@mustaing3 u might not be at the right angle; he didn't explain it very well. u have to have the magnifying glass where the beam is as small as possible(try experimenting closer and farther from the tinder) and then it should light in seconds!

An important observation has been shown in this video, but has not been told. We should only try it on a clean ground, on a path of earth (or large rock) without weed, specially avoiding dryed ones. Otherwise, this practice can start a bush fire. Another smart tip: always carry a small portion of coal (in a plastic bag), that means less weight and less smoke than firewood, so making us less visible or detectable. Good camp!
