mug and set the cantainer in there and it worked, but I hate to play with it to get it open.

  • Dont have to hide yourself jerry. We think you're genius.

  • how do i get the bottle off the mop when its empty??

  • @mshkosh There is a rectangular button about 2.5 inches long sticking up from the top of the mop base, right where the plastic base meets the handle. Push it down to eject the bottle.

  • I think the cleaning solution in Wet Jet is likely nothing more than Windex window cleaner. I know it smells the same and they both dry quickly.

  • awesome!! i was wondering how i was gonna get that cap off!

  • Thank you this worked well. I just refilled with water because I have toddlers running around who sometimes pick food up off the floor and eat it. While they have powerful defenses against bacteria and germs, none of us cope well with modern chemicals, so water is a safer choice for them. So far it's doing a great job.

  • You could try a mixture of half water and half white vinegar. It disinfects and is safe to eat.

  • @Figaroz2 hahahahaah

  • This is a great help. Thanks so much!!!

  • Thanks so much for this!! I just made washable pads for it so I'm so excited to know how to open the bottle!!

  • Thank you so much!

You are saving a lot of money!

  • It worked for me using a glass of hot water straight from the tap (not boiling). Left the bottle in for 20 seconds and it came right off.

  • nice...thanks for the tips......i was gonna stop using it coz its expensive to buy another bottle.

is there any other tip for the cleaning soulution aside from the pine sol???

  • This will leak after a few times (gasket issue) a better way is to drill a hole in the top and cap it. take it to your hardware store and tell them what you want to do. They will tell you what size hole is needed and sell you the fittings and funnel. another option is a large syringe.

  • thats awsome

  • I did this same thing. Works like a dream. A couple of things though.

    1. If you want to get the pine-sol to water ratio spot on and reduce sticky floors, use 1 tablespoon pine sol and 4 cups water. I put a piece of tape on the bottle so I know how much water to use each time.

    2. If you want to avoid having to boil the cap each time you want to refill, use nail clippers to remove the little pegs on the inside of the cap. It still holds tight and won't leak, but will unscrew like a normal cap.

  • thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks

  • I have destroyed more of these bottles trying to figure out how to open them...this is GREAT.

  • Nice trick!
