  • Lastly its your position that the government is not capable of managing our money, but from your perspective with only a 5 cent per gallon profit it seems that corporations would be better at running this country. Well who are lobbyists, who lobby our government to get their interests in place? Corporations and so my friend THEY are the true masters of this country. More money for them and common people get the SHAFT. I know your not part of the 1% of this country so you should look at that.

  • i agree, lobbyists are very powerful. So pull the rug out from under them and support the Fair Tax. I know that's not the issue we are discussing, but this would be one way to give power back to the people and take it away from lobbyists and vote hungry politicians. We live in a capitalist society... when corps do well, more people are at work and are making money. If you are unhappy, change jobs or start your own company, it can be done.

  • Also, why is it that we need to drill for more oil when we've taken over Iraq? I mean we all know that they have an abundant supply so why haven't we tapped it? Also their is technology, like 2 and 4 seater cars that would get 50mpg but the government will not allow for those cars to be sold here? Both sides of the aisle know what they are doing because I don't know ANYONE that is getting rich off of OIL profits personally, but Im sure they ALL do.

  • I find it extremely hard to buy into big oil's theory on dropping the price. Let us drill and the price will drop tomorrow? Ok, why is it that the price is so high and their recording RECORD profits? These energy companies have their buddies in the government who allow them to rape our pockets with petty excuses like storms etc to jack up prices. Im not buying China and India excuses either their using scooters and 4 cylinder vehicles for ever but that is the cause? NON SENSE

  • here's something to consider. Oil companies make on average 5cents per gallon in profits. Govt, depending on where you live makes 40 to 60 cents per gallon. Who's making record profits again? As anything becomes more scarce, it becomes worth more. How hard is that to understand? Oil companies are owned by stockholders. When american companies do well, it's good for all of us. Why should we expect govt to fix this problem? They manage money so well... 9.7 trillion dollar debt...

  • Ok, so the government makes the most money and profits for the oil companies benefits us all? Really? So why am I paying almost $5 at the pump? Listen I'm really trying to understand your point of oil becoming scarce when we have a perfectly good source in Iraq. The government can hand out no bid contracts for their buddies and themselves I might add but they can't get us $1.09 at the pump? I guess their smart for creating this debt but idiots when it comes to our spoils? Come on man

  • you are paying $5 at the pump because your govt, who is truly to blame for this problem, is trying desperately to shift the blame to the very people we need to bring this product to market for the american people. The govt is the villain here, not private oil companies. Govt needs to step out of the way. Oil companies already operate under tremedously bad circumstances, mainly, govt regulation. This is politicians, shifting the blame and trying to win your vote... govt is the problem.
