  • Monsoon is the worst actor ever

  • This is way too fake, with fake punches. I'm glad people enjoyed it but I had to stop it halfway.

  • Wow. Gorilla Monsoon was a legit 6'6" even in the 1990s. To see Andre towering over him like this is just amazing.

  • makes you appreciate how fast boxers really punch when you how slow these guys are

  • 27 Miz-loving ignorant morons didn't like this video.

  • Two of the greatest ever. Period. They are missed.

  • Awesome match,a classic of Wrestling.

Antonino Rocca is argentine wrestling legend.

Soy de Argentina y amo el Wrestling/Love the Wrestling.

  • Thx for the download! Neva seen Andrea this young and neva seen Gorilla in any kind of match. Man Andrea was pretty quick m agile for his massive size. Lord A. Hayes still says Andrea at 7'4

  • this was awsome to see. Ive never seen this and i never herd monsoon talk about this boxing match either. Has any one herd Monsoon talk about this?

  • Classic

  • Try shaking Andre the giants hand, made mine look like a baby's!

  • LMAO!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!

  • think Gorilla is big at 6' 4 1/2" 350+?

    try Andre at 7' 0" 470+!

  • damn i like old school wrestling

  • I don't undertand why they're boxing.

  • @outbackdakota1 I learned a long time ago that overweight and out of shape are two very different things. Judging Gorilla by his weight would be as big a mistake as judging Roy "Big Country" Nelson or "Butterbean" Eric Esch by their weight. In college Robert Marella was a top NCAA wrestler at 350lbs, and as Gorilla he was one of Vince McMahon Sr's chief go-to guys. If a young stud needed some extra training or an ego check it was Gorilla who provided it. Nobody messed with the Gorilla!

  • Fake piece of shit!!

  • @dapunisher1000 all entertainment is fake, you moron.

  • @officialvangcreative

what an idiotic statement "all entertainment is fake" and I am the moron? Real sport(s) entertainment like boxing, MMA, football, hockey, basketball, baseball, and etc. is fake? Concerts are "fake", only movies where actors pretending is fake. You know what the difference is between professional wrestling and MMA is wrestling is like being with a fuck doll while MMA is like being with a real with woman. Stop playing with fuck dolls MORON

  • @dapunisher1000 Jesus, I couldn't care less for fucks sake - I'm sick of people on the internet being assholes to other human beings, I'm sick of people not being able to HANDLE other peoples opinions and debate or argue their case without being a complete piece of shit about it. If you want to have a conversation like an adult, then let me know - otherwise I'm busy caring for my dying father and I have NO time for this hateful waste of time.

  • @officialvangcreative Listen toyour comment you stupid ass.... you started it.... maybe you should SPEND MORE TIME TAKING CARE OF YOUR FAMILY then worried about peoples comments about a FAKE SPORT.... IF you can't HANDLE OTHER PEOPLES COMMENTS THEN DON'T READ THEM OR COMMENT ABOUT IT ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE NO TIME !!!! HYPOCRITE!!!!!!!!

  • @dapunisher1000 Why are you moaning on a professional wrestling video, if you hate it so much, you cruel little boy? Hypocrite? Look in the mirror.

  • @officialvangcreative You are about the dumbest piece of monkey shit on here you started this.... my initial comment "fake ass shit" is my opinion... I can opine on any video on here.... you personally attacked me and my opinion..you should just change your name to the officialcreativefag because you like some gay ass shit like this video. Also, you don't know how to properly put an argument together nor understand the concept of what a hypocrit is. Dumbass!!!!!!

  • the comentator said this was in the roberto clemente coliseum but this was at the hiran bithorn stadium

  • @durango448007 Exactly. Roberto Clemente Colosseum is an indoor facility. Hiram Bithorn (Baseball) Stadium is an outdoor facility.

  • Andre always win he been undefeated for 10 years 1977 to 1987. He pwoned Gorrilla

  • andre knocked him out cold as a milkshake.

  • did you get this from the top 50 superstars dvd?

  • This is some priceless footage! Thanks for posting this!

  • Oh my god!!! This is a true JEWEL!!!

  • really bad quality!

  • andre 8'5. hahahahahhaha his about 5'8 cause when he stands next to hogan he's almost his height and hogan is only 6'5

  • Andre The Giant was around 6'7. Vince McMahon had Andre stand on a platform during interviews to make him appear over 7 feet.

