@LordHavoK420 - Sorry for the late reply, been busy. I dont think you can because from what I hear, this update kills the ability to root. But I havent been updated with G2 rooting since this update so I'm not the right person to ask.
shouldn't some people like in xp compared to vista still have to put the .zip in it, not sure which one it was but when I was doing this to my G1 and mytouch it was different for some of us that were different versions of windows... just a question to help this tutorial out just in case I am right. Either way everything else seems like its all good.
@ShaneAkACaitSith810 Nevermind T-Mobile sent me the OTA update already :D...I was all trying to figure out what I was doing wrong when I got a pop up on my phone saying that a new software update was ready to be installed on to my phone. Thank a lot though man.

Are you on stock Android 2.2 or that leaked 2.3.3 build? Double check the file name and make sure it says update, not update.zip
