  • How much is the firs rifle the classic wooden one because it doesn't say on the sight and I'm trying to find a good but not to expensive one

  • Both of those look like they'd work for snake defense.

  • The only reason for the chrome lining is corrosive ammo, such as the Yugo M67. The chrome makes it easier to clean up afterwards. Without proper care, corrosive surplus can ruin your barrel over time. Just look at some of the "sewer pipe bores" in Mosin Nagants. However, don't let the "corrosive" tag scare you. I've shot well over 1K through my Arsenal Saiga AK, no rust or damage yet, and one of the most accurate surplus ammos out there.

  • dear god that poor ak :(

  • Jeff, I have a Yugo M70 AB2 underfolder built by Century Arms. I noticed that most of the made in USA Ak's do not have a chrome lined barrel. Do you think this is a problem and if so do you think a manufacturer will start producing US made chrome lined barrels like they do for AR 15's? Thanks in advance for the response and as always great review.

  • I prefer to not have chrome nor anything else in my barrels. I find better accuracy without the chrome.

    jeff

  • Jeff, those are some impressive targets!

  • Jeff, I rarely comment but this caught my eye I'm interested... Would you say inter ordnance has stepped up their quality control ?

  • Yes, they are now making their own, instead of importing.

    jeff

  • Yeah, had an early AK-47 I.O. and it was great. New ever a problem...

  • Hi Jeff, I have a unrelated question for you. I got a MKA 1919 Shotgun for Xmas. Do you plan to do a review ton that tactical shotgun? Thanks

  • It is not on the schedule at this time.

    Jeff

  • I'd always heard I.O. had issues with with heat treating.

I've seen quite a few blow out the rear trunnion. If that's been taken care of these might be worth another look.

  • @skyhop I've also heard reports of poorly pressed rivets.

  • Sorry accidently hit the dislike button while on my stupid smartphone.

  • SUPER!...

  • Will these take surplus ak mags?

  • Yes they will.

    jeff

  • Hey IO Inc. make a version that's legal for Connecticut, like maybe in 5.45x39mm.

  • That Tactical just looks beautiful.

  • Made in AMERICA! That is what I like to hear :)

  • Jeff I know its like picking a favorite kid and all which in your do you think is the better value the tactical or the sporter? BTW good video

    v/r

    Brad

  • I do not know the prices on either, but it just depends upon the features that you prefer.

    Jeff

  • i have an io and i like it alot . I wanted to buy an arsenal but didnt feel like paying 800 dollars for an ak. I feel i made a great decision

  • I assume they take rgular AK mags?

  • Jeff, that really cool tactical black job is a mean-looking rifle. Might have to grab me one of them. Thanks for the vid - great as always!

  • slidefire does make a stock for the AK.

  • Wish we could have these in Canada.... stupid law makers. "Oh, its an AK, that automatically makes you a terrorist...Prohib list!" ... At least I can have a Vz58. :)

  • @em613 Many would argue the vz.58 is better than the AK.

  • @rogermcgee1 So I have been told, that its like a "revised" Ak, so maybe I should be happy! No jams, no issues, hundreds of rounds going strong :)

  • @em613 Actually, it's internal design is more similar to a WWII German rifle. (I forget the model) But yeah, I've got 3 AKs but had to pick up a Czech vz.58 cause of all the good things I heard about it. Can't wait to shoot it.

  • Great review of my favorite rifle, Jeff. Those two look really nice. Happy New Year to you and yours.

  • Damn I wish we could own AKs here in communist Canada

  • @jntroisi me too brother. It sucks!

  • Good to know, and YAY US! My STG2000C is a good shooter, but damn!

  • I know an AK is an AK. But how would you compare this to a Aresnal??

  • The Arsenal AKs look good, but I have not fired one, so am not qualified to comment.

    jeff

  • To bad Connecticut wont let me own them

  • Sweet Looking Guns

  • Yay, view and thanks for the review.Always enjoy. Hello from Omaha NE

  • the reflex costs more then the ak47...

  • Sweet firearm

  • IO makes a AK pistol called the Hellpup. Would love to see a review on that if you can. Great vid as always.

  • i like the look of the iron site built on the gas block. is that quad rail a utg or IO manufacture?

  • YEP

  • I used to own a Robinson VEPR .223 rem. AK,was damn accurate and reliable, however I do not believe they still import those anymore

  • I own a wasr 10 love it it to deathi am impressed with the over all impression I got from it don't like the clear mag if u can see ur rounds so can they

  • I'd love to get one of these unfortunately AK pattern rifles in 7.62x39 are illegal in Connecticut.

  • @nbenicewicz sounds like a liberal goofball misguided law!

  • @nbenicewicz

how so? banned by name? banned by feature?

  • @762x54rgun Apparently by type the way the law is written. However I do see other AK pattern rifles for sale in gun shops chambered in 5.45mm, .223/5.56mm and .308 and they're legal.

Stupid I know, I didn't make it up.

  • @556DOS45 Someone needs to start a quotes page for him. There's a least one good "line" in every video. Love it.

  • I like them.

    Glock n Load,

    Mike

  • price?

