@MartinObviously Almost. They've different gear ratios. The saxo vts hits 100kmh from still in 7,8 seconds, the 106 16V in 8,2. The pug is slightly faster: max speed is 203 kmh; the saxo can do 198 kmh

if its french, its wank. get a volvo 340 1.4l. they're RWD, much more better looking than any saxo or 106, more rare, cheap insurance, drift some roundabouts dude! :)

Saxo's are much faster than 106's. The old VTR not the new one as they are heavier, around 1997 - 1998 are the best. Look out for corrosion on the rear axle and check the rear suspension when buying. ;)

The mk1 Saxo engine only has 90 bhp , the phase 2 (2000 onwards) has 98bhp. And is a prettier car. Plus interior is nicer on newer ones.

Dude. Buy the Saxo. I'm a biker & a VW driver & always thought Saxo's were the anti christ until lately when I bought the VTS. I got ribbed by all my mates & took the piss out of myself for a bit until I realised what a great little car it is! These jealous little pricks on here will give you stick, and the Saxo suffers its' problems like any other car but it's quick as hell, looks great, IS reliable, good on fuel. Some drivers let the car down, not the car itself!! (Check insurance 1st!!! )

P.S, when I say problems, I mean the typical french build quality like, leaky sunroof, squeeky seats etc but so far mine's been an absolute trooper! Kept up with a Z4 yesterday, seen off many bigger faster cars...It surprises me every time I drive it to be honest, and i'm used to 185 bhp bikes!? So yeah, ring for insurance (for god's sake take my advice here, I bought mine of a guy who didn't drive it once because he never checked before he bought) and invest, you'll be happy i'm sure.

err no, a litre would not be able to handle that shit, you would have to change the ecu and get a decent turbo kit, but if u can aford £500 then do it but i wouldnt.

Well yeah they are, Saxos and 106s are very similar. Both cars do 1.1's, 1.4s and 1.6 16v. Pretty much same car
