  • minduh the gap

  • x3 i live out in the country so i've never been on a tube or a subway system. ugh but i want to!! X3 as silly as it sounds lol

  • @aldena03 After hearing that about 20 times a day you start to be able to repeat it in your head. Also, I really like the "if you see any suspicious activity, please report to a MTA official". No shit

  • The German BND is the renamed 3rd Reich GESTAPO.The BND had organized the delegate Scheuermann of our county to visit or home.To allow him to personally experience how my brother and our parents had been tortured. The BND continued to torture my brother. He was assassinated on July 11th2009.Half a year after the assassination of my brother the CDU delegate Mappus from our district town Pforzheim was made prime minister of the German land of Baden Würtemberg

The CDU is the ruling party in Germany

  • New York's answer to this

"Stand clear of the closing doors, please"

  • Beside my hometown Berlin, London is my favourite city!

I even love the London undergrund.

Usually people hate this kind of public transportation system, because its loud and stuffy.

But in London it is a great atmosphere, especially the announcements!!

    I LOVE LONDON!!!

  • One of those ads on the wall should say "come a little closer"

    ecaf llort etaitini <---

  • Is it really so loud?

  • just be glad its not at bank with the central line cause that not a gap it's a fucking chasm

  • Mind the HYPER HYPER!

  • i miss loudon i was at the loudon tower and all i was asking is when are we going to go on the the tube agin i love that thing and it speeds up quick i loved it because here in New Jersey USA the subways or district lines (the subway in amrica is close to the streets) smell like crap are a 100 years old and they have trash all over them you can't even hear the announcer there is no room and they look like rapper trains because all of the gritffie on them

  • Someone mind the GODDAMN GAP!

  • I've been in various European cities and London has the best metro system with Munich as a close second. I need to go back to London...

  • "MIND the GEPP" - I love my country! :D

  • Mind... The Gap.

  • I actually love the London Underground.

  • Oh no!

    Yukari is fooling around again!

  • @filthiestfish yes it is

  • Is this very same announcement still being used today?

  • I got the T-shirt :D

  • 5 people did not mind the gap

  • now it's better..a girlvoice say: please mind the gap..;)

  • There's a "mind the gap, please" announcement that isn't as drawn out on a Central Line stop. I want to say Holborn.

  • i've lived in london for quite some time and i still dream about the most dramatic announcement ever.... miiiiiind (!!!!) the GAP!!!

and i still wonder who'd possibly fall into that sort of gap...

  • I just spent a week in LDN, and "mind the gap" is tatoo in my ming for ever.

  • I love this sentence, I love the tube, I love London, I love UK! =)

    Greetings from Germany

  • I wonder why they cannot get it right. Always either you have to climb up or jump down

  • I wonder if anybody ever yelled out "WE GET IT"

  • WORST GAP EVER!

    CENTRAL LINE - BANK!!!

  • i was in london and it sound difrant. it sounded like this "Mind the gap betewen the train and the platform".

  • Request to mind the gap is here by denied.

  • 4 people didn't mind the gap

  • @lotsofcooki3s u mean 8 people didn't mind the gap LOL

  • But your foot could easily go in the gap and break your ankle, leg or something. Also, on the platforms that are curved, the gap can be huge, like a foot and a half wide... like at Bank on the Central line.

  • I preffer "stand clear of the closing doors please" (New York City Subway)

  • @luisfsd1009 I can never understand what the announcers are saying on the MTA as they speak so fast. Just about hear them mutter something about Van Cortlandt Park and that's about it!

  • Mind The Gay And Proud

  • Has anyone ever not minded the gap? Is it even possible not to?

  • Mind the gap... Brought to you by Gap Clothing store! BOOM 4Million more bucks for transit expansion and construction!!!

  • @CandyLaStar I wonder if The Gap Clothing Store got their idea from this...

  • @Steph6n no The Gap clothing store got there name from there target market which was originally the gap of people between middle class and high class however I think there target market has changed a bit since to include more middle class and lesser social status people in order to target more people and larger growth and sales... ;)

  • @CandyLaStar Ah, I see. Thanks!

  • SHUT UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

  • This is the time of, the revolution, Minding the gap since 1996......

  • I like the colors on the train lol...where is this at?

  • @BKAlternativeRock The train is the LU (London Underground) 1995 Stock and the Station is Embankment :)

  • They all minded the gap! :D

  • i cannot stop myself laughing on it

  • @Playstation3Gamer10 Read the desc. It says "The most famous TUBE announcement". Everyone knows that TUBE means London Underground.

  • Epic announcement!

  • mind the what?

  • London's underground mind the gap is the best announcement ever!!!!

  • The one souvenir I bought in London was a mug with an underground sign reading "Mind the Gap"... And this announcement keeps stuck in my head

  • Much better than that bint who says "Please mind the gap between the train and the platform"

  • that train looks soo futuristic...

  • @leklekjasmine416 that's because our public transportation in amurrica is so weak :)

  • shut up and put up a wall of glass !

