I love how happy she is. ^__^ I'd be the exactly the same way, except I'd be more likely to keep it all bottled up, and then go out into the furthest part of the gardens to let out a single, high-pitched squeak of absolute glee. XD
i dun understand, what's the hype about Ryokan, from the video it looks fairly simple, the commodities really worth the money value ?
let's say the Onsen adds value to the experience, but its function is similiar to a spa, infact langsana spa is even better in my opinion, so what makes the Ryokan special ?
I'll definitely have to stay at least one night in a Ryokan when I go to Japan in September. I'm a little scared cause they have so many rules, and I'm scared I'd screw it up, but I could do one night in one of those! It looks like fun :)
They are certainly more expensive than western style hotel rooms. This Ryokan had both western and japanese style. I think it worked out to around £100 a night.
It was lovely. We only got to stay there a couple of nights as it was all booked up. If you're visiting Japan i highly recommend you stay in a Ryokan for at least some of your time there!
The Ryokan is called the Watazen Ryokan, Kyoto. They have both Tyokan and western style rooms. The Ryokan style rooms are more expensive than western style but you have to stay in them at least once on your travels! It's not an easy hotel to find but well worth it. Friendly staff and they also have free wifi in the lobby.
thank you muchly! good information; noted. will give it a look-see. no video though, i'm afraid. i doubt youtube would post, nor would the gf even if they did, wink wink nudge nudge say no more say no more.

Why is it more expensive than western style hotels? Is it the services such as the dinner and bed making (if im correct) that make it?

In Japan I would stay in Ryokan all the time. I can stay in regular hotels in Europe, but you can only stay in a Ryokan in Japan.