  • @UntilWeFindtheCure ur wrong . he did stand on a platform , but he was most certainly 7 ft tall and was at one time taller than that before his back and skeleton beagn breaking down . He was not as tall as he was often billed but he was taller than 6'7 i can tell you that.

  • Sad.

  • God damn Andre is so big!!!!

  • Not exactly a proud moment in the career of either of these two legendary men . . .

  • andre throws a pretty good jab

  • That's definitely NOT boxing...No fuck, its MMA!!!

  • @peedoperecords: Your screen name is the silliest name I have ever seen on YouTube and THAT is saying something!

  • this is the silliest shit i ever seen in wrestling & that's saying something.

  • i have the movie.andre and wilt look to be the same height.andre has a stoop and wilt was always billed at 7 1.wilt himself claimed to have grown since his college days and may have been 7 2?of course he claimed to have bedded thousands of women too!i still belive andres claim that he was examined in japan during his first tour there.his height was 7 2.5 at that time.he was around 27 years old.at the end ,he might have been 6 10 or 11.i saw andre several times in the early 70s.he was huge!

  • they should have done giant gonzalaz vs Andre the Giant

  • it's really cool that gorilla monsoon videos on here give suggestions on the right hand side of actual gorilla fight videos

  • well this is a first for me, a fake boxing match..

  • This may just be the most embarassing thing i've seen in awhile....WooW

  • retarded.. sad it's not showing any real fights

  • terry was never taller than 6 6.andre was billed as tall as 7 6 but in reality was about 7 2 at his peak.his hair was 2-3 inches high at this time.as he aged and his many surgeries, andres height had lessened.at the end he may have been 6 10 - 6 11.mark calloway is 6 8.hogan may be 6 5 now.i myself have lost about 1.5 inches off my height through the years.

  • To the comments about Andre's height.. I would have to go back and check older videos with Hogan because Hogan was always billed at 6'9 during his early WWF days.. when he went to WCW he was billed 6'7 but he wasn't even that cause the undertaker was taller then him by a bit and wiki lists hogan as 6'4. So Andre probably was around 7ft. But every source lists him at 7'4 even newer sites that list guys closer to their actual heights so i dont know.

  • @italibello hogan has shrunk over the years, he used to be 6 10 but osteperosis and steroids has caused him to lose his height

  • My head would obliterate if it got punched by Andre the Giant!!

  • r.i.p Gorrilla the TRUE voice of wwf/wwe x

  • God. What a load of shite!

  • sorry banenwn,i was in the wrestling game over 30 years.tom was 6 11 and played college ball.he has a picture of himself with andre circa 1976.andre and his hair were at least 4-5 inches taller.after he cut his hair and had back surgery,he was noticeably shorter.he was slightly taller than wilt chamberlain in a movie they made together.wilt was listed at 7 1.andre may have been 7 1-7 2 back then.other surgeries followed and at the end he looked to be closer to 7 foot.in his prime, andre was 7 4

  • @sampson1959 i agree the 70's was Andre's best years, it was his decade, he towers over Gorilla Monsoon, who is a legit 6'6, he stood next to Muhammad Ali and he was 3 inches taller, cause ali is 6'3, he is huge and incredibly tall in this video, monsoon comes to Andre's neck, no way Andre has any lifts in his wrestling shoes, even if he did, it couldn't be that much cause if it was Andre would barely be able to move.

  • @sampson1959 comon man lets be serious.you go on any site that actually have proffesionals that can measure height to within an inch knowone on those sites believe andre was more then 7 ft and 7'4 is laughable.and i seen the wilt andre pics andre was about the same height as wilt but what you fail to mention is andre was wearing cowboy boots which added 2.5 inches to his height and wilt wore flat soled shoes.andre measured 6'9 3/4 at his death so your telling me he lost 6" in height? lol

  • @sampson1959 seriously man i been doing this for years andre was NEVER 7'4.I might buy 7" at his absolute max but probably 6"11.hogan was 6'5 at wrestlemania 3 tell me then why did andre only have hogan by 5" in there stare down.he was 6"10 in wm 3.another thing when he broke into the awa he was listed at 6'10 well that would have been his prime and i never heard of wrestlers being underbilled sorry just dont happen that way.I can also prove to you andre never lost height email me and ill show u

  • @banenwn your numbers contradict themselves from one sentence to another. you sound like you've got good knowledge but just get some help of someone who's numerate. lovely video though. good to see these guys putting on a show. was a bit shit but something different and was entertaining, which was the idea

  • @sampson1959

Wilt is noticeably taller than Andre in the movie they did, Conan the Destroyer.

