It also wasn't hand-drawn. Think about this stuff, amigo. Some animator somewhere had to sit down and draw this frame-by-frame, by hand. It doesn't seem that amazing, but when you've done any form of animation at all you realize that movement that articulate and smooth without any significant exaggeration is an incredible feat, especially on characters with more than one shade of each color and relatively realistic human proportions. This 1:14 is an undertaking of great skill.

Just finished this series yesterday, at first I wasn't sure about it but each character is so well developed it's hard to not get attached to them. I always loved when Kyon would narrate inside his head, he's so funny!

I always thought that if you look closely at the characters in the dance, it's almost as if Haruhi just forced them all into doing it. Nagato, Koizumi and Asahumi don't seem to mind dancing (of course not lol) but Kyon seems to be second guessing himself lol

Well Sadly I haven't seen this show yet. But from watching this it looks like it could be quite good. Most shows will show flashy bits and pieces of it in the opening theme this has a well choreographed dance that seems to use many fully drawn movements instead of the jumpy stuff used in shows.