  • LOLZ @ 3:44 'I'm gonna point it at my little brother... becuz he dont care' :-)

Jeff you can muzzle sweep me anytime too brother! You are a true southern gentleman and a fine example of what good American gun enthusiasm is all about!

    Keep up the videos!

  • Are these chrome lined barrels?

  • @Archer46176

They were not chrome lined the last time I actively inquired about these rifles, which was ~ summer 2010. No big deal though if you're not shooting a lot of corrosive Eastern bloc surplus ammo and then not cleaning the weapon.

  • @wildcatactual Thanks for the reply, I wasn't sure if they were or not. I have seen some that were, some that weren't and some that didn't know if they were or not...LOL... But like you said as long as the firearm gets cleaned not a big worry even with the corrosive stuff. I have several firearms I run corrosive through and they are fine... I am a cleaning nut though when it comes to that stuf... Again thanks for the reply I enjoy the reviews, videos and the beard. I am a big beard guy myself...

  • @Archer46176

The one area where chrome lining will really pay off is when you do a lot of high volume firing. I'm talking several hundred or more rounds at a time, several times per month. In that scenario chrome, being harder than the barrel steel, will help preserve the lands and grooves. But realistically how many people get anywhere near that level of use? So for the vast majority of people, non-chrome lined is just fine. Accuracy is probably helped a bit as well.

  • Great video Jeff, thanks!

  • I presume the barrels on those aren't chrome line?

  • I think you presume correctly. They are match-grade barrels.

    jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom What grade barrel steel are they? And who's barrels are they using?

  • I do not know.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom do they not chrome line match barrels? good video btw very helpful

  • I hope not. Chrome lining does nothing for accuracy. I prefer no chrome in my barrels.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom thanks for your reply jeff, have you ever come across an L85A1/2 in your time? Its my service rifle.

  • Russian buddy of mine saw this video. He says you will look good in a Cossack outfit and shooting the AK. I told him you were from GA USA not GA USSR. You probably can get away as a Cossack until you are forced to talk. Good video. Always look forward to viewing them because you intro many interesting product. When gun makers ask how I learn of them, I reference your youtube site. Good job.

  • Close - I'm from Tennessee.

  • Hi

I subscribe to you and you have a lot of good stuff.

This one you should have showed that the Mag and rifle was unloaded before you cocked it, and pulled the trigger, on the first rife.

Just a poit of safety note.

The rifle gun pistol is always loaded till proved safe.

Sorry to be critical but thats just the way it goes.

  • @ugotit33x really now? im sure jeff is just fine with his firearm skills. people like you need to just go away from the community

  • @FPSdaybreaK

I'm sure he is, and I was not being stupid, but there could be some people

that are not aware of things. Sorry your pist at my comment

  • @ugotit33x i dont get angry over words so dont worry ;-)

  • @FPSdaybreaK nor should you get "pist" over shitty grammar :p keep on keepin' on haha

  • I checked it before the camera started running.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom

    Brother I'm sure you did.

I'm a gunsmith here in Canada also a USA citizen and I was in the USA army.

I love your channel as we all have to be open and aware in these days upon us.

    The world is fucked.

It was just a point I made because everyone and his sister has acces to youtube

and it is up to us to point out safety. I'm sure you missed that one because all the others you are right on the money.

Take it with a grain of salt Cheers

  • @Gunblastdotcom I'm sure your little brother appreciated that. lol

  • Very nice

  • Nice vid, the classic AK with wood stock looks good.

  • So much for AK's not being accurate! I think a lot of people have the misconception that AK's are really inaccurate.

  • @abz520

IMO the main issues are the crummy iron sights & poor quality surplus ammo. Fine for hosing a MG nest at close range but not very good for shooting small, aimed groups. I've yet to see the AK that doesn't show a significant improvement in accuracy when used with quality commercial ammo or handloads & better sights. They'll never be match grade target guns but 2-2.5 MOA isn't a big deal & 3 MOA is commonplace with these simple upgrades.

  • @wildcatactual

Your correct sir it is easy to improve AK accuracy. Upgraded iron sights and or a properly mounted optic and decent ammo. Simple! I had a Romanian AK with an iron sight that mounted between the rear of the dust cover and in front of the buttstock. It increased the sight radius and the rear sight had a circle style aperture similar to the M4. With that sight and good ammo sub 2 MOA was the norm. The AK is a battle rifle never intended to be on a bench rest shooting groups.

  • What a hell of a job you have :)

  • The slidefire stock for the AK 47 is now available!!!

  • all the IO review, I read was all negetive

  • you got a hair cut ....

  • is that scope on back to front?

  • The scope is mounted correctly.

    Jeff

  • all the I.O.s ive picked up have been the worst quality ive ever seen on any ak. the "cheap" wasr10s are far better quality. now unless something has changed with I.O. recently, i wont be buying one.

  • @762x54rgun

I would get an Arsenal before I would even look at these.

  • I.O. previously imported rifles, and could not control the quality, so now they are building them in the US.

    Jeff

  • "I'm going to point it at my little brother, cause he don't care"

I wish I had a brother I could trust like that!

  • I've seen these advertised about a year ago. They also have the hellhound pup. They seem ok I guess.

  • You are a titan of industry, good sir. Keep up the good work!

  • Great info and great review as always. Thanks Jeff
