  • A GOOD Terminator game? Well that's a first.

  • OMFG, this was made by Bethesda!! KEWWWLLLL!! Please make another one!

  • There's a way to make this game look even better: install Skynet AFTER installing Future Shock. The Skynet instalation will ask if you have Shock installed. Say yes, and install Skynet.

Now, when starting a new game on Skynet, you can select Future Shock. Since Skynet supports higher resolution using VESA, you'll play Future Shock at great graphics for a Dos game. :)

  • bethesda always makes good games, but why was fallout one not like this

  • Dude, those gun sprites looks EPIC! Why haven't they been used in a Doom mod yet?

  • Looks Cool for that time

  • 1:34, if you jump off that ledge you are stuck forever... as a prisoner presumably... ah old sckool gaming.. non of this namby pamby removing all the bits where you can get stuck... kids today...

  • WOW, I remember playing this. It was awesome at the time.

Really atmospheric and scary compared to other games around then.

  • epic game.

  • I cant get this game to play in dosbox. i get a message about temp folder. what do i do? I played this in 1993 ish as a boy and loved the atmosphere. just as i loved the movies.

  • cool game, kinda creepy and atmospheric.

  • I love how the door sound at 1:09 sounds right out of DooM, then the footsteps on metal right after sound right out of Xcom.

  • This is one of the few games to capture the atmosphere of the first 2 movies (more the 1st) so well. I'd rather play this then watch Terminator Salvation because T4 was severely lacking in the atmosphere and style of the future world that made it interesting in the first place

  • This game scared the shit out of me! The terminator atmosphere was awsome, sound an graphix top at the time... Great game

  • This game was awesome.

  • This game was WAY ahead of its time - full 3D engine, free roaming, grenade throwing without selecting them first, vehicles you could drive, pilot and shoot from...amazing. Also, my first ever FPS and first PC game :D

  • WOW! why wasn't i told about this game!!! i've only just found out about it while reading "play magazine" on an article about the new skyrim.

  • this game looks fun, I'll have to try and get a copy

  • I rememberd playing this game thinking how awesome games would be in the future, the only games coming close are GTA

  • This game was awesome.

  • Oh ho ho, GOOD name! "Magnus"... and he fights robots!

  • This game reminds me of Minecraft! :D

  • Terminator redemption

  • this game is friggin scary! :O

  • lol @blackhole73 both doom and doom2 were out in 94, not 95. This game still has some impressive graphics and was amazing for its time though

  • This game was amazing for its time. It had little touches that you still wouldn't find in most FPS for a while. For example, its not shown in the video, but if you had a laser rifle equipped you would actually see an accurate miniature image of whatever was in front of you in the rifle's scope. It also had a great set of vehicle-based action where you would be in control of a captured flying craft. Very underrated.

  • I never had any idea of wtf was going on in this game back in the day when I had it.

  • playable on win xp or 7 without dosbox? i used to have dosbox but could not figure out how to launch games. instructions where confusing. i've been dying for a terminator fps.

  • Looks good! Reminds me of duke nukem

  • superuziiiiiiii

  • Bethesda needs to make a new terminator game, with Elder Scrolls quality graphics and Fallout style gameplay!

  • The first fps with the gun on your right side (in stead of in the middle) (May be Star Wars: Dark forces or Tekwar were a little bit earlier). Real 3D enemies (no sprites). Huge levels. But it was a liitle bit too colorless and some people didn't like it because of the 'boring' graphics. Most underestimated game ever.

  • this game had great graphics for a 1995 game, better graphics than anything ID released that year

  • @zyriuz2 What about Half Life? And doom?

  • @blackhole73 yeah, but doom and half-life arent released in 1995 exept for ultimate doom but this still has better graphics than doom,

  • this looks insane for 95. why wasnt this more popular?!

  • Look really good for a game of that age

  • Interesting, I thought quake was the only fps with 3d models at the time

  • Okay, how did you get the resolution to look so good? I play future shock on DosBox and it doesn't look anywhere near this good. What is your secret???

  • @LetsPlayStarcraft Unfortunately, I don't remember, and I don't have that particular .conf file any longer. But it doesn't really look any different with my current setup, so try setting the output to overlay, and on fullresolution use your screens native res.

