  • brings back memoies of STREET DANCES in the 50's................what a great time!

  • come check out RETARDS WITH RAYGUNS a horror doo wop band

  • I just saw the Cleftones last night (my friend produced the show) and they perform PERFECT! What a performance! We could have listened to them all night long. If you ever get a chance to see them live rest assured you wont be disappointed.

  • These were the gentlemen who set the foundation for music today. But unfortunately the music today consist of offensive and derogatory lyrics, gansta rap etc. It is nice to hear just old fashion harmony about a boy and girl and one being in love. Gentlemen you are in class of your own, truley one of a kind. If music be the fruit of love, then play on !!!

  • I got chills!! very good video here :)..I miss doo wop :(

  • The Penguins 50 + years on and they still got the moves on stages . . . . brilliant.

  • Those are the original leads of both The Penguins and Cleftones, and they sound just as good as they did 50+ years ago.Amazing talents, great music, thank you so much for posting.

  • A golden oldie for certain!!!

    A real STREET DANCE classic!!!

    jk

  • Those were difficult years, but creativity, smile, and gentleness were there...

Where , why we lost that ?

  • Im afraid Kanye West is going to grab his mic...

  • Is the person singing lead Cleve Duncan???? Good song!!!

  • these groups have real talent and i could listen to them all day ..thanks to rathahonni for all the great music he has posted..x

  • Musicians of this era have a class, elegance and talent about them that unfortunately, in today's society, will not be as popular as the noise that is called music today. These men are classy in their dress, they give a moving performance and unlike today, created true music with their true talent. Music back then made you feel good. The noise now makes most people feel depressed and hateful. May God bless the talented and uncomparable groups of the 50's! :)

  • Just this : I totally agree !

  • Yeah Tonya,You got that right man I miss those days,And the songs they made you feel alive something special.

  • @TonyaAllender

    noise. the appropriate word. lol

  • @TonyaAllender yoUR aRE SO EXACTLY RIGHT

  • hands down, one of the songs of my growing up, forever music, great sound

  • I loved it way back then - and even more so now! This brings fond memories of the 'good old days"!

    They can still sing...

  • The greatest doo-wop song when it was released

in 1954 and still on top 55 years later, now the

question is, who is still in the group. Sure sound like Cleve Duncan singing lead.

  • I think the Cleftones sound better in this 1999 redux than they did in 1959 !!!

  • Earth Angel...This is the oldest of the "Golden Oldies"... I mean... if someone says "The Golden Oldies"... this is the one you think of first, isn't it...???

  • I first saw The Cleftones in the late 50's at the Brooklyn Paramount, with Alan Freed. They sounded the same as they do now. Just great!

  • This is great!

The Cleftones sound just the same as they did 50 years ago. What talent!

  • I agree.

  • ¡Qué viva doo wop!¡ es lo máximo!

I wish I was born at that time, so much fun and respect.

  • What a classic....Gimme more

  • This tune and "Hush a Bye" by the Mystics were two of the biggest sellers of the era. And deservidly so.

  • when are you guys comming to california??

  • you should be proud of your uncle.he can still sing after all these years.i seen them in vegas years ago.they're great singers!

  • And, their singing live. And, it's 50+ years later. How good does it get? Real good. Doo-Wop, the greatest sounding music to one's ear.

  • @stripemister The groups today don't last 50 days before they kill themselvs or shoot each other.

  • @crusher1944 Sadly, how right you are. Hopefully, "our" guy's can stay around for at least another 20. As one can see, the greatest sound to one's ear only get's better.

  • Earth Angel, the best rhythm & Blues song ever made.

  • I remember dancing to this with my Johnny at the basement parties we use to have, this and "In the Still of The Night" are the two top hits of the era.......keep those oldies alive.......In Harmony, Doowoplvr

  • This was a great Doo Wop show, I have the video on this. Thanks for posting this it was GREAT!!!
