  • Nice video !!! Really usefull !!! Thanks

  • that was both informative and hilarious, well done!

  • Yea Phillips!! That had me laughing out loud

  • lol

  • man thank you for all youre help.Where di you learn all the techniques you show us on your e videos?

  • Thanks mike, Where's best for the alpine clutch, nearest the load or furthest from load. Also doesn't look too safe as gates are not opposed, is this ok or would screwgates be better?

Appreciate the vids! thanks again. Ollie

  • awkward to get the rope into the biners if they are opposed. Not sure that that is an advantage anyhow as it only has to come out of one to fail. Honestly never done it that way. If you take two locking biners and place them together you will see that the gates prevent the biners from binding down on the rope. It will lwork sort of sometimes depending on the biners but as you have a live person on the end of your rope you may want something that will bite down without fail. Hence nonlockers

  • The location is right off of the anchor. It is the only practical place to put that I know of. Not sure how you would move it or even if there was a practical way to do that.

  • Hey Mike, thanks for the alpine double carbiner hitch ratchet system. It WILL come in handy-DAR

  • LOLOLOLOLOL This guy is so funny!! I would never expect that!!! A razor promo!!! Fuck!! But the ratchet explanation very good, going to practice. Funny.

  • LOL electric razor, so great.

  • HAHA You really like your Phillips razors don't you

  • What!!!?

  • love the video with the surprise ending hahaha...

  • "(...) print out the secret to making bronze and have it translated to Spanish. Then I will give to your industries leaders (...)"!

    HAAAAAHAHAHAHahahahhahaha

Let the guy speak, PRIMITIVE ones!!!!! I'm a primitive as well!!! I live in the brazilian jungle!... But my climbing skills are from the advanced bronze age!... ( I said ADVANCED!) hhhhhhhhhhh

  • Hahahahaha, loved the end!

  • Thanks Mike - But where's the z-pulley vid? Also, do you have one that shows the couple different ways to set up a redirect when belaying someone up - with a prussik that releases the biner being used as a ratchet.

  • @mike: i am using philips electrical toothbruch "sonicare" since several years. you should consider presenting that as well!

  • Interesting will have to check that out

  • I dont think we are primitive here in mexico, you should change your thoughts.

  • Did I say primitive? Sorry what I meant to say was "over sensitive". I don't know how I could have could have gotten that mixed up, sorry. In return for your forgiveness I am going to Google and print out the secret to making bronze and have it translated to Spanish. Then I will give to your industries leaders. That should make us even, No?

  • wow, take a joke bro.

  • hey man thanks alot for all the great serious information on all things vertical and technical. I had climbed a climbing wall just once and thought that this is cool but I need to learn the knots and vertical climbing for what I had in mind.

thanks I appreciate the time you took to put the videos out there for me to get into vertical ascending training

  • Stick around I will be doing a bunch more on gear climbing

    Your welcome

    Mike

  • u have to remember the locking devices are to hold the main line as the hauling system is reset. the iti.(munter) hitch is used w/- the prussik so the load can be released off the knot if need be. aka mariner knot. french prussik knot requires both tails of the loop. so is not releasable. as he says this is only one small part of the overall system. roperescuemaster - u really need to reconsider your user name. u would tie off the belay device before releasing the prussik.

  • see what you're about with the italian hitch on the prusik cord - but is there any reason not to use a french prusik?

  • Ahhh, fooled again by another Philips electric razor commercial!

    Thanks for the good videos.

  • When you are doing your ratchet cam with the prussik and italian hitch, why would you favour lowering on the prussik rather that just doing a soft release of the prussik on the main line and lowering on the main line. Its much more controlled and the main line is much higher rated. Also when lowering on the main line the prussik can still act as a ratchet cam compared to when lowering on the prussik where there is nothing that will catch the load if you lose control.

  • What? That makes no sense. Been awhile since I have watched this vid will have to do so again. Wasn't there something about slipping the prussik onto the ratchet for a raise not a lower?

  • thanks for this one Mike...er...Joe....

I have been looking for this one

  • Perfect job!... And pretty funny!!!

    Thanks a lot!

  • Thanks for the videos like always - I look forward to seeing each one you do. I really liked the addition of the munter to the prussik to release it under load. Simple idea that I hadn't heard of before.