  • @trancesucks Whenever I try to play this in DOSBOX I get an error about the CD rom? Ive been trying for so long to try and get this game working... :(

  • use window mode instead full screen and you'll get sharp graphics

  • @LetsPlayStarcraft you get a better preformance if you install skynet. then you get 640x320 and not 320x240 resolution.

  • @MunTre123 i tried both and both are not as good graphics as in this vid, weird

  • Does someone know where to get this game and i mean full versio

  • @Samuli385 check out DJ oldgames for it

  • Actually this game is Daggerfall with Guns

  • Bethesda should make new terminator game

  • BRR BRR BRR BRRRRRR

    ....

    0:45

  • when I played fallout 3 and looked at the environments I thought to myself thinking "this looks like terminator skynet"

im surprised that games today are inspired by the classics

  • I really like how the weapons are sprites than 3D-models. Firing and loading of the weapons looks so smooth. It's is a nice thing that they went with the sprites for the weapons than 3D-models. I think that it would be as good as in sprites.

  • cock.

  • Weird. Growing up (before my age was measured in double digits), I'd say three things dominated my entertainment life: Star Wars, Terminator and FPS games. Given the latter two, I have no idea why I never played this.

  • haha, good ol' asdf...

  • Memories. Remember those homing orbs things. They were silent.

  • In this game, I could never beat the Giant tank, I was stuck there, thrown everything at it, it would never die.

  • its the 2 legged walker from star wars

  • omg this is better than Crysis and football manager

  • What type of computer system or you can see very well the game to be in dosbox and recorded at the same time, greetings

  • lol, my savegames are also called things like asdf etc :)

  • Is the full version of this game available somewhere?

  • Nice to see even in this game that explosion light up the surrounding area. ;)

  • Looks very cool, i just cant get over it that im a huge Terminator Fanboy and i missed this game back in the day. :c Gotta go buy it now from.... Somewhere...?

  • bello!!!

  • I didn't know Bethesda made some Terminator games lol. :P

  • this looks like dukenukem lol

  • wow i remember playing this game! It was scary =)

  • Definitely a classic old school game that had great atmosphere and replayability. This video brings back memories! Thanks for uploading!!

  • Never been a good terminator game - except for one that wasn't - Bioforge!!!

  • @HardWarUK the one on nes is pretty good.

  • haha, the shotgun sounds like it's saying "boom, headshot" everytime you shoot it

  • nvm found a website that gives me al these old games preloaded with dos box just click and play, kick ass.

  • LOL!!!

    ASDF

    ASDFFF

    COCK

    ADFASF

  • damn i have played almost every other old fps, never got to play this anyone know where i could get the old files from?

  • Written in assembly. Ran very smooth on my 486 as opposed to other "true full 3D games" around that time. Good atmosphere and gameplay.

  • wow even back then Bethesda had crashes in their games. They still need a better debugger for their team.

  • this game scared the living daylights out of me when I was a kid

  • reminds me of DooM

  • oh god, when I saw what his saved games were named I laughed so hard. asdf..... i use to do that all the time lol

  • Wow I remember playing this such a long time ago!

  • bethesda should do a new terminator game imo

  • not fully 3d, but visionary anyway

  • "cock"

  • God this game was fucking hard, but i loved it, this and witchaven, remember that one ?

  • I remember seeing an advert for witchaven in the game "Tekwar" (think they both used the same engine). There was a big poster in the subway station and when you went up and pressed on it you heard this guillotine chop and a blood-curdling scream =D

    Those were the days...

  • I remember witchaven had a bit where you could fall into some kind of spikes and your beating heart would get impaled somehow above you (or I may be confusing the game).

  • Heh yep that was it alright :)

  • Lol, man this brings me back... one of the few games I could actually run decently on my folks crappy IBM. ^^

Love how that man-slaughtering turret is breakdancing at 0:32 .

  • where can I get this game

  • It was available a long time ago on some abandonware websites, but I recall Bethesda pulled the plug on them a while back. Guess they got sensitive about their old games. If you just google it, you should be able to find it.

A couple good abandonware sites are : "Home of the Underdogs", and "Abandonia".

    Hope this helps!

  • thanks,I'll give it a try

  • Thanks for the tip, Abandonia is kick ass as far as I can see, Pyscho Pinball for free = fuck yes, it's a shame alien breed is protected though D:

  • lol, I was there just yesterday and picked up Conquests of the Longbow =)

Didn't know they had PPB, I'll have to pick that up too!

