  • nice vid...

hope you get to do more?....

  • About speed ramps? Here are a disaster. U have that things there? Where do u live? I mean,..im concerned about maintenence. Since the wheels are close to the front/rear i guess my only problem could be the center of the car. It is flat?

  • Sorry for the delay in replying! Christmas got in the way hehe :)

There are lots of speed bumps around where I live. You can drive across them but you have to take it slowly. The worst ones are the newer design that are like three bumps in the road. You have to just put the car between the bumps.

The one thing you have to watch out for is the oil sump on the underside of the car. It's VERY close to the ground. About a width of a hand. You can get dry sump conversions but they're expensive.

  • Thanks man...Im a little sad today cuse yesterday my house caught fire so as my audi. I had to watch the hole thing untill the firemans came and was very unpleasure watch the car that i care that much be consumed by the flames. Hopefully my wife(pregnant) and i could get out of the house in time of call 4 help.

  • I still think that lots n lots of parts i can ajust here without buying that simple gauges n etc..I mean, theyre heavY and id save thousands of pounds just ajusting here by myself.Auto Meter trims,tires/wheels, even SEATS i could fit a sparco and interior carpets if i want. Maybe im deluded completly but i cant get enough information here in brazil about that kinda stuff. What im sure is that the 1.8 and 2.0 both wauxwhal and zetec engines i can find here without any problem.

  • Hi there! You've really put a lot of thought into buying a Cat! My engine is the Rover 1.4 Supersport. It's a good engine, but like you said, hard to find now that rover are no more.

A lot of the Caterhams over here use both Vauxhall and Ford engines, but I'm not sure what size.

The great thing about the Caterham is that you can build it like you want it, you just have to make it work!

  • Thanks mate..i will have one. Dunno how yet but i will. Like my beloved audi...i dreamed a lot with it and today its mine.(a specific 1995 S2quattro). Very fast but the "driver envolvment" is shamefull..honestly, comparing with a cat.I tell that but i actually never tested one.

  • What engine u use in your? Rover 1.4? Looks fine for me but here we dont have rovers. Neither 1.4 engines. Cheap would be a vauxwhal 1.8 or 2.0, we have massive production of those engines. Also we have the zetec 1.6 in the ford ka with 95hp(awesome engine in my opinion).

  • Thanks 4 the post man and congratulations 4 the car. A dream car 4 me in the colours that i want, green n yellow.Brazil colors. I REALLy ud apreciate some advice, cuse i think ill be the 1st brazilian to own a cat.I already spoked to uk.dealer and heres my plan: I buy a basic kit less engine and transmission and fit a vauxwhal(that here is chevrolet) engine 1.8 or a zetec 2.0, not much sofisticated in case of the zetec cuse parts are expansive here...