Andre was perhaps 6'11 at his peak, he was never as tall as billed.

  • @sampson1959 andre was shorter than wilt in the movie..google the pics

  • @sampson1959 Oh bullshit, grow up...Andre was 6 foot 10, 7 foot with the afro. He just looked like a freak, and he was, but don't like to the people.

  • @altohart :relax!and i am grown.over 60 years old.i saw andre several times throughout his career.i do believe he was 7 2 at one time.back in the 80s,andre was much shorter than i remembered him.i guess we will never know his true height now.no need to insult anyone.healthy debate.my best to you

  • @sampson1959 nope on being taller than Wilt Chamberlin in the Conan movie, if that's what you're referring to. I just came here from that video link. I wasn't in the wrestling game for 30 years, but I have a pair of eyes hahahaha.

  • @sampson1959 Do you know a lot about 1970's era wrestling & Andre the Giant? As a child, I saw something on TV one time, but I can not verify it anywhere! I saw 6 or 7 Hell's Angles, jump in a wrestling ring & beat the shit out of Andre with chains & brass knuckles! It looked real. I was only about 7-10 years old when I saw this. I can find not a single mention of this anywhere online, but I saw it! Do you know anything about it?

  • He was pictured with Chamberlain and was significanty shorter. The pic is very easy to find online.

  • @sampson1959: Andre was 7'4" and around 525 or so at his heaviest. Along with distorting how many World Titles Flair has held in his career (10 NWA, 8 WCW, 2 WWE and 2 "WCW International"= 22, not 15, 16, 17, etc.), I get annoyed when people suggest that Andre wasn't as big as he was. R.I.P. Andre and Monsoon. :(

  • man Monsoon that big!!!! wow

  • 6:01

  • That's (sports) entertainment!!

  • back in 76 we saw andre here in columbus.our friend tom went with us.tom was 6 11.standing next to andre tom was at least 4-5 in iches shorter.andres hand were like catchers mitts.later after all the surgeries i am sure he lost height.in his prime he was about 7 4.of course his hair was at least 3 inches high.look at that fro!

  • @sampson1959 if your friend was 6'11 which i highley doubt he would have been about the same height as andre.andre was never anywhere near 7'4

  • @banenwn Good white genetics produce monstrously tall people. My friend was 100% pure norse and he was almost 7 feet tall. His whole family was Norwegian pure for longer than anybody had record (more than 100 generations), and they're all monstrously tall. I guess that's what happens when you're part of the Master Race, you have physical and mental traits people can't even comprehend much less believe.

  • WOW I had this on a colisiem home video of Andre back in the 80's lost the tape long ago. They mentioned that Monsoon was the only guy ever to box andre and wrestle Muhhamed Ali GREAT FIND THUMBS UP! they said there had been a big storm and this Entire event including this match was not even planned / schedualed they did it to perk the people up after the storm

  • FAKE AS FUCK!!

  • The original giant right hand before the big shows. Two awesome entertainers R.I.P. Andre and gorilla.

  • this isnt even a real fight its fake blows look at the retarded shit

  • @777tws what did you expect when you saw andre the giant vs gorilla monsoon? dipshit!

  • @777tws many of the blows are landing you are a liar!

  • My God, the toilets in the rest-room must be huge !

  • @VegardMinde ... and those CannonBall Poops... DAYyum...talk about Splash-Back...

  • @VegardMinde

    aww

  • I thought this was boxing then get stuck into UFC.

  • R.I.P. Andre The Giant and Gorilla Monsoon. Wrestling hasn't been the same since you left us.

  • what are you watchin

  • @minpinful Who are you to judge these guy, you micro tiny brain!

  • This match will be on the WWE Top 50 Superstars of All Time dvd that comes out next month. Looking forward to this owning match

  • jersey walcott former Heavyweight Champion of the World Referede the infamous Ali Vs Liston 2 the phatom punch and was one the slickest fighters of all time. Wrestling and boxing was cool back in the day

  • Though Andre the Giant dwarfed Gorilla Monsoon, Gorilla is still a big guy being around 6'5''-6'6''.

  • Is that "Judo" Alfred Hayes? I wondered what had happened to him?

  • Gorilla was good commentaor later in his career as a wrestler he sucked.

