  • I hope printers become obsolete.

  • @TheImpactor I just hope I had a small part of Kodak going out of biz.

Once Kodak was bought out by a Asian company everything went to $hit .

  • Bought a Kodak printer thinking I was going to save money, quality sucks, and you get less ink for your money. You get what you pay for. Kodak sucks, Going back to using HP!

  • The Kodak ESP 5250 will only print some of the time -- When they do they are great -- Unfortunately, knowing when that'll happen is completely unpredictable.

  • Kodak sucks, sucks, sucks. You do not save money on ink, you just receive less ink for the money. Damn printer will stop right in middle of print and say 'printer is out of ink.' Junk!!!!!

  • @901hwx37122 Welcome to my world it gets frustrating .

  • @901hwx37122 I agree this computer sucks but they got my money soo I am fucked it worked long enough for my return warranty to run out 30 days and in that 30 day's I bought 10 ink cartridges

  • I blew mine up...That thing ruined my birthday!!!

  • @YoyoFlamingo Well that sucks . Sorry about your birthday .Get a Canon printer and you will feel better .

Kodak has ruined a lot of people faith in their products.

  • Check out the comments on amazon about Kodak printers, hundreds of complaints about these junk printers. Ink is not cheaper, you pay less because they put less in the cartridge and you get less printed pages due to excessive cleaning. Buy a different brand, and save yourself some grief and money.

  • @davidnap717 Thank You David for your post ... amazon has hundreds of complaints .

How many thousands of people didn't complain and just threw them in the trash ?

Kodak ESP 3 is crap I think I know what the ESP stand for .....

    Extreamly Shitty Printer .

  • this is so true this video i just taken mine back to kodak and got an different printer cos i had the same problem with mine. its suck big time worst printer ever dont by it get any other printer on the market but look for one that has cheap ink as most do now adays dont by an kodak i just got my self an epson

  • @mutleyz Thanks for your comment and sorry you were mislead by Kodaks advertising .

I was too . I know your Epson will be much better and your prints will look a lot better....

Thanks again for your comment .

  • Ok.....I cut out the face of the box that the Ink twin pack (color & black) came in...It has the same amount of colors and graphics that the box the paper comes in. ( I didnt have an empty paper box to cut)I scanned it and printed it and its all but perfect. The red is not quite as bright as the box but it is darn close. I am assuming when you scan the box you cut the face out so the scanner lid closes completley. That is the ONLY thing I dont like about this AIO is the scanner lid...

  • @f62darkstar I just flattened out the box but I also had the ESP3 your model is probably much better .

You also mentioned the reds were not quite as bright . Kodak adverts clam lab quality prints . I say all but perfect and darn close is not lab quality prints . So why do they say that ???

So they can sell more crappy printers ....

Try doing a scan on a ESP3 model ... I already know how it will come out .

  • Great video...I enjoyed it....but I have to say, I have an ESP 5 and it works great! pics look great all the way up to 8.5x11. Ive had it for almost a year now and only 1 printhead failure and NO PAPER jams. Id would have to estimate close tp 1000 pictures....I dont know....maybe I got lucky...but mine works GREAT.

  • You are one lucky guy ,Do me a favor ,this is what started all my problems , Use the box that Kodak paper comes in /it is a great test because there are a lot of colors .Make a scan of the box ... Now look @ your screen or make a print .How does the scan look ? Is it a perfect match ? Look @ the blacks do they have lines ? Now compare the kodak logo ,are the colors correct ? Does your printer really make lab quality prints ?

  • definitely lucky!!! the stars must have been aligned when u bought it!! hehe Pieces of junk!!!! Well for consumers.....excellent money pits for manufacture!

  • Ed Feldman :)

  • Too funny! I've used all my ink trying to do alignments, clean print heads etc. They tell me to print a page every week so things don't dry out. I'll be buying ink cartridges just to print test pages!

  • I went through the same thing . Too bad you don't live in Vegas . I still have some new cartriges I would give them to you .God knows i will never use them .

  • OK I have learned my lesson . NO MORE KODAK !!!

  • Hi, I had a Kodak ESP 5. Oh dear, what a mistake. I ended up smashing it up yesterday with a hammer out of pure frustration! Paper jam, after paper jam! Thought I was going mad. I got tired of unplugging, reinstall method. Kodak brought out version ESP 5250 etc (can't wait for the reviews lol). Also, their software can crash ur computer, and u have to completely reformat. Quality video and true.

