I think you're right about Annie Lennox - I can definitely here her in there. There's also a slight edge to her voice that reminds me of the lead singer of Heart if anyone happens to be familiar with them.

Until now I'd only listened to 'Moon and Moon' because my mum heard it on the radio and said it was good. After hearing this though, it's clear that I should look up some more songs. That was a good performance.

Wouldn't call it ''cliched'' myself, grapsta. When you consider that this song is heavily influenced by the early 80's song A Forest by The Cure it makes sense. A song Natasha obviously loves as she covered it herself. The bass and guitar are very reminicent of A Forest too. For me at least, Daniel is a great song. Retro sound and all. This girl has it all. Can't wait to see her play in October.

you could do much worse than bat for lashes. they have, as Bruce Dickinson might say, a "dynamite sound."

what i'm referring to as cliche is more a lyric sensibility. we could debate this, of course, and i will say that some of this song is interesting lyrically, but the "flame in your heart" "set fire to my heart" etc. is too reminiscent of high school poetry for me.

that's what I mean. however, music has lots of cliches that work, so it may be that these ones just aren't my fav cliches.
