Other than washing the surface before installation is there any other prep work that needs to be done? I had 1 installer tell me that if the vehicle has a coat of wax or polish that it needs to be taken off before applying the vinyl. Is this true, or just his opinion??
@saddy78 We just give the car a good washing. If there is any wax that is visible to the eye just clean it off with rubbing alcohol. In short just wash it well. We have never had an issue with wax.
@dominantgigabitE1 You can wash the car with a soft brush. The film is very tough and you treat it just like the paint on your car. If any thing did happen to the paint protection film it could be removed and replaced and you would be thankful that the paint was protected from what damaged the film.
I have an R8 and , when they did my hood, They told me the Hood was too big to have a one Full piece! I have a small joint at the fenders! Sucks. I see the job here is top quality. Good Work!

We do quite a few R8's and on a car like this the full hood is the only way to go.

@IN2OIL, It all depends on what brand of film you are using. Some of the companies only make film in a 48" width, while others make formats 60" wide.

Good idea. Especially for that car.