  • usually towns impress by having monuments, great buildings, a nice atmosphere, etc. .. London got all that but tops it with having the most brilliant public transportation system on this planet :D

  • Ahhhh Missing London Now .... Stop bringing these Vdo's.

  • i must say when he said that, i was SO CLUELESS WHERE TO FIND IT! XD How stupid can i be? (lol but i found it now...dym)

  • Fuck the gap!! Steve Merchant pwns!!

  • They could use this voice to torture people out of their houses.

    Mind the Gep!

  • for some reason i find these stations kind of ccreepy....i wouldn't like to be there..

  • I spent the summer in London or oh god I miss this!

  • Comment removed

  • Ouh, I miss London & the tube. : ( ♥

  • Wow, that "Bong" sound before it relay throws ya back in time

  • What happens if someones deaf!

  • here in Lisbon I think that it exists only one subway station with that announcemment that is Marquês de Pombal...

  • hehehe, like the famous Lumiere-train.

anyway, I don't like London, it's just so full of businessman and bankers.

  • "MinDDD... The GAP!!!".... x3

Oh for fuck sake... gotta love those little trains though... "MinDDD... The GAP!!!"

    SHUT UP!!!

  • Mind the gap! Just because we couldn't design stations better doesn't mean you need to fall in :D

  • wow that's annoying, the subway here in Toronto isn't as annoying. People aren't retarded that they need to be announced of a 3 inch gap between the platform and car. It's just station announcements.

  • "MIND *short pause* THE GAP!"

Hehe, this announcement started to annoy me after hearing it the 20th time and I did stumble over the gap, even though they announced it that many times o.O -.-

But London is a GREAT city! I would love to visit it again with my mum (and take a ride on the tube, which will make her scream all the time, because it is that far under the ground xD)

  • It always makes me giggle when I hear "please mind the gap" In Cantonese the word gap is slang for vagina.

  • Heard a bit different when I was in London.

    "Mind the gap PLEASE"

  • Is this what Tube afficiados refer to as "The Shouty Man" version of Mind the Gap?

  • I've heard it very often when I was in London

  • Non-UK: Thumbs up if you were sent here by Adventures with Creepy Medic

  • northen accent or sumin

  • Honestly, that's an incredibly depressing sounding message. They way the voicer spoke this makes me depressed. I don't know. :S

  • This is one of the most imprssive phrases I'd heard when I visited london for the first time!

    Wanna hear it again someday!

  • the electrified rail in the middle?

  • The norther lines make a sort of eeeee noise

  • i love this. in the train it always say: "pls mind the gap between the train and the platform" :D

  • "The traaayyyyns naaa reddy t'dpaaart, other incomprehensible guttural noise that nobody understands, trayyyns reddy t'depart"! God forbid he had to tell you something important.

  • I truly miss hearing this announcement.

  • LOOLL HIS VOICE "MINDDD THEE FUCKINGGG GAP" LMFAOO

  • the reson he says mind the gap coz of your own safety wtf cant even work that out

  • hilarious .. i want wanna those

  • thank you, that is so nice of you :)

  • #FAIL

  • @sinchydogtrainz

    I really hate 'FAIL'.

    It gets on my wick.

Every 11 year old boy = FAIL, OMG, LOL, LOLZ, LOLCATS, LOL OMG, EPIC NOOB

  • @Doomsday2060 1 think IM 9 xD

  • mind your own fukkin biznes!

  • Don't tell me to mind the gap, I WANT MY FUCKING MONEY BACK!

  • The worlds most famous words! :-)

    I love London!

  • Ill mind your gap!

  • Yes Im retarted im falling trough one inch hole

  • Please mind the gap between my brother's ears !

  • Oh what why did they change it, the same guy used to say "stand clear of the doors please!"

  • I love this announcment. My friends and I counldn't stop saying it while we were in London last year.

  • This is Embankment. Change here for the bakerloo, the circle and the district lines. This train terminates at Kennington. The next station is Waterloo. Please stang clear of the closing doors, mind the doors !

  • Some gaps on the London Underground are massive. And due to the large number of passengers rushing in and out you better pay attention....

  • Judging by your comment i am guessing you havent sampled a ride on the underground and seen the "GAP" at various stns..

Waterloo on the Bakerloo line, (both platforms) & Embankment on the Northern line,(Northbound platform), as seen in the above clip are just 2 stns i can mention where the gap between the train and the platform is rather large to say the least.

In the case of Waterloo, it would be very EASY indeed for a new born baby or even a fully grown adult to fall into the gap !!.

  • Well i apoligise for my light-handed but inaccurate comment, and i retract my statment immediatly :) x

  • for real

  • @twsm410 Yeah. you better MIND THE GAP. In New York some gaps are about a foot wide. one station the train comes in on a bank and a curve as well as the station's track is up and down.

  • On a recent trip to Newyork's subway there was an automatic gap warning at an unknown station (somwhere after bowling green station). And a metal grill within the platform automatically extended to reduce that gap, it was absolutely amazing. This made me think of LT's station. But the tube beats NY metro in cleanliness, probably becuase the metro line is composed of rusty steel pillars rather than a self supporting tube.

