I can see similarities between roy andersson and david lynch. They both use similar camera teknique (sometiemes at least) and odd people to tell the story. Wonder if they have influenced one another?

When and where did Ingmar Bergman say that these were among the best commercials in the world? As far as I know, Bergman hated Roy Andersson's way of making films, and was a critic of what Andersson has produced.

If you search for Andersson and Bergman, you will find a list of movies at the Bermanorama, where Bergman picks one of Anderssons Films as one of the best swedish movies. Andersson was a student at his school and he did not liked him personally, but he said „Furthermore, he makes the best commercials in the world. So paikov, who posted the videos, is absolutely right.

I saw his "Du Levande" (i think the english title is You, the living) yesterday. A wonderful movie, almost as good as Songs from the second floor. I hadn't seen many of these commercials before, but they where also great.

Andersson's great. One of the best today. For those comparing him with Bergman, you're completly out of track. They are two very different filmmakers using two very different styles, talking about very different subjects. The only comparaison we can make is: they're both swedish. That's all.
