  • As a matter of fact, Sacramento, we , the common man and voter, are smart enough to tell the difference between pellets and gunpowder. I know its a radical idea, personal responsibility, but it has worked before. If you really want them out of the hands of children, prohibit toys and airsoft materials from being sold in the same store or in nearby stores.

  • Someone please Video tape this and Post it on YouTube I really want to see there reaction

  • this is what happend in the uk in 2007 we had a law come out that changed airsoft in the uk for ever! its called the two- tone law. all airsoft guns must be painted green, bluse, orange omg i miss the old normal airsoft.

  • when will sb798 be decided on?

  • I think airsoft guns should not be able to be sold in places such as walmart because if a little kid runs by there going to be like OH L00k A gUn, and beg their irresponsible parents to buy it for then which usually will result in injuries. Airsoft guns should only be sold in dealerships dedicated to airsoft guns and gear.

  • dude this is a really good point

  • im really glad to seeing you all acting and getting something done against this Bill BUT it should NEVER have come to this in the first place.

your a country with real guns and yet your dumb enough to get airsoft banned damn thats stupid.

we in the UK dont have real guns and we have airsoft, we have rules to protect us and the police and the public and we have no problems at all.

  • what if they came to a conclusion of banning airsoft in general to stop crimes like this? im getting worried to that conclusion....

  • i wish i could go but im in new york and dont have the money not to buy a plane ticket

  • Gob Bless Dr. Airsoft, that was incredibly helpful!

  • @BobHildebrand

    Thank you, Axeman.

  • 3 days before my birthday, I might go and just troll them. It's only a 1 hour drive for me :D

  • Prohibition would save lives, what about that?

  • For the love of god, people, do whatever you can. Be respectful, be strong, and be heard. SB798 NEEDS to be defended.

  • Airsoft MUST live!!!

  • dont forget to mention Penal Code § 20170 and Penal Code § 20180

  • When's the vote?

  • @navarrotrout

There is a hearing scheduled for June 21 with the Public Safety Commission of the Assemvly.

  • Fav + liked

Very good vid to do on this matter. Very pleased to see someone do something like this. its above the norm "say no to sb798"...Very cool

Hope this makes its way around the net.

  • If for the people that cant come, can we make a online video. for you to play for them? :D

  • @blackhawk42x

That would be fun, but I don't see that happening.

  • You have a very nice point there. I think that may be major point in fighting SB798

  • Everyone please join the fight again the bill SB798

  • This is crazy! We went through a similar process in the UK where the Govt wanted to ban all replica firearms. They went with the two tone guns for general sale but wisely allowed people who can prove they are genuine skirmishers a defence from prosecution. Thus people like myself can still buy and own realistic airsoft guns as we successfully argued that being forced to use brightly coloured guns would be highly negative to the ethos and realism that airsoft games have.

  • This was the same argument with video games. There's a reason they have a rating system, and there's a reason you have to be 17 to buy an M rated game. But stupid parents buy their stupid kids whatever they want, and problem continues.

  • Be sure to be in room 126 well before 9:00 AM to be able to sign-in.

  • This would make it way worst. Insted of people thinking an airsfot gun is a real gun, people are going to think a real gun is an airsoft gun. Somebody can just easily spraypaint the parts of their gun so they could walk around with a fully loaded rifle.

  • I wish I could help you on this, but I live in Pennsylvania.

  • @Madraeus Call and voice your support. You don't have to be in or live in California to voice your support. Visit Airsoft Gi's facebook page for more information.

  • Dr, Airsoft, I'm not too thrilled about your argument. It will lead to the safety committee wanting to ban airsoft guns all together.

  • @g36cLover

I understand your concern. I have found that this is the only argument that the people in Senator DeLeon's office would consider as a reason to stop the current bill. I would not want this argument used to completely ban airsoft because that is unnecessary. The medical literature supports the fact that the correct use of airsoft guns by adults is a very safe sport.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup Will you be showing up to address the committee? I

  • @btrules

I can't make it. I already changed a day of appointments, and this short notice after already moving a day of patients would be very bad form.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup, Sure would help to have a well spoken doctor in the room. The argument also needs to be made about general public making the wrong assumption as to weather or not airsoft guns can be used to cause harm or cause danger to the operator or others near by.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup I would like to see the safety record of airsoft compared to sports such as football, soccer, and hockey. Maybe then people will have a new perspective of the safety of airsoft.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup

I still believe that an education approach is a better idea to get them to stop. My proposal:

CA SB 798 - I'd like to propose and even develop an online Airsoft safety course that issues certificates through a registry approved by the state as a compromise to this bill. Only authorized retailers could sell the guns to certificate holders. (continued)

  • @g36cLover

I would rather not have to follow your proposal, but I would gladly take it over SB 798.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup

Charge a nominal fee and kick back the funds generated to the state as a compromise to the bill. This method will ensure Replica Safety Education as well as create a few more jobs while generating money for the state. I do have the skills to develop and establish such a system, and would gladly.

  • @g36cLover

Again, I would rather not enlarge the bureaucracy, but your proposal is better than SB 798. I view this as the responsibility of the manufacturers or retailers rather than the state. Some retailers are very good already about promoting the safe use of airsoft. This is contrasted by the big box stores that just move product.

  • @g36cLover If they say that then just argue that they are banning airsoft guns yet they still allow easy access to real guns, which in some cases the owners are mentally unstable? Maby they need to amend the second amendment to say you also have the right to bear airsoft guns in black

  • @g36cLover : banning airsoft guns all together is a little extreme, if they did seriously want to do that it would take ALOT of time, and all the hassle, phone calls, and tons of mail from non supporters would not be woth the headache to them, airsoft isnt nearly a big enough problem for them to consider banning them all together.

  • @zenkicookies

I agree with you that this argument would not result in a total ban on airsoft, but I think that such a threat might come in the future. We need a sound victory against this bill as it currently stands.

  • Thank you very much. This is going to be such a great help to those able to attend.
