  • a wheelchair for anyone who has an iphone that cant walk

  • Great contest with iPhone 5 to win. More info at: goo.gl\k55ge

  • =O me enseñas plz

  • Shit, I bought an iphone then I realised I needed 2!

  • buying an rc car seems alot cheaper and more fun to me..

  • I did this with bluetooth. Much more effective.

    Nice bot though.

  • Hey uploader, I have a small doubt.

If I make a local website with 5 buttons: Front, Back, Left, Right, Stop, and upon clicking, it will change to an appropriate color, then no need for any bulky code right?

    For eg.

    Front = Blue

    Back = Red

So, when I press Front button on my laptop, the iPhone's browser changes to Blue. The color sensor detects blue color, and moves forward.

How does this sound? Please answer.

BTW, awesome job building this :D

  • @pragith I used GWT because that is what I'm familiar with, the same thing could be written in PHP or any other web technologies. You'd need to keep the two iPhone browser sessions in sync, that is where the server code comes in. Good luck!

  • I hate iphone.... <3<3

  • @willgorman, if only you thought to use the bluetooth of the brick + one of the many NXT remote apps before making the world's most retarded remote controls and bragging about it on youtube...

  • clever...

  • And all you need is 2 iPhones, $400 worth of legos!!

  • you know you can get an android phone and download a app that connects to the mindstorm and tilt the phone in the directions you want it to go and how fast

  • @nxtmindstorm1 yh the app is called MINDDROID and its an official lego app

  • fake !!!

  • @august3589 OMG.. i couldn´t belive how unnecessary this comment is!!! Why schould this be a fake???

  • @Leitna still fake !!!

  • wow.. that's retarded.

  • @logain2006 ur retarded

  • How,congratulations for the robot, was pretty creative...

  • @neko2808

You are stupid. The video and robot are great.

  • what is a nxj??

  • @indykoning It's NXT JAVA Programming Language

  • They really did this the hard way. It would be easier to make a website with auto-refresh, and make the iphone access the website. From somewhere else simply change the background color of the website.

  • or you could get 1 android phone and download the bluetooth app. see how android is better?

  • Good video. But i need 2 iphones/ipod touches for this :(

  • This is a very expensive (Lego kit plus 2 iPhones!) remote controlled "car" (with only two wheels). It is NOT a robot. So what's the point. No, this is not cool, it is stupid. For that money you can build a real little robot and really program it.

  • cool(:

  • did you use a colour senser for this

  • or u use bluetooth.. which saves u time and the need for a second device.. still a nice idea

  • impessive programming. Light sensing technology can be the next line of motorized transportation. You have just improved the future.5/5 P.S. Send this to toyota or chevy for an idea like this in the next veichle.

  • it's impressive yet not 100% great yet, if you can use the iphone to command it to shoot stuff & with webcam live transmit to and iPad your targeting system with red Laser beams it will be SUPERB AWESOME!

  • I too am mechanically inclined and that makes me appreciate all the more the innovation and creativity that it must have taken you to make something like that :) Great job! Keep it up buddy!

  • Oh wait, I was supposed to build the robot? Fuck.

  • awesome

  • Or just use bluetooth...?

  • @D1g1talAli3n this is cooler

  • Is that an Otter Box on the iPhone that's on board the NXT?

  • youre pro i can even build a moving thing and you can build that

  • awesome

  • That's awesome dude!!!

But one thing.... i don't know how to open the source code that u have given on the web for eclipse..... could u pls give me some advice...

  • dude that's sick

  • Cool I liked! =)

  • lol ;0 randomm

  • will it work with one ipod touch and one iphone or ipad

  • Tahts a very cool ideia, but u can do it with a special program from the app store called iNXT Remote. All u need is a computer connected to the NXT (by bluetooth, for instance), a special program running on the computer (which makes the bridge between the iphone and the NXT) and the iphone connected to the same wifi network as your computer Ive tried it and it works rather well.

  • Will it work with ipods?

  • would this work with a couple of ipod touches?

  • are you rich?

  • its his friends iphone! duh...

  • Thats sick! Check out deformedstudios channel its awesome.

  • wish someone could just make an app that communicated via bluetooth to the iphone to controll it...

  • how do you program the the itouches for the colour thing(i've got two). also is the colour sensor the standard one you get in the mindstorms 2.0 set or that hitech one?

