@TheJudger The insurance cost in Brazil is about USD 1000 per year, but few companies offer, ‘cause it’s an old and imported car. Repair's price is cheap compared to other imported cars. It's very hard to find parts here, but it's very easy to import from the US. Thus, the price is very cheap, even with shipping cost, but you have to wait around 15 days for delivery. The price of gas here is about USD 1.56 a liter or USD 5.92 per gallon. To drive 100km it takes around 4.5 gallons or 17 liters.
i have a 92 taurus lx wagon with a modded 3.8 engine in it. its kinda slow but is cruises! i passed a black dude in a 472 ci eldorado rolling on 28's lol! with his shit sounding stereo and ugly women in the back! lol that big ol' wagon blew by him doing about 80!
hey this car is very reliable.. i think this is one of the most underated ford ever. my ford taurus 1994 is still running and it seem like its gona run forever. even though redy to get a new car, im nver selling my taurus. m 27 yrs old and i love the classic look of the 90's.
I have a 98 Taurus, but there are lots of issues about having a car like that in Brazil... like, all of pieces must be imported from US, lots of holes in the streets (at least in São Paulo) and the ridiculous obstacles for such a low car...
I'm thinking of trading it for an EcoSport (brazilian Escape-like Ford)...
anybody know the top speed on the GL i used to have one and i was going down the highway once and i passed a cop doing 87 in a 60 and i still had pedal to go but he said when he turned around and pulled me over, about 20 ft from my house(yea that pissed me off) he said he had to do like 140 to catch up to me, the neddle on the speedo was on the hump that shows wat gear your in and it was there for like 3 miles, so i dont know if i was staying at one speed or if i was accelerating that whole time
to be honest i thought i was going to be stuck with a bad car, but i have an 05 with the vulcan, all i did was put in a high flow filter, and remove the silencer, and it really is a surprise to me, i have surprised many cars with it. i think its all about the takeoff, not just flooring it, but having a feel for the car.
Yes, it is South America. Just read "about this video" and you will know. Oh, maybe miraculous Fiat Doblos! If you don't like Ford Taurus with Vulcan V6, don't waste your time watching this video. Watch Fiat Doblo's videos. Fiat Doblo looks like a squared box with wheels! I imagine how good it runs!
The Vulcan 3.0 V6 is great, I have a Gen 01 that can outrun a lot of jap 4 banger shits. And I even have a BMW...guess what the Taurus feels with a lot more torque.
i am redoing one green one!!!!i hope it sounds like yours....!!!!4.30,5.10,7.10,7,25 is where you can really hear it roar...check taurusclub . com...and dont forget to change oil and filter of gearbox every year!!!!very important for this car
Ey man...nice car...
Love those 90s...
Just wanted to ask how much you pay insurance, repairs, and gas in Brasil...

@micosilberfarb
Thanks for your detailed answers...
Wow...your V6 takes almost so much as my old Grand Cherokee V8 from 95.
And 1000 dollars insurance for one year is very cheap...others in Brasil cant get it less than 1500 for their Grand Cherokees.
Have fun in your Ami-Car, it has much more to offer than those new cola-cans (compact-cars) which are costing monstrous 30 000 oder more Reals...
