im a self taught tattooist but am horrified by this! i use disposable tubes never use the same needle twice they go in a sharpz bin i change my gloves about 5 times through out a tattoo i bag an cover my machine and cord. my pal who works in a studio autoclaves my machines for me. and i dont use cheap chinese shit i work off a cyclone 360 and a mao road runner cutback liner medium throw although i prefer a longer throw and work off the tip. i see to many people even pros riding the tube and
its just a lazy way of tattoo i use a mao colour packer for tribal and such. and 2 custom machines my friends dad kindly built me as a birthday present. ones great for soft shading the other for blending so i guess im lucky in some respects but i couldnt find an aprentiship any where and had a passion for it, i know some people that work out of converted garages or spare rooms or even kitchens that knock out better work than the studios, ive even fixed studio work. which is more rewarding!

Most Modern scratchers now use modern machines,ink, disposable tips/needles etc just the same as teh shop guys these days!..yes there are still a few idiots about without a clue doing potentially dangerous things to peoples body's..but they dont last long and are few and far between.. but there are also many good scratchers out there who produce interesting work of a similar and sometimes even better standard than many tat shops i have visited and for a fraction of the price!

Good video. I like how it shows two different sides of the tattooing world. Both have their own key points that make sense. Is it fair to say both have a place? I think so. There's different types of tattooing that goes on all over the world from tribes doin the ol cut and rub charcoal in the wound method or the tap tap thing they do in asia to modern machines. Basically it all comes down to keeping everything as sterile and as clean as possible. As for the art, its for the person wearing it.

I am a home tattoo artist, 26 years old. From 17 to 24, I worked at a shop in Washington State. For the better part of the last 5 years at said shop, I professionally tattooed clients. Since then, I've begun a private practice. The room I tattoo in was remodelled to tattoo. And nothing else. I am medically certified (for bloodborne pathogens) and use only single use needles and tubes.

that is THE WORST and most difficult homemade gun ive ever seen, ive made guns before (only done work on myself with them) but i got a real tat machine and power supply and can actually give good quality tats to me and friends and shit. o btw that "skull" looks like a light bulb that says "whiskey" around the thread and has glasses on. ftw

Good video. I like how it shows two different sides of the tattooing world. Both have their own key points that make sense. Is it fair to say both have a place? I think so. There's different types of tattooing that goes on all over the world from tribes doin the ol cut and rub charcoal in the wound method or the tap tap thing they do in asia to modern machines. Basically it all comes down to keeping everything as sterile and as clean as possible. As for the art, its for the person wearing it.

i do home made tattoos but i have a pro equipment and dont reuse needles .. or anything ... i use all disposable stuff from needles to the grips and tips caps ... i cant get a apprentiship so i stick to homemade ... free homemade tattoos i do it for the art not for the money ....

If this is something that you are interested in, you must know 2 things: this is NOT cheap. Safety has no price, be assured of that. I was never apprenticed but that's number 2. Get professional instruction and assistance BEFORE going at it on your own. If and when you do start your own practice, start on yourself. Don't let your stupidity or frugality kill someone else.

I am a home tattoo artist, 26 years old. From 17 to 24, I worked at a shop in Washington State. For the better part of the last 5 years at said shop, I professionally tattooed clients. Since then, I've begun a private practice. The room I tattoo in was remodelled to tattoo. And nothing else. I am medically certified (for bloodborne pathogens) and use only single use needles and tubes.