  • missstarmag Thank you for your comment . I just hope people will learn from our mistakes .

  • I have a lot of friends that love HP .

I have been using Canons as I do a lot of photo work .

My big mistake was getting a kodak ,I now have a Canon again and it's been working great .

Sorry to hear about your Kodak moment or in my case months , Yes it took 6 months to get a refund from Kodak . I think they had seller remorse .

  • kodak printers suck just traded one in got 50

dollars and bought a real printer hp6500

  • You are a wise man . I feel sorry for the guy that bought your Kodak printer . Glad to hear you got a real HP printer , Thanks for your comment .

  • I got it home I was happy it did not take up a lot of space but the program to get it runing was a pain and the second time i use it paper jam , and i shake a lot . lot time to print a picture and it take a lot of ink to do a 8.5 11 I went back two days latter to bring it back at wallmart they where on sale I got an hp printer I am happy with it

  • Fuzzy Wallmart at least they don't hassle you to get an exchange , I am dealing with Kodak ,They sent me a W-9 form to fill out to just start the process of getting a refund ,I asked what about the extra ink and Kodak paper I bought ? They are not sure about that , which means I,m screwed .

  • possible because you pluged it into a waver strip nub, mine works fine

  • Les Paul I had so many problems w/ the Kodak printer and kodak did keep replacing them .But I was told by the kodak tec. people not to plug it into a waver strip , and it still didn't work .I am glad yours is working , Question have you tried to do a scan ? They come out like shit .Try scanning the cover of a box of kodak paper , and really look at the colors and see if they match / they won't .

  • 162 Views, dude, you're cranking!!!!

  • Onjo I am starting to think I am not the only one unhappy with their Kodak printers . And I did send another E mail to kodak about the status of my non-working printer . Still No Reply ...

    What a surprise .

  • you didn't have to use effects and juice up how bad these printers are. john dykstra couldn't make effects more disastrous than kodak printers ACTUAL performance. simply garbage. oh, and these things 'use' ink even when the printer doesn't function...

  • Thanks for the comment Norm

I did have a lot more footage , of bad scans and close ups of ink , but I am not the best editor and the project was getting very long / and Kodak called and wanted me to ship the printer back , so I slapped this together , I also wanted to do a scene on the phone w/ customer service but they would last over 2 hours /Thank you very much is there anything else I can help you with ? Yes the printer is not working / thank you very much is there anything else ?

  • Very nice video ...I still have my 5300 Kodak, but can only use it for scanning. I hae been through 3 printer heads (which Kodak replaced free)...but I have never been able to get a Photo quality print, using Kodak Premium Photo Paper. It does not even print BW documents properly...they are Gray and white. Its a big Rip off, and Kodak should be sued.

  • Thanks Shep

I also went through some print heads , And was told by Kodak I should use their paper , I never did get a good scan ever . Kodak claims we should get lab quality prints ,If a lab sold prints like ours they would be out of business , Thanks for your comment .Sorry for your problems .

  • Yes I should have gone to Costco , .

My kodak moments are over .

    Thanks for your comment

  • Bob I hear what your saying and I agree w/ you , But unlike yours I have had nothing but problems . I wish mine would have worked as it was advertised .

  • Another thing to consider in my opinion is the weight of the printer. It's a litmus test that I use. If it's an all in one and light as a feather, something is wrong. The Kodak printers feel like solid, sturdy machines.

  • I have had no problems with my Kodak printer. Our children broke part of the paper tray, but it still works. The best feature of course is the ink costs. I can get the color cartridge with 400 sheets of 4x6 photo paper for 18 bucks. It's a great deal.

  • I was also lured by the ink cost , but never really had the chance to find out as ,I had nothing but problems , I also had a lot of issues with the scan quality it was very bad . Bob I am glad you got a good one and thanks for taking the time to leave your comment .

Question do you think if I sent you $18 bucks you could print some lab quality photos for me ? I will even send you the extra ink cartriges I bought .

  • I'm no printer technician or anything, so I don't know what "lab quality" is. But I've been satisfied with my results so far. I print plenty of photos and they look great.

Have you thought about getting a different printer?

