Hello, I just did the same thing and thought "maybe someone did it already on the net" ... I propose to write NOP NOP NOP NOP NOP which is HexValues is 90 90 90 90 90 at adress 0003EF52 of the .exe (instead of the call instruction)

To do that I used Windbg to find the instruction which opens the Dialog Box (attach to process + Threads view + Call stack + disasembler view) , and Hxd to edit the .exe

thtz bcoz u have winrar.exe open in 2 or more situations..when u edit the .exe in hiew u gotta make sure no other program app has it opened at the same time..so u cant try edit it while it is open in hdasm

Would you please list the version you cracked (out of curiosity) as well as why 90 was entered in HEIW? It may have given me insight to try to figure out my issue myself!

basically what's going on is you're trying to make it so the dialog box that bitches whether or not you have a trial version doesn't come up. switching the 00 to 90 and putting the 90s above it is basically just "commenting out" the jump to the code that does the reminder. should work in all versions.

When you are at the last step and you press F3, a RED warning comes up that you are in "Read Only Mode" So no changes can be made!

Today nobody use HIEW anymore... If you need a disassembler you habe to use W32DASM + Bratpatch. But here OllyDBG will do the job...
