@starks701 Directed towards not only kids but nostalgic fans who miss the the age of innocence. There are a couple serious episodes but mostly it was a callback/fanwank toward the silver age. It's a fun and nostalgic ride that in some ways pokes fun at how people have grown only to believe "mature" stories are good. Not to say mature stories are bad, but some stories just use it as a gimmick get more readers. This show is meant only for fun and thats all you should think it to be.

Brave and Bold is aimed at kids because it's DC's version of Marvel Super Hero Squad and the problem is that, for most of the viewers, the only Batman they know is from the DCAU shows and the Arkham games.

I have to admit, I had a pretty negative opinion of this show initially, but I'm giving it another chance. It's a bit like the 60s Adam West Batman; it doesn't take itself too seriously, and really just meant to be fun to watch. But they still throw in some easter eggs: I just watched a clip of Batman fighting Superman. He used a tech suit just like the one from the Dark Knight Returns, and recreated a lot of the comic frames from that fight. It was cool to see some nods to the source material.
