Lol that's fucking advanced bro. Honestly, I find that a proper defense for the haymaker is shooting for a double leg takedown since the guy is off balance and you have the time to see the punch coming, so you get him like that, he's gonna stay surprised enough time for you to mount him and deliver some ground n pound or go for an americana submission if you know Jiu Jitsu.
@Yugz13 that is a really good tactic for mma or cage fighting, but in a self defense situation very stupid indeed as the aim is to escape as quickly as possible, his response isn't advanced it's straight forward, leg shoots followed by ground and pound and submissions are long and complicated as this leads to a "fighting" situation and that is what self defense combatives try to avoid.
bear in mind you don't know if the guys friends are behind you waiting to stab.
@halfhausaman How do we learn the power/magic that makes the opponent freeze after throwing a punch and letting me do what I want to him with him ever making another move?
@halfhausaman At the @0:38 mark after his punch is block the attacker just freezes, just holds this position. How can I learn to make this happen? Usually the attacker will continue attack, he will follow up with more punches or clinch or tackle down. In this technique the attacker is frozen from block, he just stands there not even covering his head. I want to make this technique! It also happens at @0:45 & @0:49 . Just frozen & master can attack freely! It's a kind of Black Magic 氣 right??
@RB201111 nothing unrealistic about that or magical, a guy throws a haymaker you move in grab and heabut, keep in mind that the punch is a haymaker which leaves you open .. if he did the same response for a jab or well placed hook it would be a different story, AND the teachers responses are slow 0:45 would only take a split second to do
@halfhausaman So.. meaning is, I am too slow? I am not success this technique. I end up on ground and difficult grappling situation begin. Shabazz has ground technique for fat attacker?
@RB201111 the whole point of training is to build speed.. but to be honest you don't need that much speed to do the stuff shown here.. it's pretty simple.
@RB201111 same with 0:49.. that can be done very quickly and the pain caused by something like that would stop them from thinking about covering their head etc.. it's very common in filipino martial arts AND boxing to a lesser extent.. it's not like one of those flashy jujitsu demos whe're he's doing a full body massage to a frozen uke and 0:38 is very commonly seen in muay thai and mma.. the block and head grab again can be done in seconds following through with a knee see jose aldos last f
@RB201111 ..ight, by the same logic boxing drills which involve weaving and throwing combinations off a parry are also unrealistic or "magic" people don't change technique in the middle of throwing a hayemaker especially in a street fight where they don't expect you to be able to fight and then get a quick unpleasant counter.. search "marine scores dual ko" you'll see techniques very similar to these used by a marine in a bar fight with nasty results.
my mom has that same painting on a fridge magnet
