great movie. mongol story is important part of history that should be told but hollywood people don't give it any recognition. instead they keep making the same kind of movies, beating the dead horse. this Bodrov guy deserves lots of credit.
Genghus Khan didn't make innocent people suffer;all people who he fought against were spared if they surrendered.also,he abolished torture and established a meritocratic empire. He was tolerant of other religions.Furthermore, several "peaceful" empires were founded on just as much, if not more, bloodshed than Genghis'.Im not saying that peaceful rulers are not great, or that violence is necessarily right; im just trying to correct your narrow point of view, BaZOOTS
