This delightful performance was thrown early out of the 16th International festival for playing music the way Chopin played it. He had no alternative. His instruments were delicate. Winners were almost all 180 lb hirsute males committing aggravated battery on undefended pianos. Don't misunderstand me. I love loud playing with distorted overtones. Thats not the issue. Judges have refused to acknowledge Asian pianists playing culturally sensitive interpretations on bright light pianos.
