Burt was in the house to inform Lesley what the prosecutor thinks about Laura's and Luke's nightly stay in Wyndam's departmentstore, when they were on the run(Sus had posted all the scenes). But when he came to Lesley's house, Lesley was not there. He only founds a excited Mrs. Grant because the dishwasher was broken and she couldn't get a plumber for repairing. So Burt offers hisself to repair the broken dishwasher.

continuation: When the diswasher was okay agian she gave him a sandwich and a glas of milk. Mrs. Grant had to go and he promises her to leave when he is finish with his dinner. But then Lesley and Rick came in.
