Yes I know for a fact that he uses Shure PG series on the Toms. AT4040 on one of his overheads, the other not sure of, SM57 on the snare and Audix D6 on the kick.

@MissPurpur You can start practicing all of this just by taping your legs! Believe me! I started like that 1 year ago, and I still do everyday at the office, it's an excellent drum workout :)

@MissPurpur That's awesome. Like someone else said, practice any way you can: with your hands on your legs (I do this all the time), and one of my personal favorites is beatboxing. Now, I don't have great effects, i.e., if you gave me a mic, I might not sound great. But I do it when I'm walking along and I think of a rhythm. It let's me get in the habit of working out rhythms in my head, and internalizing them.

Mike had a footcam once in one of his live lessons. Being an online student of his, I know he will tell you its not needed and I agree. Mike's technique is sorta like a slide technique but skips instead of sliding. I know seeing it you think you will learn from it but really it's just practice. And yes it's all single kick....Mike always says to just practice cleanly and gradually increase the tempo and speed will come.