  • @veeseee128 The guy was a legend

  • I agree with you NWpowerhouse, "Superstar" Billy Graham said that Andre couldn't bench press very much, but he could manhandle you in the ring with his size.

  • lololol andre could seriously kill someone I bet... I'm sure hes gotta be holding back on all of this

  • wow this is just classic, i mean Gorrilla and Andre, how epic is that. the match was a WTF but these two legends in the ring was pretty cool

  • This is so funny! Lord Alfred can't keep from laughing as he tries to describe it. Classic!

  • @steveo288 You can tell that Andre is smiling the entire match

  • fag wrestlers should try playing rugby.

  • @roas2 Andre did play rugby and soccer for france's national team when he was young

  • Best Andre the Giant Story I know. Andre was famous for his consumtion of alcohol.

One night at a bar some guys were cocking off & got him mad & he chased them out of the bar they got into their car & he turned it on its roof with them inside it.

That's the strength this man posessed.

  • GuySeriously .. You seriously need to do some research In his early 20's Andre was a monster He was infamous in the eurpoean wrestling circuit for not only drop kicks but from going off the second rope with drop kicks & clotheslines. One of his absolute favorite moves was to literally body press over his head & throw his opponent 4 to 5 rows into the crowd. He could hold any title at any time he chose to. He only lost a match when it was to build heat & gate draws.

  • This is embarassing most of these wrestlers are fat out of shape men who couldn't wrestle.

Andre was a terrible wrestler and shit compared to people like the big show. You know the big show in wcw and early wwf was doing dropkicks all the time? he could ever do a kick up.

  • @GuysSeriously Andre The Giant could do a dropkick. He was very agile.

Paul Wight had the same disease, which is acromegaly. He got successful surgery in the early 90s to stop the disease. Andre The Giant couldn't get that. It evolved, and Andre was a victim of his own time.

So, to be fair, when they were both in their prime, they were very similar. However, Andre's strength advantage is undeniable. He wasn't like any other human being. He truly was the Eighth Wonder Of The World.

  • @DanyMercury2 actually he was offered treatment by a Japanese doctor when he was wrestling in Japan..but Andre refused..multiple times.

  • @Blondsparky I never heard or read anything about that. It's been documented that he got surgery for his back in the late 80s, and surgeries for his knees in 1992.

I heard Bobby Heenan say that the surgery he really needed, the one Big Show got, wasn't advanced enough for him to try it.

Where did you hear/read that ? I'd like to read it too. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong.

I just like to know all the facts. The year[s], the names of the people, why he would have declined, etc...

  • @DanyMercury2 saw it on an A&E tribute special to Andre the Giant. The doctor diagnosed him with acromegaly and offered some form of treatment, don't know if it was surgery or drugs to suppress the giantism..don't know All I remember is Andre refused tx for his acromegaly because he knew it made him unique and different from all the other wrestlers. He did get treatment for his back and knees, though.

  • @Blondsparky Ah, alright. I'll try to watch that.

If it is indeed true, it cost him his life at a very young age. I would call that bad judgement.

Well, thank you for the information.

  • Look for old matches of these guys. I remember a young Andre that weighed about 350. He had washboard abbs huge arms & shoulders. He had a standing drop kick & many other moves that only a couple of big men could do. Monsoon to had a huge drop kick, headscissors and stamina that was rivaled only by Sammartino, Gagne, Thesz. Yes Monsoon was not a body builder, HE WAS A 2 TIME NCAA CHAMPION He could wrestle well. Many old timers in their prime today would destroy anyone today

  • Andre was not 7ft 4 it's impossible because there's lots of pics with him next to Chamberlain the basketball player and he's a legit 7ft 1 and andre looked a little shorter than him. Andre was no bigger than 7ft in his prime.

  • @GuysSeriously It has been documented that Andre The Giant was 6'11, so you are right.

In the late 80s, he may have been even shorter, due to surgeries.

  • That is definitely not boxing!

  • Comment removed

  • It was a boxing gimmick match because they had "Jersey" Joe Wilcox as the referee..

  • @joeynuggs Jersey Joe Walcott

  • Andre looks at about his peak height here. About 7 feet even if you ask me.

  • look at the size of andre i mean gorrila wasnt a small guy 6,5 but he pales in comparsion unbelivble.

  • lord alfred hayes was announcing for the wwf in 1977??

  • I miss Gorilla Monsoon. A lot.

  • Lord Alfred Hayes commentating!