  • @Drpy970

Pretty sure,my favorite feature for the new iPhone must be nicer screen and more pixels on camera

A lot of people Reading this comment simply can't acquire the iPhone 4g, since it will be $489

Good news, I found out on the Apple website Sunday they are giving away a few thousand iPhone 4gs. Also, this is the link to their contest page copy + paste

    shrtlnk。net/sxie

Use this code at the end FACEBOOK7219

  • clever solution!

  • creo q es lka mayor estupides en la q puedes usar tu iphone

    jajaja

podiendo hace reso con un celular con blutooth

  • you need to go faster then that!!!!

  • that is baller

  • but u have to have 2 iphones what tha

  • nice

  • i want to drive my nxt by bluetooth from my ipod but i dont know how:((((((((((((( i mean i conected it and all but there is no way to drive ir HELP

  • COOl

  • what case/skin do you have? (the one thats on the remote-iPhone)

  • ... or you could try bluetooth...

  • and the point of this is ?

  • che cagata

  • cool -- but ....

-why would you need ---two iphones???--- to do this if the light sensor sees color for direction??

you could use --anything-- that sends color value

under $40 for a few leds and a radio unit ....

    or

even cheaper some sort "dish collector" for the light sensor and a few $1 store color lazer pointers under $10 total

you could tape them together like a pan flute

    left,back,right,forward,stop

  • Awesome.

  • just us robotC. it processes faster and you can just use a normal game controler for your computer. way cheaper

  • iphone fanboys at work, lol.

just use bluetooth, it saves a lot of money.

But hey i remember, incomplete bt stack in iphone os. FAIL

I will now buy two iphones to controll my television by an nxt robott pressing the tvs remotecontroll buttons, getting its commands from your solution. GREAT!

  • @JoelLinn93 Buy one iPhone and install the app to control you TV or DVR or anythin you want !

  • whats the name of the background song

  • But wouldn't you need TWO Iphones to do this?

  • He did

  • @gr8fzy1 did you watch the video??? he is using 2 iphones

  • Yes, I watched the video.. But just because he was using 2 I-phones doesn't mean they were BOTH his.

Why would anyone have 2 I-phones anyway, one isn't good enough?

  • i wish we had some light sensors, they'd be soo helpful

  • it's a really clever idea by using a light sensor and apps which changes the color of the screen to control the robot, but imo it dosen't really connected the iphone and the NXT if you can see what i mean. the iphone can actually be replaced by anything that can be remote to change color ( in other words, everything that has a screen). so, why bother to use an iphone?

  • wawou! merry merry good!

  • this whole thing seems impossible for me, a normal kid. i could never do the coding part. how do ppl figure this out?

  • Not too hard. Just changing the color. Coding looks scary, but once you got it down, something like this would not take too long. I've never made a app for an iphone though.

  • the bluetooth in iphne is a shame...

  • It looks like the ihpone is riding the vechicle :p

or maybe its like a wheelchair for it

  • lol, a quadriplegic phone?

  • the after school program ur talking about is called FLL(First Lego League). i did it once...

  • all you need is robot c, if you have a computer with bluetooth then thats all you need

  • cool

  • not really fun at all

  • I hate the iphone but like the idea. It's a clever implementation of browser to browser control. Effectively adding 5 switches with one color sensor.

    -

I'm not sure what I will use it for? But it's worth adding to my NXT idea notebook. Thanks for the video and Build instructions. Was allot of fun and worked well with my Nokia N95. :) The only issue I had was the delay when refreshing browser.

  • Why would you need any ipods to do that? You could just easily use nxtsymbian or nxt vehicle remote via bluetooth

  • good idea!

but lego nxt 2.0 with a bluetooth mobile phone works a bit better^^

  • nice work, thx for vid

  • why the hell need and iphone for that??

  • @point6000x touchscreen

  • I love the concept. I don't know if it is really very usefull but...

  • if i have a computer not an i phote can i program the robot to do someting by it self like: 2 meters left - 3 meters forward....

like that can i do that?

  • yess, its easy as hell... just a simple javascript

  • But you just need one phone to do that ... the nxt brick can connect to the phone using blue-tooth. THIS IS COOL but you DONT need 2 phones to do that.

  • that's awesome... if you have 2 iphones for some reason.

  • dude put the program on a vid

  • ops i stepped on it my bad

  • I like the idea, it's funny! :-)

  • HAHA This is genius, lucky I got the iPhone 3GS after buying a iPhone 3G (only 2 1/2 months old :-( ) so I got to have good fun with this one.

  • Wow, dats pretty complex. But really cool.

