@aldena03 After hearing that about 20 times a day you start to be able to repeat it in your head. Also, I really like the "if you see any suspicious activity, please report to a MTA official". No shit
The German BND is the renamed 3rd Reich GESTAPO.The BND had organized the delegate Scheuermann of our county to visit or home.To allow him to personally experience how my brother and our parents had been tortured. The BND continued to torture my brother. He was assassinated on July 11th2009.Half a year after the assassination of my brother the CDU delegate Mappus from our district town Pforzheim was made prime minister of the German land of Baden Würtemberg
i miss loudon i was at the loudon tower and all i was asking is when are we going to go on the the tube agin i love that thing and it speeds up quick i loved it because here in New Jersey USA the subways or district lines (the subway in amrica is close to the streets) smell like crap are a 100 years old and they have trash all over them you can't even hear the announcer there is no room and they look like rapper trains because all of the gritffie on them
But your foot could easily go in the gap and break your ankle, leg or something. Also, on the platforms that are curved, the gap can be huge, like a foot and a half wide... like at Bank on the Central line.
@luisfsd1009 I can never understand what the announcers are saying on the MTA as they speak so fast. Just about hear them mutter something about Van Cortlandt Park and that's about it!
@Steph6n no The Gap clothing store got there name from there target market which was originally the gap of people between middle class and high class however I think there target market has changed a bit since to include more middle class and lesser social status people in order to target more people and larger growth and sales... ;)
usually towns impress by having monuments, great buildings, a nice atmosphere, etc. .. London got all that but tops it with having the most brilliant public transportation system on this planet :D
wow that's annoying, the subway here in Toronto isn't as annoying. People aren't retarded that they need to be announced of a 3 inch gap between the platform and car. It's just station announcements.
Hehe, this announcement started to annoy me after hearing it the 20th time and I did stumble over the gap, even though they announced it that many times o.O -.-
But London is a GREAT city! I would love to visit it again with my mum (and take a ride on the tube, which will make her scream all the time, because it is that far under the ground xD)
"The traaayyyyns naaa reddy t'dpaaart, other incomprehensible guttural noise that nobody understands, trayyyns reddy t'depart"! God forbid he had to tell you something important.
This is Embankment. Change here for the bakerloo, the circle and the district lines. This train terminates at Kennington. The next station is Waterloo. Please stang clear of the closing doors, mind the doors !
Judging by your comment i am guessing you havent sampled a ride on the underground and seen the "GAP" at various stns..
Waterloo on the Bakerloo line, (both platforms) & Embankment on the Northern line,(Northbound platform), as seen in the above clip are just 2 stns i can mention where the gap between the train and the platform is rather large to say the least.
In the case of Waterloo, it would be very EASY indeed for a new born baby or even a fully grown adult to fall into the gap !!.
@twsm410 Yeah. you better MIND THE GAP. In New York some gaps are about a foot wide. one station the train comes in on a bank and a curve as well as the station's track is up and down.
On a recent trip to Newyork's subway there was an automatic gap warning at an unknown station (somwhere after bowling green station). And a metal grill within the platform automatically extended to reduce that gap, it was absolutely amazing. This made me think of LT's station. But the tube beats NY metro in cleanliness, probably becuase the metro line is composed of rusty steel pillars rather than a self supporting tube.
A new born could not easliy fall down the gap, because newborns are covered by legislation which protects them from danger, the like of which would be falling down such a hole; guardian or parent is liable to prosecution if there were any chance of a new born baby going anywhere near the hole/gap
.
New born baby is not able to move/ambulate, by itself
@xkadie999x Most stations have an eerie precisely leveled entrance between platform and stock-floor with very less of a gap between the two: however, when the station is in a bend, like here, the gap between platform and stock is bigger than at other stations.
@xkadie999x - In rail safety, they want to avoid idiots tripping over or getting their foot stuck in (their mouth, liek yous comment here), have you ever been forced to jump over a gap that's a yard long? And parents have dropped and killed their babies this way, you know.
i don't think it's worth having strong feelings about it. i would have preferred a female voice telling me to mind at her gap. And then i would have probably fell into it! :)
naa mate, we don't want voices telling us what to do..
And it will be a continuous stumbling block for me when I will pass my traineeship in London this autumn. I study English and have to mind correct pronunciation more than anyone else, and all of us know that all normal English people with a literary pronunciation - and BBC newsreaders today - say "gAp", WAY more open than this man.
