In 1958, I was 15, our local coffeebar opened in Southgate North London. It was called the Mayfair. Full on with glass cups on the top of the coffee machine. The Juke box was something special, it played a MOVIE of the artist singing while the record played. Do you know what kind of Jukebox that was??
At first, I thought you were kidding, but then realized many people under the age of 50 have never seen a jukebox up close. At least, you are cognizant of LP's, but they were way too large to install in a jukebox. An even more ancient format called 45's (which contained only one song (or track) per side were used in the old boxes.
sometimes it's fun sometimes it's not! i have a collection of 4 seeburgs from 67-76 and i cantell you from experience they were tempermental . when they were new so you can imagine what they are like after 20-30 years of bar room use. but there is nothing like jukebox sound ,so they are fun when they are working and sounding good.
Sure I can imagine since I repair and restore jukes since 1999.
But with a professional service those "horses" are still very reliable ! You are right nothing else sounds like juke ! Let's keep jukin' forever ! :-)

Great sound!
How does it know which track to play in the LP? How can it detect track changes? Seeing this machine just made me wonder how do they work.
