question if I may how do you key bind beats to slice them like with the num pad so you can, like hit 0 it will play a beat and all that like araabMUSIZ
Hi Chris, Thanks for putting this up! Most helpful and has saved me a ton of time in trying to figure this out. You're very kind for doing this. Again, thanks.
No sequencer? Do you really have to tap the keys like a drum while recordng, Or am I missing something? Cause that seems kinda lame. Guess I could sample from FL studio or something, but I don't like the preset samples...Anybody?
Im new to Garageband.....just got my mac. Anyway, I know how to create my beats, like the one you just demonstrated, but how do I save them to bring up and "drag" like the others?
dude! how did you get it to loop perfect like that?? every time i try to extend it like how you did where you copied and pasted, it always gets off beat as the loop progresses. how did you copy and paste it like that?? please help.
Thank you!! This is the ONLY helpful video I've found on Youtube. I thought I was completely uncreative, but this has helped me so much! Post more please! (:
It took about 10 vids or so until I got yours that explains how to make a beat. thanks. Love the trick of bringing down the tempo that's just tremendously helpful.
Thanks for the video, the one thing that I get stuck is when I loop a 2nd track to an existing track and locking in the tempo. So, if you got a verse and you what to change the drums for the chorus, I have trouble locking in the 2nd drum loop. Any suggestions?
Make sure to check out my videos on Garageband Instruments. I'll show you how to load the Roland Fantom X6 and the Phantom '08 keyboards into Garageband without even buying them, giving you a total of 600 new professions synths and other instruments.
quick question how do i cut the beat so that when i use the loop option the silence isnt looped from the beginning ive tried splitting it but it still wont line up
awesome man, until just recently i've been just using loops in my songs. now i'm working with playing my own loops with a midi keyboard that i bought with my mac, it's actually easier then using the mac keyboard. the only thing i don't make up is what your showing, which is the beats and drums. but i'm gonna start.
Hey everyone! To start...3/4 timing can be created when you start a new project. It will give you the option. If you are going to play with musical typing, you can also just simply "play" in any time you would like.
Yes, plug-ins can be used on garage band. You just need to get the proper adaptors for your computer and it will automatically read the plug-in (gotta love macs!) Thanks so much for the nice comments, they are greatly appreciated. There will be more videos to come!
Great tutorial! Is it possible to create 6/8 and 3/4 beats with garageband? If so, I'd love to learn how. Keep up the good work, it's not given to everyone to be a good teacher.
for some reason my garageband does not have all of the instruments that you have, im not sure why it doesn't have everything. i figured that it should have everything because it came with the computer. do you know anything about this?
I know you said you are a drummer. Question: Can we type drum notation on a staff in Garageband? Will it play it if so? I called Applecare, and they didn't know.
Anyway, I did read drum notation and thought it would be cool if I could write in beats on a staff.
So sorry I haven't posted any more vids yet. I work non stop...lol. I promise I will get to it as soon as I can. In the mean time, ask as many questions as you want, I always have time for them!
If it is the Metronome that keeps clicking, click on control (at the top) and un-check the metronome. This will stop the clicking while you are recording. If this isn't the problem, please let me know
love your music.....keep it up fam...check our my channel i have a few garageband beats also...what do you think?
