  • My favorite of his etudes : )

  • @Trystaticus Mine too :D

  • this piece is boring in my opinion

  • Yes, pianist is full brilhant and perfect, record have good quality but piano is problem. It dont have longevit sound and voice. Too oposite Horowitz piano.

  • this is a brilliant, pure and quite frankly divine performance..he is totally there with the music..and so wonderful not to be distracted by the ridiculous theatrics of some other pianists who have become fashionable of late

  • I would have liked a little more rubato. Its an excellent performance nonetheless. Chopin took the theme from the opening of Act 2 of Norma, his favourite opera, composed by idol, Bellini, who had died aged 34 a couple of years before the publication of this etude. I suspect he was mourning Bellini's death. It should be as brooding as possible. Some famous pianist last century mentioned that you've got to listen to Maria Callas sing Bellini to play Chopin properly. I think its true.

  • The posts below are directed towards MarchMadnezz. A person who is a small minded bigot. Watch how he will try and berate me for commenting about his racist and demeaning comments.

  • Hey, you piece of shit redneck, why don't you read the comments before you write replies? It was music45866 who tried to "repress" my opinion. I was giving him a taste of his own medicine. And you can't tell that he's white? I can and you know why? It's because I've seen plenty of white trash like you and he who have a superior attitude towards anyone who doesn't agree with them. What I happen to think of Gavrylyuk is my fucking business

  • I'm Chinese, and I do think that Lang Lang is hype. There are many Chinese (and non-Chinese) pianists who possess more musical depth than him, even if they do not possess his virtuosity. I found his playing quality deplorably lacking in emotional insights. He's only good for showpieces such as Islamey.

  • and neither he nor you have the right to look down at me for it.

In other words, why don't you read the comments before you post or better yet, keep ass ramming your mother and stop interfering in other people's business?

  • Tell us, oh great piano professor and communist party apologist, what do you think of Stanley Ho of Hong Kong? Do tell, if you dare to go on record about it. Lets see how many expletives you can use in this case. Trust me, they'll get back to him and his people. Have a nice day.

  • A spiritual interpretation!

  • You make me laugh with your ignorance. You are clearly not an educated musician. Lang Lang and musicality do not even fit in the same sentence let alone insight. Lang Lang is nothing more than a walking marketing machine who is used to appeal to the Asian market.

  • Hey, you stupid fuck. What gives you the right to rate Lang Lang or any other performer? Do you have an international pianistic career under your belt? Have you played with every major orchestra in the world? Yet, you're talking about musicality or Lang Lang's lack thereof with a sense of superiority as if being white gives you the right to look down upon Asian musicians.

  • He has as much right to rate Lang Lang as you do. People who try to repress others thoughts, ideas, and words are themselves stupid. You have no clue if the person you are berating is white. So that only shows that you yourself are a bigoted racist.

  • That only shows that you're some inbred racist fuck who has his dick up his mama's asshole even as he is reading this. Why don't you screw off and keep on ass ramming your mama instead of pretending to know anything about music?

  • Ah, the homophobe running rampant again. I see we have mixed in some incest this time as well. You sure do have some personality issues. You need to see a psychiatrist.

  • Yeah. I never said I wasn't a homophobe. I'd rather be a homophobe than a flaming faggot like you.

And by the way, it's you who have the personality issues if you have to come on an entirely different post in order to start an argument with me after getting your ass whooped on another post. Get a life you inbred piece of shit or take up a hobby aside from fucking your parents.

  • As I said, a small minded bigot. LOL

  • I'd rather be a small-minded bigot than a videogame obsessed geek who lives with his mother at age 30. By the way, can't you get laid? Is shooting people in virtual reality the only way you can get your rocks off, you fucking faggot?

  • lol actually it does sound like one, i like your vids btw

  • Simply wonderful!!!Bravo Alexander!

  • Horowitz's recording of this etude in 1962 was truly a wonderful interpretation.

  • Yes, Horatiodreamt it was indeed.

This young mans performance is also - fully realizing the tragedy/drama aspects of the piece!

  • Not as good as this, however. This is PERFECTION -- and I NEVER say that.

  • Gavriluck is a master pianist and this is truly one exceptional performance of this Etude.

  • bravo

  • We saw Mr. Gavrylyuk perform in Chautauqua this summer and he was unbelievable. Very talented gentleman. Would definitley love to see him perform agai. How come we can't download your songs from Napster? SLD

  • One of the best etude op.25 no.7 I ever heard. Simply perfect.

  • exquisite!

  • go honey! love you

    Zoki

  • I don't understand why someone rated this performance so poor. Not only a virtuoso, Gavrylyuk is a colorist.

  • this is great