Found alien breed on XTC Abandonware, looks like you can download it there =)

  • nice video ^^

  • Comment removed

  • wooooooow it is stereoscopic three dimensional polygonal real time rendering!

  • Can someone please tell me how to get into the warehouse in Level 7 - can't seem to get in there, I can jump up to the warehouse floor level by the fallen garage door but can't seem to get in.

  • man this is wicked i havent played this in sooooo long even got the skynet game as well i might go through my old games and have a try again!

  • I wonder if there is away to play this with getten the game frozen on Dosbox

  • wo ur good possible even better then i am at doom :P

  • Does anyone know how to install without the CD?

  • jesus chirst they need to remake this game....

  • Man I wish this game still played on newer PCs with Windows 7 - I was HUGELY addicted!!! Does anybody know how you can make this work on 7? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • You can use dobox............ just google it and you can probably find it.

  • Yeah I tried that but could never get it to work.

  • @istariphoenix Do you have the cd?

  • Nope. What operating system are you using it on?

  • im on xp

  • this was a great game, and the first pc game to ever utilise the full mouse look - defining gameplay from then on.

  • I loved this game. :P. Was huge terminator fan.. I always used the same weapon that terminators have or the plasma cannon :).. With a little cheat you got "super uzi" ;D.

  • lol he had around 30 nades x)

  • i wish someone would do an HD-remix of this game, i mean the same game with todays graphics, because this game was fantastic at his time..

  • Looks more promising than newer games :P

  • Great, underrated game.

  • wait, this is 3D but with the weapon as a bitmap?

  • Weapons are sprites, yes. This was probably done because of performance, and that it most likely wouldn't look that good in full 3D anyway.

In Daggerfall, which used the same engine, pretty much every enemy were sprites as well.

  • Classic games rock.

  • Exactly, 3D gun models would have made the game look worse.

  • @chrisxdeboy Bear in mind that this game came out a little bit before Quake. It's the first FPS game that I remember that had proper 3D levels, as opposed to the Doom 2.5D thing (although it might not actually be the first)

Also the first FPS game I remember that had drivable vehicles. Quite innovative at the time.

  • lol nearly every comment on here is spot on this is a classic i completed this game like 15 tiems when i was younger and i got it installed n ym pc now with WVM im thinkin of making videos of the whole game + skynet the sequal

  • Do you have it installed on Windows 7? How do you do it...Dosbox?

  • very nice game, i remember played

  • Its freaking sad, but this is the best Terminator game ever made, to bad they piss away licens game today, Termintor has such potential.

  • I mostly agree, this game ist great and was even better back in the day. But the poor licensed game were always a problem. Now like ten or twenty years ago.

It is just that during these 20 years, there were a few realy great licenses like dune 2, shadowrun, or in this case terminator future shock, that we like to remember. So we forget all the crap that came out inbetween.

  • @RMJ1984 Check out this indie game called "FPS: Terminator". Its made by 4 people.

  • @RMJ1984 I agree and disagree. I'd love a decent modern FPS- Role Playing Terminator game especially looking at the potential of games like Half Life 2, Fallout 3, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Deus Ex.

But with such a limited Terminator universe (Terminators, HK, HK Tanks and a few scouting robots) you might as well design a completely different game than fork out for the license.

  • modern games just dont have soul like this classic

  • this game rocked so much, I remember how much harder it was than most FPS games at the time

  • To me, this game is beautiful. Even today it is. By far the best Terminator game. Redemption and the Sega/Mega CD Terminator game are good too.

  • Check:

    "Terminator 2 - Judgment Game"

    Here on youtube.

    Cheers.

  • Oh right, I forgot about the Arcade game. How could I forget that!? Its one of my all time favorites!

  • Well, the one I mentioned is a mod for GTA SA comming this summer. Looks pretty good.

'Terminator 2 Judgment Game GTA SA Mod'

A trailer is here on youtube.

  • This vid brings back many good memories. It's funny tho it's graphics do suck nowadays but at that time they were like woah! Actually you know what I'm gonna dig this once again!!!!!!