  • Fake

  • punches are too worked so its too much of a give away that its not real, still amazing so many people thought this was real back in the day

  • damn never knew Andre every boxed before and monsoon is fucking big. Everytime they would show him as the commentator they usually only showed his upper body

  • andrea was more stronger than a giant

  • PBS does wrestling ,I LOVE it. Vote Democrat!

  • monsoon was way past his prime here, he wasnt as bloated and bald looking when he was younger

  • hulk hogan was more than any 6"4, and andre was 7"0 even , get it right guys

  • @bluegrassman776 - I suspect Andre's height was exaggerated like a lot of the wrestlers at the time, Andre was probably about 6ft 10" legit and Hogan about 6ft 5".

  • @mjp102 No, a coroner measured Andre's body and found it exactly 7 feet. Also, Andre, having acromagely, aged faster than normal humans, so his joints shrunk down shrunk him down in his old age. Plus he had back surgery

  • This clip is priceless! Andre vs. Gorilla Monsoon with Jersey Joe Walcott as referee!

Who cares who was bigger and how much did he weigh.

    Me like!!

  • Andre was apparently only around 6'10" and 380-400 here. Around wrestlemania 1-4 he was about 420-460 max.

  • I sort of Disliked Monsoon after a while. He came out during the Andre/Wepner Match and began kicking Wepner after Andre tossed him over the rope. Didn't think it was his place. In a column he wrote for the Phila Journal he sort of dared a guy to get into the ring with him who had the NERVE to question the 'Credibilty' of the 'Sport'. Rather than ignore such comments, He would get annoyed insist that everything was on the level.

  • afred hayes announcing this match is fkn funny as hell lol laughing at Andre taking low blows 2:16

  • Hogan admitted as such - Hogan admitted that Andre would have crusshed him

  • The giant swatted stud like a fly - none in reality would take on Andre - his vice grip with his hand would crush your skull.

  • Hahaha, I'm surprised Andre was quite quick back in the days.

  • the worse boxing ever!!!!!!! ahahahha...foremann rule...!!!

  • Commentator Lord Alfred Hayes totally missed Gorilla spitting mist into Andre's eyes to start the 3rd round. LOL

  • Gorilla Monsoon laid out in a puddle left after a tropical downpour... Wow.

  • besides,takers career was started in 1984 >_>

  • hmm how old was gian here he was on 90s?

big john studd shulld come to slap giant down? giant is a monster i get a bad nightmare when i heard he laught i sleep bad

  • thats the worse boxing ever.....lol

    wtf

  • shit undertaker shulld been there to help gorila.

  • @lovham89 Dude... taker was only a young teenager at the time. Lol

  • fome la wuea

  • thats a big man

  • hahaha this is comic

  • you do realize that this is pro wrestling.

  • @MonsterInMe2000

    This isn't MMA, you boob!

  • @MonsterInMe2000 Wait, pro wrestling is FAKE? This is NEWS, man, NEWS! No one has ever noted this before. You, man, are a GENIUS to figure that out!

  • That's all the fight would be. One punch. Then Andre getting hancuffed and charged with manslaughter.

  • @dpman72 I guess this was the counter match to the famous Monsoon/Ali match only with Gorilla now boxing. IN any event, this was great!

  • @dpman72 You are right, but the clipping was exciting none the less!

  • @dpman72 People with Acromegaly are NOT strong people, particularly for their size, it's one of the traits that goes with the disease.

Andre was probably the strongest man who ever lived with the disease their whole life, but fact is, he still had it, and didn't have nearly the strength that everyone claimed. And, if you notice, he's virtually immobile even here, back in 77'..

  • @NWpowerhouse85 Well he was able to pick up Hogan and John Studd even in his later years and body slam them. They weighed over 300 pounds! Disease or not, that takes some strength. And don't forget, Andre didn't work out like the other wrestlers.

  • I never knew Monsoon was a Heel.

  • Yup. Had a huge feud with Bruno for the title.

  • @Fartingbellybutton Seriously? he was a heel most his Career, He was famous for grabbing and bodyslaming Muhhamed ali leading later to their match. He was one of the baddest and most feared wrestlers of his time.

He was only loved later as a commentator ( take notes Michal cole )

  • monsoon was a monster.

  • IS SHOW .....

  • that last punch looked real though

  • this dosent look real. andre would have won in like 2 punches

  • This is a farce....

  • This is totally ridiculous! Wtf is up with the lame "boxing"?

  • uh rip the man talking plz

  • <
