My mom worked at the Mattel factory in Industry 1969-1970 when they still made Hot Wheels in the U.S. I had so many redlines back then. I don't have any of those from my childhood unfortunately.
You know what totally WRONG about this commercial? It shows kids playing with their Hot Wheels in the DIRT!
My friends played with their cars in the dirt and that's why they didn't last. I never put mine in the dirt! And that's why I still have over 200 redllines in beautiful condition.
i hated to use my hot wheels anywhere but smoothe flat flooring. i found that if you use hot wheels of any sort on cement or in dirt it gets pebbles in the cars and the tires gt all rough
@librarianeric I played with most all my Hot Wheels in the dirt. Dirt is all we had. It was the best! All kinds of fun stuff. Of course, don't have any of them any more. I bet if someone took a metal detector to where I grew up, they'd find some buried cars.
@CosmicGrooves Right on!!!...My friends and i always played with our hot wheels in the dirt. We would build towns and houses and roads. We had a blast! We played with our G.I. Joes in the dirt and trees and bushes. You name it we played outseide with it!..We were never in doors getting fat and lazy. We didnt stand 10 feet from eachother and text all freaking day. When mom called us to eat we were starving from being outside all day. We didnt live at Mcdonalds like the kids do now.
My younger brother had the Beach Bomb. I had many of the others that I started collecting in 1969. A basement flood wiped them all out in the late 80's.
kid:man a##.lol was the guys at mattel high when they named that one?

Having a Hot Wheels and not playing with it at least once equals having a naked pretty girl and do nothing with her !!!!

Hot Wheels... the best toys ever created.

The second "Hot Wheels" ad was v/o by the late Danny Dark.

Toys are designed to be played with. You should thank the kids that ruined so many, unwittingly creating rarities for the annoying collectors market.
I think it's Orson Welles on the voice over. From Citizen Kane to this...

DarthSaiga 2 years ago
The Beach Bomb is actually fairly common.
It's the Beach Bomb with the boards that load through the rear window that is so rare.

@DarthSaiga No, but I know who does.