  • you can do same with bluetooth phone

  • great video!

  • building instructins

  • It's not a robot when you use remote control.

  • yes it is lol.

  • LOL, thanks for the laugh, let us know when they can stabilize your meds.

  • for what do you need two iphones?

  • good job but its easier to buy one

  • nice

  • w6w thats fr5c2en awes60e!

  • rich bastard who can afford 2 iphones...

    but otherwise awesome!!!

  • Him.. xD

  • And an idiot since Apple and AT$T hand over your browsing information to the CIA no questions asked. Guess freedom of speech isn't as important as a shiny phone eh?

  • @multimolti

Or a not rich bastard with a friend?

  • @multimolti intelligence should be awarded shouldn't it :)

  • @multimolti or the cheaper idea.... Get this.. 2 ipod touches.... Douch

  • @PhoenixxineohP iphones r cheaper

    douch

  • @multimolti lol theres something called having a frnd who might also have one. :P

  • einfach genial

    Great application --

  • genial I have a new mindstorm and I program it like you

  • It'strange to see what smart people do in their spare time. Cause allthough I give this idea and all the work you put into it atleast 12 thumbs up. I just can't help wondering why you didn't just walk to the toystore en went and bought yourself a 20 euro/dollar costing RC car lol!

But still, you rock! Maybe next time you can build another robot out of 3 I-phones that controls the remote i-phone car thing :). (and after that a robot that controls the other 2... and so on)

  • I give this robot a big thumbs up for the creativity in the control mechanism. That's really cool. I'm wondering, though, could it be controlled with iPhone's bluetooth?

  • nah. how he did it was using the nxt's color sensor. all his program did was change the color on the ipods screen when he hits a button. if he wants to go forward he'd hit a button and the screen would turn a certain color. the robot can tell what color is on the screen. what your talking about doing would at least take weeks of hacking and writing code.

  • Shoot, nxt has bluetooth built in. I controlled one using a blackberry.

  • yeah but the iPhone's bluetooth capabilities are VERY limited. you'd have to do a lot of work around to get it to work. Or maybe not, maybe you could do it all on the NXT side.

  • there are easier ways to control this vehicle like BT

  • Try getting the BT apps to work on the iPhone.

  • He wanted to use iPhones XD

  • Comment removed

  • nice ^.^

  • You Can't program Romote controlled cars to do what you want

  • nice idea but mutch work?

    its a cool robot

  • you have 2 iphones =) LOL

    Give one me =)=)=)=)

  • Or maybe he has one iPhone and his friend has another one?

  • or maybe he has an iphone and the other one is an itouch

  • omg u lousy person these lego robots are way better man u have no sese in buying cool items

  • cool

  • YOU HAVE TO HAVE 2 IPHONES! LOL

  • two ipod touches will probably do the same.

  • acually it's pretty normal for people to have up to 2 iphone/touch's..

  • what is the music?

  • cool, but who has two iphones?

  • great !!!

  • very cool

  • how much does mindstorm cost, i bet alot

  • about 250 to 300 dollars for the cheap ones which is what i have

  • That is so cool. I wish i had Mindstorms.

  • yep

  • how rich r u

  • Thats pretty cool. We (me and my friends ) are making a robot in robotics and i just wanted to look at some stuff... Oh and thats a cool robot!

  • Che figata!!!! troppo figo!

  • its powered by an i phone?0.o

  • Why not just use the inbuilt Bluetooth control. I am sure it's available for Iphone.

  • i hate all the codes but when you know what your doing its fun to mess with

  • easy !

  • Kinda nolife.

  • Che linguaggio ha usato epr creare il software per iphone?

  • nice video

  • hey i dont have the lego mindstorm but its hard to build thinks whid it im 14 i like teh robot bhilding stuff shoud i buy it or its too difficult to make thise robot things

  • r u kidding? dude its practice....i have lego mindstorms,i can make simple machins ppretty cool,im 12...

  • not at all, though it can take some thought on what you wnat to make. (A mobile beer cooler in my case, and that was for my dad.)

  • how do u programe it?

  • you prolly cant build something like that because you cant spell half the words you just said right

  • fucking bitch

  • Well done.

It seems to me that you could just as well used the Bluetooth comminucation to send direction messages to the NXT. Thereby: not needing the light sensor, Nor the Extra Iphone og PDA. But hey, I'm just another idiot posting messages on the tube.

  • aww it's a wheelchair for your iphone.

    very epic