  • @twsm410 Dear Me.,

A new born could not easliy fall down the gap, because newborns are covered by legislation which protects them from danger, the like of which would be falling down such a hole; guardian or parent is liable to prosecution if there were any chance of a new born baby going anywhere near the hole/gap

    .

New born baby is not able to move/ambulate, by itself

    .

    Cheeers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • @twsm410 but NOT on this station....

  • @twsm410 is safe has anyone actually fallen in

  • @twsm410 Great reply. I got my foot stuck stuck in one of the 'gaps' when I was in a hurry. Please be careful on the tube!

  • @twsm410 Or Baker Street (platform 2), Southbound Bakerloo line (Leiscter Square)

  • @twsm410 Baker Street platform 2 (Met Line)

  • @xkadie999x can be quite a big gap

  • @ashthemainman2012 why is everyone taking my lighthearted comment so seriosly xx lol :)

  • @xkadie999x well i thought it was just funny, Huge gap.. but just shows people are foolish enough to fall though it ¬_¬ everything.. H&S (N)

  • @xkadie999x Most stations have an eerie precisely leveled entrance between platform and stock-floor with very less of a gap between the two: however, when the station is in a bend, like here, the gap between platform and stock is bigger than at other stations.

  • @xkadie999x - In rail safety, they want to avoid idiots tripping over or getting their foot stuck in (their mouth, liek yous comment here), have you ever been forced to jump over a gap that's a yard long? And parents have dropped and killed their babies this way, you know.

  • That's such a great warning message - genius!

  • why many people feel so funny & interested in Mind the Gap?? It just a very normal message. @.@ weird..

  • I remember this announcement very well lol

  • Mind the gap....mind the gap, please....

  • this voice is so damn annoying!

  • Hello, I'm spanish

What does exactly mean 'mind the gap'?

  • Comment removed

  • It means the space in the platform between the yellow line and train.

  • Cuidado con el hueco entre el vagón y el anden.

  • it means beware the space between the subway and the platform

  • the gap between the train and the platform

  • the gap between the train and platform

  • MIND THE GAP!!!

  • i guess some unlucky person didn't

  • @Lunarlaserranging Yep. A man got dragged around by his leg at the Kennington loop! Mind the gap!

  • mind the gap is a London national treasure

Keep the old voice , dont change it, if you find on youtube the video

    Ajax- Mind The Gap

    they have sampled the message

  • i don't think it's worth having strong feelings about it. i would have preferred a female voice telling me to mind at her gap. And then i would have probably fell into it! :)

naa mate, we don't want voices telling us what to do..

  • i hate "mind the gap"

  • "MIND THE GAP" i miss that sound :-D

  • I am going to make that 'MIND THE GAP' sound recording into a grade II* listed building so they can't get rid of it :p

  • love london

  • Doesn't "THE GAP" sound kinda American?

  • "mind... the GAP!!" gotta love london!!!!

  • i think this is the worlds most beautiful tube...

  • I never ride on the London underground, but it looks so cool!

  • I already miss hearing this announcement.

  • its still alive and kicking at Embankment !!.

  • Hahah! I know, as well as Tower Hill and Stepney Green... I was just there a few months ago.

    I miss London, that's all.

  • hahaha!!!

    "miiinnnddd....(what!?)...the gAAAp!"

Oh man, I love the tube!

  • this annoyes me. it sounds like someone speaking in the 1950s on the bbc. very posh

  • And it will be a continuous stumbling block for me when I will pass my traineeship in London this autumn. I study English and have to mind correct pronunciation more than anyone else, and all of us know that all normal English people with a literary pronunciation - and BBC newsreaders today - say "gAp", WAY more open than this man. Meanwhile, I will probably hear this "gEAp" almost as in "drEAry" every time I will board the tube. This is ridiculous.

  • the recording of mind the gap is from the 1960s and was first used in embankment.

  • the announcements of the london tube are annoying... that voice is annoying! Singapore mrt is way better!

  • its great! its london!

  • at least better than the new one

  • Some people have too much time on their hands........

  • nice

  • Great Video, Does Embankment Station have ticket barriers?

  • Yes, all tube stations have ticket barriers except Finsbury Park, because there isn't enough room.

  • Thanks! Merry Christmas!

  • Now THATS the proper mind the gap

  • sounds like the orignal mind the gap auto annocemnt when first introduced in 1969.

  • where can I hear it?:D

  • Its more likely at any Northern line station as the mind the gap auto annocements were first introduced in the northern line, just like the dot matrix indicators introduced in 1983.

  • You can hear it at Embankment station on the Northbound platform. To my knowledge this is the only station that still uses the original "Mind The Gap" announcement. Waterloo on the Bakerloo, Bank on the Central & Victoria on the Circle/District & a few other locations where platforms are located on curves all use other announcements which are, in my opinion, more polite and not as firm and authoritive as the original announcement which is still in use at Embankment.

    Hope this helps.

  • cool vid

  • very hardcore

  • cool
