I heard cybuster will get the vanity ripper in the new OG :D I hope it's true, though not as awesome as Ranbu no tachi. The good thing is that they're not forgetting him.
played about to stage 34 and so far its quite alright :) alright its true its abit stiff with the animations and all but overal its a great game this far in, definently inspired me to stay hooked on it unlike the snes version, gotta love all those background images you get to see during the talking sometimes beteween or during battles, helps pointing out whats going on- as they say: " a picture tells more than a thousand words "
i have to say... a masoukishin game was a pretty amazing idea. especially since nobody would want to play the snes (or was it nes, cant remember) version cuz its old.
the graphics are fine and look nice, but....
the animation is horribly, terribly lacking. i think even the super mario 64 remake for DS had better animation than this.
im not asking for ps2 SRW style stuff but, at least make it look smoother. i think the GBA OG had better fludity than this...
@BloodFortAndromeda Yeah, the actual animations during the attacks are very stiff. I suppose it could be a stylistic decision, as a sort of retro throwback to the old, pre-Alpha SRW games, when there was no animation at all. But the DS is capable of at least PS1/N64 level graphics, so some more animation would have been nice. Still, it's good to see the Masoukishin again.
that was his kosmo nova?....where are the colliding planets.....and why wasn't that his last attack? how is a sword attack stronger than a nova? i'm confused and appalled....but srsly speaking the animations kinda suck in this one cause they wanted it 3d.....why, i don't understand.....it's not even half as fun as k or w...also took away srw's unique robot chibiness to make them full sized...whoppe -_-
@countrybluegrass clearly you are right and they should stop making awesome animations for the game..... and what did most of the comment have to do with what i said.... you just went on ranting how k sucks cause it's easy..... what makes you think i liked it because it was easy?.... most srw games are easy, i mostly play them for the awesome animations and if i want hard i can easily find some other challenging turn-based game... the animations are the only reason i didn't play this one.
I didn't say K sucked because it was easy, K sucked because it's overall a terrible game.
I'm saying you're a spoiled kid who isn't a real SRW fan, because you just care about graphics and have no concern for gameplay or design. If any SRW game is "beneath" you because its graphics aren't purty, you're not a SRW fan.
@countrybluegrass again.....there's a huuuuge difference between cool animations and graphics....if i were to look for graphics i wouldn't have played the gba or ds releases now would i, genius? what i meant to say is that they could have made cooler animations since....and wait for it......that's what made the srw series stand out. you played older releases...great, i'm very proud of you. that doesn't make you right when it comes to stuff related to the series and my personal opinion, does it?
Wait? Vanity Ripper are dual swords? Sweet! Oh my, it has been so long since I saw Ranbu no Tachi the last time. Gotta ditched works and play the game.
Damn right! It was about time to see Cybuster in all of its awesomeness, sheer power, glory and epicness... To be honest, sometimes it is quite hard to stand Cybuster being surpassed by PT units just because of their combination attacks and the lack of Ranbu no Tachi
Personally, I like all of the animations (especially the strongest attacks), considering it must be quite trickier to make normal-sized sprites than SD's
@LanceVulcano Blame Terada being massively butthurt by Masaki's popularity; that's what I think the real reason behind the Masoukishin crew not being in @2/3.
I was rather aiming at OG continuity... though I like a lot to see the originals reunited like that (i.e, Zengar, Folka, Masaki, RyuKoOh and Compatible Kaiser in one single game), I can't help but to sometimes think the majority of the OG-exclusive cast is PT-based, in addition to the already existant bunch of them (PT-like units) I mean, I like Alt and Weiss a lot, for instance, but if you ask me, even Rampage Ghost doesn't seem more damaging than Cosmo Nova to me
@LanceVulcano Well most of the games have a RR or Hybrid-type Main mech, with occasionally an outright SR. In SRW A, the Angelg, Soulgain, and Vaisaga were considered supers when they remsemble more hybrids compared to The Grungust series.
@ReiKusanagi Yeah, now you've got it. It's not that I'm whining on that I'd prefer games full of HRs (like Masoukishin, the Shura or (Dis) Astranagant) or outright SRs (RyuKoOh, Daizengar, Banpreios), but to simply have a more balanced cast. Reminisce Alpha 3: offer different mechs, each with its unique pilot; then give each of them a different background, even if the enemies are the same for the 3 or 4 or them (i.e: DaiRaiOh=Super, Alegrias=Real, RyuKoOh=Magical stuff, Dis Astranagant= Hybrid)
@amuro0093 i assume youre playing the rom versin, its another piracy blocking tricks banperesto up to their sleeve lmao, yes its the 2nd wall like the first stage people thought it was fix.... wait for another patch
@amuro0093: Another possibility is that you were cheating, possibly with AR, or with the Gold Golem trick. The fact is, IIRC, the DS version of the game has a anti-cheat measure, in what, for the fusion scenario between Cybuster and Granzon, if you did it too many upgrades, maxed more than two units, or (maybe) leveled to Masaki too much for that mission, the anti-cheat measure flag is actived, which converts Granzon in Granhax.
As I said, it's a possibility. You can try not to upgrade too much and see if with that the One Hit Kill from Granzon doesn't even active. I hope that this can help you.
... odd, this video has upgraded attacks, cosmo nova upgraded, High Familiar, even the Vanity Ripper instead of the Deis Cutter... but it has the Deis Cutter Ranbu no Tachi instead of the Vanity Ripper related hissatsu... weird.
Cybuster is fully upgraded I don't think Discutter Ranbu no Tachi has a upgraded attack with Masaki using Vanity Ripper for the attack, at least with the route I went down which is a bit sad.
@BassGSnewtype The only attack that Cybuster uses that is the definition of overkill for me is Cosmo Nova, really that much power centered on just one opponent!? How does Shu counter-attack an attack like that?
As stated Dis Cutter Ranbu no Tachi has no upgraded form. The 4 Masoukishin and the Valsione R all receive a final special attack late in the game, each of which doesn't have an upgraded form as they are already on par with the strengthened attacks powerwise. Ranbu no Tachi is one such attack along with moves like Fenrir Crash on the Goddess and Engetsu Sappou with the Valsione R.
The last attack shown I haven't seen Masaki use that attack in any Super Robot War game he's in. Is that the Ranbu no Tachi that I keep hearing about?
Indeed, that last attack was Ranbu no Tachi. And he has it in Alpha and Alpha Gaiden (I also know he had it in the Classic series, but I don't know when he learned it). He just hadn't learned it in the OG universe until now (and it's about time).
Correct, so far from what i remember, this attack has only appeared in Gaiden, the Original Masoukishin on SNES, Alpha (You need to meet certain requirement), and Alpha Gaiden
Which system is this on?

They remade OG1 and 2 for PS2. A DS version would be pointless, because OGs is already vastly better looking than any DS game could ever hope to be.

You don't even know what you're talking about. The original Cosmo Nova was just four balls of light converging on the enemy and exploding.
Also K is the worst SRW game released this decade, casuals/nubs like you wouldn't understand the original games.
You'd cry and break the game if you fought the Guests.

@madmaxmadog
It is a port of a SNES game, with some updated graphic, where the robots were full size.
Why should not be stronger?
Are you trying to find logic and common sense in SRW?
And besides the real power of attacks has nothing to do with appearance.