  • Question, what did you use to edit the game file? Or did you just upload it as is? I wanted to edit some of my dosbox videos in Windows Movie Maker but the drop in quality is horrible, just wondering what you used.

  • Uploaded as is, so can't help you there.

  • im guessing you played batspire. what settings did you use and if possible could you upload your config for it somewhere and post a link?

  • Bethesda needs to get the rights back to make Terminator games.

This on the Oblivion/Fallout 3 engine would be nothing short of jaw-dropping.

  • Yeah, that would pwn. I like how this game is actually nice and long, and memorable too, unlike a lot of FPS games now that you can beat in a day and never pick up again.

  • I get that you played it in DOSBox, but recorded it in DOSBox? How do you do that? I use Fraps, but it takes a lot out of the DOSBox emulator. How do you record with DOSBox?

  • CTRL+ALT+F5 starts and stops the video recording (check the readme). The resulting clip will be added to the capture folder inside the DOSBox folder. Depending on your system, it might cause some slowdowns in the game, though the clip will actually run it in full speed.

Also, if the screen resolution changes while you're recording, it will start a new file, since different resolutions cannot be displayed in a single video file.

  • Thanks! I can't wait to try it out!

  • Dude, this engine was odd for 1998, and yet Bethesda used it for Redguard...

Unreal Engine would be a better option at that time

  • ah, this was a fantastic game, I had a lot of fun playing it, despite the crashes. there was one really severe one in some level transition in a tunnel, I can't remember the workaround though.

  • I played this on dosbox but its too speedy, do i have to set something to play it at the original speed?

  • Too speedy? That was new. You could ask at vogons, zetafleet(dot)com, the official DOSBox forums.

  • before launching type cycles=fixed 35000

  • Thanks.

And yeah, they made a lot of mistakes with Vista, but still, with some tweaking, it's enjoyable enough. Win7 looks pretty good though.

  • Compatibility seems to depend on a lot of variables I've noticed with this OS, but DOS games are easily playable using DOSBox, which can be used flawlessly on Vista.

As far as resource usage go, it all depends on how the OS itself is configured. I've got a fairly powerful PC, so it isn't a problem.

  • There was also 3 another Terminator games made by Bethesda: Terminator 2029, Terminator: Rampage and SkyNET. And alI are FPS-es. WTF?

  • wis is one of the best game ever, but mario 1 is the best xDDD

  • please ,please help!! I have this game but I cant play it due to my windows vista is to good i Think lol so what laptop would be best to play this game on ,I will buy a old laptop just to play it but I need to know what laptop I need please help

  • I'm actually playing this on Vista. You just need DOSBox (and preferably a computer that can handle the emulation), so go to DOSBox(dot)com, and download it, then go to vogons.zetafleet(dot)com and try to find instructions for installing it, or just ask for help there.

  • Thnaks man I willl do ,very much appreciated :>

  • You shoul've show all available weapon, cuz 6 minutes with just shotgun - boring!

  • After playing Doom 1 & 2 for years in between this one, it's a bit hard to separate from my beloved shotgun, but I probably should have used some different guns.

I guess I could upload a video later with some weapon demonstrations.

  • do you play as humans or terminators in this game?

  • Back then i really hate this game because it's so scary and the atmosphere is creepy. But now i feel like want to play this game but i lost my CD. Is this game available for free now?

  • Unfortunately not. The only game Bethesda has ever released for free is TES: Arena.

You might find it on eBay, or some other alternative.

  • pure fps godlikeness >:)

  • AWESOME game....fantastic atmosphere and sound

  • SHIT GAME

  • The first truly 3D FPS... classic.

  • haha those things used to scare the crap out of me. this was my 1st computer game that i got into seriously. thanks for posting this. i wouldnt mind playing this game again for ole times sake if i could find it

  • doom with the terminator skin on it. I think the T:Salvation game should`ve been made in first person like this game. With the current technology,it would`ve been totally baddass. think about it.

  • Yup brings back (very good) memories, indeed.. I've been playing Daggerfall on DOSBox lately, so this is gonna get a re-play next. I'd LOVE for someone to do a mod for Fallout3 based on this game.. That would rule!

  • I've always wanted to play this game. I just couldn't figure out dosbox, though.

  • You picked up a pulse rifle from Aliens lol

  • I had this on my PC years ago... was cutting edge then... great game for its time.
