oh dear, save the whale, save the planet !!,a few 2 strokes wont make any difference, and with injected/lambda/ecu new tech 2 strokes being developed see thetwostrokeshop + pivotal engines, soon they will be back,so all you whining gits shut up unless you know what your on about,2 strokes are smaller, yet same power, lighter, easier to fix ,cheaper to build + dont get me started on bmw's or poxy hondas,2 stroke adrenalin rush is a REAL bike rush,if your scared, get a car
Talk about a mean man eater, that baby will no doubt fly. It's been a long time since I sat on one of those and it was a stocker, lord only knows how fast this baby is. Really a nice looking bike.
you forgot streetbikes, cars, generators, ships, beating the hell out of crappy 4 strokes...
there is NO reason to buy a 4 stroke at all. mordern technologies have made the 2stroke more efficient more powerfull and cheaper than any 4 stroke. look into direct injection, variable trapping valve etc
@GeSTalllt NO NO you must remember every other stroke is powerstroke not good for long term running and forget boats even though MERCURY make great one the OPTIMAX ...why because---? sometimes you need very smooth and very fuel efficient Egine ie Generator or Boats...2 strokes not good for that I know.
what are you talking about? i've driven 15k km with my rs 125 with the first piston still counting and this is a racing engine... im talking about durable car engines
they are more effecient than 4 strokes (trapping valve direct injection variable combustionchamber) and will last just as long bc they are not race tuned.
@GeSTalllt Hey go for it --Probably take out any INDY car and power to weight ratio wow---but again--- not to Fuel efficient. Try it who knows maybe you have something..don't know why they don't use them in INDY type cars??
Very nice work. Listening to the bike run, it sure sounds like it rev's much quicker than a standard H2. Has the crankshaft or flywheel been lightened? She sure does tach up quick. Again, love the bike.
@vezgu depends how you look on the problem, acctually it cools and warms the most properly since it warms and cools evenly, not like the side ones which are coold only on the half:) nice bike Ralf, i love two stroke engines, i made myself a pipe for mini moto, but its not as good as yours:D
@denknietna ''shuld be pretty good'' u dont really know how the engine acts when theres no place to distribute the heating. anyway the engine will heat up like hell no matter how slow u try to rev it. and when the side cylinders heat up the middle?
my dad owns the same bike for about 15 years now and he rebuild the top end just once..
give me one reason why almost all of these bikes are still running great today.. guess your gonna say they have never been used.. ass long as you wil not keep the gas pinned for 10miles long it won't blow dude.. fairytail stuff bullshit talking vegzu.. you just don't know how to maintain a 2 stroke probably
Wow !! That is a work of art !! Single sided swingarm !! Those pipes !! The carbon !! You`ve giving me a few ideas i can tell you !! REALLY well done mate !! BIG RESPECT !!
That's one hell of a bike, Mate. You've done a great job with it. I'll bet you give all of the 'modern guys' (who don't understand that newer isn't always better) a run for their money. I still reckon that my '85 GSXR is one of the best bikes ever built. No hype.....just balls.
I can fully understand why a young guy would dismiss such a bike as a 'Piece of crap'. True....it's an antique, in this modern, sterile world. The one thing that you missed out on, in your life, is the oppertunity to make a bike, and make it go faster. The whole equation has been done for you, and the adventure is lost. I refuse to get into an argumet with you, but talk to some old guys, and see what you have missed out on. This is a 'Golden age' bike. A time when we worked hard for each mile.
My humblest apologies, in which case. So many young guys are 'lost' with the sheer greatness of such machines. Give me a KR 800, or a TZ 750, any day, over a newer bike. They ooze character. I went out to play with my KTM, the other day, and realised that all I could do, was click some dials. Fortunately, they still make beer the same as when I was a young buck, so you can still have a coldie, as you polish the thing. Take care.
Very handsome indeed. How many BHP with that larger bore chief, and did you open the ports up a bit as well ? I recall seeing a Scandinavian {Swedish, I think} firm that got 127BHP at the crank after tuning an H2. Let's hope they upgraded the clutch to match !
100 is plenty. I really regret not having bought a new purple H2 way back in 1975 when I had the chance. A guy put me off by telling me that the handling was bad but so was that of the 500 triple I bought instead ! As you know, with a little work, both models can be made to handle pretty well and they're such exciting bikes to own and ride, much moreso than most modern machines.
Have to stay home in Wales Ralf, I look after my mother who's 85 and not in very good health. My own isn't brilliant either, I have spinal arthritis. Riding a bike with low bars would be terrible for me so I ride a Suzuki SV1000 N now. I need to find a goodlooking woman to carry on the pillion though !
