  • MATLOCK Greatest town in the world!!!

  • I live in Matlock, yay!

  • Thanks; impressive music, too. I do hope that Riber Castle is rescued before it's too late.

  • Cheers, I have many driving videos around Derbyshire, newer ones in HD quality.

  • @benbisley Riber castle is being converted into apartments but due to current economic climate estimated completion date is 2015

  • Five starts go to this excellent video of my home area.

My best mate owns that café -opposite Somerfield..

Great music too - well matched..

    5*

    Tony.

  • Watching this video scared mi senseless. Everyone were drivin on the wrong side of the road. I think Britain better concentrate on educating drivers better to drive on the RIGHt side of the road.

This UNDOUBTABLY will cut way down on car accidents in Britain. Plus save me from yelling at those drivin on the wrong side of the road. The Pelicans

  • actually, we invented kinda driving it is the left side so most people's strong hand could attack your opponent or in today's scenario your strong hand in control of the car. your the one on the wrong side of the road mate.

  • Actually mate, We Americans invented driving. Sure the Romans, Egyptians, the occasional European drove wagons and Chariots. Plus you drove alot of people Mad and to be burnt at the stake. you even drove people away to form the good old USA. But that were a blessing in disguise because of all that the USA was born---Now we have real cars, computers, the lightbuld, traffic lights, and inside plumbing. but despite all that you still drive on the wrong side of the road.

  • yh it's cool i aint the type to take it serious

  • my mum lives on Bakewell rd. I must have been there because my car is parked outside (white fiesta) aaww its famous :-) i hate having to drive out of matlock to come back on yourself.

  • If it helps, this was filmed on 20th June 2008 at 1pm.

Yes its a bit odd having to go the long way around but I guess its safer with less traffic pounding through the centre?

  • As a Bakewell boy far from home this bought back a lot of memories. Many thanks.

  • The A6 in Derbyshire is the A6 at its chocolate box best, but like all major roads in the county its been fiftied - defacing the countryside and spoiling everyone's fun.

  • Been there many a time as a young gal. I'm Nottingham born and bred, but I have a lot of family just over the border in Derbyshire.

  • Amazing stuff! Saw my mate's cafe (opposite Somerfield in Matlock).. Has to be 5*!

    Tony :-)

  • Now try that on a sunny Sunday afternoon in the summer. Can you upload 40 min videos on Youtube :-)

  • Lived in Matlock Bath for six months many, many years ago, this brought back great memories for me. Thank you.

  • I moved away from Matlock in 2006.. Boy, was I glad to get back in November that year!

  • Really?

  • Yes, its very well known locally for bikers at the weekend. Don't forget the Matlock Bath illuminations as well of course!

glad you liked the camera work. I try and make it look as though YOU are driving the car.

  • It's nice to see the sun shining ! I drive into Matlock every day and it has certainly meant that the traffic is quieter ~ it's the same when I go home between 5.15pm and 6.00pm. It will be interesting to see how the Bakewell Show traffic copes next week though.

  • The first time I used the bypass was very strange as I wanted to get to the town its self but found that it was not longer possible to turn right and you had to drive all the way over the bypass and then turn and come back in again. Quite a way to go by car.

  • You should do the Buxton to Glossop drive. Very scenic and twisting roads.

  • Yes hope to one day, so much to cover and so little time.

  • at 1:08 that guy running must of forgot something

  • yes, I wonder if he will ever see this video or perhaps someone out there will tell him.
