agalloch helps me through some of the worst times, yet also calms me when i just want to relax. agalloch and moonsorrow are all the music i need to be contenet
Where shade once was, the lake tree in a sprawl Of death no longer writhing against the wind. The people say: "I see now. It was tall." And here and there slight nests of springtime find Themselves dependent on a severed height. The people say: "I see now. It was kind." The people praise. The people cut. Twilight comes and they haul their loads off. Through mid-air a cry... A blackcap crying out in flight, Seeking a nest that is no longer there.
@FUCKTHAPOLIZE Yes Skyrim and the Elder Scrolls series in general accompanied by Agalloch is a beautiful experience. Bethesda studios should recruit the band to do some if not all of the ambient, piano, acoustic work on their next game. Or a DLC music pack for skyrim would work too. That would make my life.
I'm trying to figure out the lyrics, can anyone help? Where shade once was The oak tree and the storm of (doth/death) no longer writhing against the wind the people say I see now it was (torn/told) and here and there (???) themselves dependent on a severed hide the people say I see now it was (timed/kind) the people praise the people cut twilight comes and they haul their loads off through (???) a black cat crying out in fright/flight seeking a nest that is no longer there
@awesomdor The lyrics in this song were translated from an Italian poem by Giovanni Pascoli, named "The Fallen Oak". Google it, and you will be able to find them. :)
I don't understand how any group of people can create this melancholy nostalgia within beautiful music so perfectly. This may be one of the best compositions I have ever heard. Agalloch is by far the most underrated group I have ever heard of. I'm just enthralled by this song.
@AwesomeVader Funny how many times "read the description" pops up. What I do like about this crowd, besides our kinshipped love of music, is the patience. (For the most part) Cheers to you all for that.
@patiomkin2001 Yes, this composition sure has an intense nostalgic atmosphere attached to it. I really think that Agalloch write the best songs of this kind in the whole music industry.

Life is a constant battle and we must learn to be strong to overcome this obstacle and must understand that everything can be but with time.

This sounds like something that would play after the end of all humanity, when nature is finally relieved and can live again.