  • Bob "lab quality " prints are what Kodak claims our printers will produce I think it's just some ad agency buzz words ... What is lab quality ? I had a photo taken in Mexico and the guy had 2 buckets and dipped the photo in them and handed me the prints , would that be considered a lab ? Bob I looked at your videos your a great artist you don't need a printer you can draw anything you need . The mountian art looked great and your vids are very well done . Bob yes I did get a dif printer

  • Mine worked long enough for the warantee to expire. Then it acted just like that.

  • That sucks ... !!!

Question : Did you buy another one ?

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment .

  • I'm always playing with these comment thingys wait until you see video comments to thank me LOL.

To answer your question no, I bought a Brother to replace it.

  • Well like the people at the Ashland Bar always say ...

    " Good For You "

Video comments from the Ashland Bar What is worse than a printer that dosn't work ?

  • hmmmm I'm stumped tell meh what is worse than a printer that doesn't work?

If you ever make it to Chicago I'll have to buy you a beer at the Ashland Bar.

  • Getting 4 replacement printers from Kodak

    That do not work .

After all my Kodak moments which turned into Kodak months , I could use a cold beer , Thanks Rich .

  • I gues I an lucky mine work fine.

  • Blue ,The biggest problem I had was the scan quality ,

Then after 4 replacments nothing worked except 1 red flashing light .

I am glad yours is still working , and yes you are very lucky , Thanks for your comment .

Question : Would you buy another one ?

  • hmm... well, I would have taken this review more seriously if it wasn't for all the jokes. I'm gonna have to check for more reviews.

  • I am serious , OK try this go to a best buy and take something with a lot of colors ,try doing a scan and see how it comes out . But thanks for leaving a comment ,I hope you have better luck than I did if you decide to buy one .

  • Thanks Joe,

Now, I won't buy one of these for sure!!!

    So much for customer service!!

The bigger the company, the worse the customer service!!

    Ty

  • Thanks Ty

And thanks for your support .

You sound like you have had your share of problems .

It's still not over I called to find out about my refund

and was told , the person in charge of that was not in today . I asked if they recived the printer I sent back ,

they said they didn't know .

  • I was just about to buy one of these. But now that I has seen this video I will never buy another Kodac product ever again!

    Thanks for posting!

    Ms. Georgina Latosi

  • Thanks Georgina

compare and shop around also if you get a chance and you see the printer in a store ask to see them to do a scan / copy / and print a photo . Also on the scan try to use the cover of a box of photo paper , it has a lot of colors , and makes a good test ,see if the colors match and there is no banding on the blacks .

  • Hey, not so fast. Have you tried using it when you are taking a bath? Probably not. Guys like you are always so quick to condemn when you haven't exhausted all possibilities.

  • It's probably not a good idea ,As Kodak told me to not plug into a power strip and either take it to a friends with a PC and download more drivers and use a power outlet with nothing else on the circut so the 110 volts and the bath water might damage the printer and then the red flashing light wouldn't work either . But thanks for the suggestion maybe you could pass it on to Kodak .

  • Wow, I always wanted a plastic box with blinking lights, now I know where to get one. 5 stars for the new wig. Where's the teeth?

  • Onjo I am sorry , it dosn't have blinking lights , It only has 1 red blinking light ,indicating no ink even if the ink is new and full and the print head is new and the printer is new and it is on a single power source and the power supply is new , Still no printing or scanning or copy function Just a plastic box with 1 blinking light .

  • Then forget it. I want multiple blinking lites.

  • What kind of printer do you use ?

How is it working out for you ?

    Is the ink expensive ?

Does your printer have a lot of blinking lights ?

Would you be interisted in a Kodak ESP 3 ?

Can you print lab quality photos ?

  • HP Photosmart C4200.

It does okay, Iike my HP Laserjet B/W better. It's cheaper.

Yes, Ink is more expensive than blood.

    Lots of blinking lights.

    Hell no.

Never tried printing photos. Ink is expensive.

  • Im not sure if this helps or not but I noticed the power button was only in stand-by mode. In stand-by mode the printer lights will work it just wont print or do anything else,,,, just flip the switch to the left and it should work fine.

    Cheers

Davyo @ CUrl Up N DYe hair salon in Las Vegas

  • Well this has not helped out at all ,as it was not in stand-by mode it was in no print / no scan / no copy / no work mode . I called Kodak today to find out what the real problem was and they said ,the person that is in charge of my case is not in today , I asked if the printer arrived there yesterday and was told , Definitely Maybe , but then again , maybe not . They also said we do not test printers here , I said why did I send it there , They said so we can test it ...WHAT ???
