heh, during the time i heard this song on CVS1, I never played alpha 1,2 and any of the street fighter 3 games, so i just assumed those intro songs belonged to some of the snk games.....as if they were mixing capcom n snk songs into this one track.

Well... they wanted to give 3rd strike some kind of street... urban feeling, and through music they could transmit an escence in each stage. In fact, rap music only appear in the intro, char select and credits. In gameplay, there's jazz (alex, necro), tribal (elena), hard rock (hugo, urien), pop (dudley), and even dark-electro (remy), etc. In my opinion, i like hugo (germany) and urien's (mexico) music stage a lot. This game is a wonder in every way, that's why it's the best. Just try it out...

I have tried it out, I have it on Dreamcast...I don't really care for it too much even though it has really good gameplay and stuff. I dont like how there is barely any of the original roster

Personally, I found 3rd Strike the best. In terms of introducing the fighters to you in the intro and excellent use of cuts.

It's an awesome transition to the selection screen too, and sets you up for the announcer's introduction:

To foo35, Street Fighter 1 didn't really have a theme song and the opening movie was just a guy punching out a brick wall, turning around and having "Street Fighter" on the back of his jacket. This music is from "Capcom vs. SNK Pro" which has a stage with all the Street Fighter themes, starting from Street Fighter II". Best of the series: Super Street Fighter II turbo (X), Alpha 2 (Zero II) and III 2nd Impact.
