  • I have a couple of Go Radio covers on my channel that everyone should check out.

  • both versions are awesome yes in some senses the acoustic has better qualities but this one is pretty damn good too either way you put it your saying that go radio is an amazing band!!!!

  • I also like this version better. I think Jason's voice alone is powerful enough to carry the song with emotion. Honestly, I don't think Erin's voice is that great but I still think the other version is very sweet.

  • today i am knowing that my dad forever is ill...i am so sad..i dont know what to do :'( today was a very bad day...

  • Every time I hear this i think of my cousin. He had three daughters and a son, and was the best father possible. He got rid of everything, including his life insurance, to send his oldest daughter to therapy for depression. He died three years ago unexpectedly of a heart attack at his youngest daughter's fifth birthday party. He and his kids were best friends, and he has to miss all of their lives. I love and miss you Johnny. Rest in peace.

  • This is amazing<3

  • the top comments contradict each other... wtf...

  • r.i.p daddy </3 , cancer got to you, before you could even see me grow nto the young lady i am today </3

  • i like this version but what the song is about i think it sounds better just the piano

  • Check out Bronco Fiasco :)

  • So many whiners... Both versions are fantastic, and that's all.

  • i love this song so much it is so sweet <3

  • This song makes me kinda cry... And Im a guy

  • This one is really nice as well, but the other version has more emotion. You just can't feel the emotion here...

  • NO. the first version is so pure.

i just can't get into this version.

probably because i've listened to the first for years.

  • Ooooh...was not expecting that. I like it though, love the first version though. Interesting (:

  • i like how there are all likes and no dislikes yay!

  • yes the first version has more meaning but the writers are saying the same thing about both songs

  • They are both amazing versions and they both have so much emotion put into them. I think that the original version just has more raw emotions that they weren't able to tap back into when recording this version. Also, the full band takes away from the emotions in his voice in this song as in the last where it was just a piano. They are both great songs sung by amazing people.

  • They're both very refreshing to listen to, I think. To switch back and forth you don't get sick of the song.

  • Who is the female voice?

  • @Gematriaaa1 his sister.

  • @Gematriaaa1 his sister, erin lancaster <33 all 3 of them are amazing.

  • this version is too fast it loses its emotion, but gains a ton of power to it.

    the original is better

  • okay, no. just.. no. first one <3

  • here is the erin version ^^ /watch?v=TkMCclRgdG0

  • open another tab with the original and play both at exactly the same time and it sounds amazing

  • @fr0stybud ur soooooo right, except this version is a little faster so i keep having to pause it for half a second so the other one keeps up lol. but it would sound sooooo good if they combined the two versions!

  • OMG this band is so talented, I'm addicted to them. The whole ablum is amazing and everything they have done is amazing, true musical genius. Spread the word of Go Radio, TELL EVERYONE. :)

  • you can really tell that the band have stepped it up a notch with instrumental talents and the use of entirely real instruments and no MIDI devices its just give the entire album and amazing feel and show what amazing musicians all of these guys really are

  • @MrATokeley or its that they rushed their first EP in which "forever my father" was on (btw, the EP is "welcome to life"), which is exactly what happened. it has nothing to do with their talents, they just rushed out a CD instead of making it sound great. i know everything there is to know about jason lancaster, go radio, and their counterpart (with derick sanders). go radio are a bunch of great guys, met them all. jason lancaster is my idol, and i was speechless when i met him, i almost cried

  • @mhrunner5 well all im gona say is that i love this entire album so so much its amazing and yeah i know it was rushed you can tell but at the same time they still did an amazing job and yeah jason lancaster is just the one guy i wish i could be i mean best voice like EVER and just generally an awsome guy :) i would love to meet him

  • I'd have to say this version has more of a mainstream feel to it, but the first version showed the true raw emotion and power, this version is good... But it definitely doesn't top the first.

  • i dont feel the song..less emotions....

  • is the sister even in this one?

  • I actually like this version better.... (:

  • This version just isn't the same... The first one was so amazing. Sure, the first one had imperfections, but that's what made is so perfect. You could feel their emotion, their pain. It is one of the best songs ever written. This doesn't even come close..

  • @RobertW12321 I feel the same. Its like that with Why I'm Home too. It's like all the soul is sucked out of the songs!

  • @RobertW12321 I have to agree with you completely. I feel like emotion is completely drained in this version. And there aren't harmonies like in the first version. Just not the same. :(

  • @RobertW12321 How could it?? Forever My Father was written the day of the viewing. That emotion could never ever be matched! Jason said himself... the old version had the feeling of pain etched in so deeply and so true. This version is more of a rememberance of his father. :)

  • @RobertW12321 i love both versions, but your right, in the other version there was so much emotion you could practically feel what he was singing about

  • i like the first version soooooo much better.

this one has so much less feeling,

& his sister's voice [erin lancaster] is so much better in the original
