  • best inside game ever period

  • *MUSIC* and *MOTION*...Best *DR. J* tribute Vid EVER!!!!

    ‹(•¿•)› Job Well Done

  • his length made him looks so smooth

  • Who are the 2 jackass that disliked this video? Onlyl fools I can think of are Bill Walton & Kareem. lol

  • been a fan of DR J a long time.. I have seen all teh higlights of him. but this is the best whit most rare dunks.. thanx a lot man good mix

  • @Ismar25 ...I AGREE!

  • 1:12-1:14 WTF!!!

  • dr j is amazing!

  • Dr. J the master of the finger roll, and wizard of the post

  • Dr. J couldn't guard Marques Johnson.

  • 1:11 !!!!!!!

  • lmao :52 HE TIP DUNCKED ON HIS OWN MAN!

  • But Connie Hawkins inspired this due though....Connie hawkins would have been one of the best players ever if he would have

    played longer.....

  • Dr. J was incredible

  • Dr. J would in todays Girly game would dominate

  • nvm i remember the song in fight night round 3

  • the song sounds very familiar. was it in any games?

  • I love how he just picks up the dribble with one hand and goes up for a dunk while still using only one hand. Monster.

  • jordan before jordan

  • Funny, I've been saying that for years. I saw Dr. J at his peak when he played in the ABA. There is not too much footage of him from his time on the Squires or the Nets. Jordan was a better pure shooter and defender. But the moves and the inside game, Dr. J had more style and grace.

  • oh definitively, julius moved effortlessly and with such grace,

  • @4cups80s Julius Earving had good D though ......1.5 BPG Through his career...

  • Yes, the DR. did play good D. Was only commenting that Jordan was better defensively and was a better outside shooter. And you are right that Connie Hawkins did inspire Dr J. You must be a lil older then myself as I barely remember the Hawk, but have seen video of him and I can see how Dr. J. would remind people of him. They even had a similar type look and body type.

  • @4cups80s

Actually Im 19, but im a keen observer of the game and I Seen alot of documentaries on him and seen footage of him in the NBA and some from the ABA...His game, his style and his moves were unique and since then haven't seen someone with that style since then.....

  • @SkywarpMach7

    SkywarpMach7,

Your wisdom is beyond your years. I could not have expressed what Dr. J was like better than you did. His "style and moves were unique and since then haven't seen someone with that style since then..." Excellent Commentary.

    NDMIKE

  • I've heard Doc's best was in the ABA, but I saw him in the late 70's vs the Bulls and he didn't disappoint! The Bulls sucked @ that time so everyone there was there to see him. One sequence, Gilmore blocked his shot & Bulls went down and scored, Doc called for the rock went coast to coast and threw down hard in Gilmore's grill! all 4000 of us went nuts and my pops used to love to tell this story............

  • @4cups80s

i beg to disagree, Jordan has tons of arsenal acrobatic moves than Dr. J. The shooter Jordan probably you are talking is the MJ of 1995-98..

  • lDoctor J will always be the best. I put Bill Russell, Michael, Magic and Bird on the first team with him. The 83 Sixers were the best team ever, waltizing thru the playoffs against some very tough competition (Celtics, Milwaukee and Lakers). Fo, fo, fo!!!

  • Style and Grace!!!!! 1# for me

  • MY TOP 5

    1.michael jordan

    2..Dr.J

    3.scottie pippen

    4.karl malone

    5.kobe bryant

  • I think the move he made at 3:40 was even better move then the legendary '''The Move"" in the playoffs against the lakers!!! What do you think?

  • TI SEI DIMENTICATO MAGIC j.....

    1MJ23

    2MAGIC J

    3Dr J

    4SCOTTIE

    5/6 KOBE/KARL

    OK???

  • Comment removed

  • clearly ahead of his time

  • Even with Lebron, Wade, etc. I STILL miss Dr. J.

  • Right on!!!! The best Doc footage , cause you got all the nastiness he pulled on LA and Boston . It was like 1vs 5 againsrt the Lakers. How many times did he posterize Walton , Kareem and parrish. ??? THe KING!!!!!!!!!!

  • truly jordan copied julius erving spectacular moves

  • True, but Jordan did it and exceeded it for todays era. I have Erving #1, Jordan #2 and Magic #3, Karl Malone #4, and John Stockton #5, they all learned from one another and made the game at its all time peak in the Mid to late 1980s and early 1990s in time for the Dream Team to decimate every country on earth in the 1992 Olympics!

  • ok nvm yeah it's by atmosphere, song is Arrival by Atmosphere

  • what's the song?!! it sounds like atmosphere, but im not sure

  • lol imagine how many posters he had ll

  • My top 5

    1. Kevin Jhonson

    2. Dennis Rodman

    3. Scottie Pippin

    4. Wilikins

    5. Dr. J

    Thats just me

  • Dam I know realize that in terms of closeness to style that Dwayne Wade is the closest player since Jordan to play like Dr.J.Albeit he's 3 inches shorter and more stocky with better handles.

  • I can remember watching him on Sunday afternoons, then going outside trying to imitate whatever he did that game.

  • i tried to copy doc too... i now laugh at myself cuz not even jordan or kobe can imitate him

  • what's the name of the song???

  • WOW! they just let dr J have that reverse dunk at 2:28

  • The best thing about doc was that he didn't use to scream like a gorrila everytime he made a dunk or an amazing lay up, unlike the new stars like LEBRON,KOBE,PIERCE and many others. He played basketball for the sake of basketball not for the money.

  • The pass at 1:57......I'd never seen it. In the air....?? Probably nothing came from it but damn.

Doc was THE superstar....who DIDN'T he dunk on ?!?

  • im from philly and use to wathch doc on local tv, he did them passes all time and 90% of time led to assist. it was great to see my idol play

  • Yeah, he was my idol too. It was rough since I'm in Indy.....everyone here was huge Larry Bird fans. I hated the celtics since they were the 76ers rivals...I didn't appreciate Bird until his last couple of seasons. He and Doc had some great battles.

Dr. J will always be my favorite player ever though....I could watch his highlights all day.

  • The doctor has to be considered on of the top 5 players of all-time!!!

  • top 5 is nice but i put him at number 1

  • Agreed...for me personally....he is number 1 all-time. The visions of his floating through the lane.....are some of my best memories from the NBA. Some of his moves....were truly shocking. The dunk on Michael Cooper is the greatest dunk of all-time!

  • man his hands are so god damn big! It's like he's holding a softball.

  • If u r a fan of sports. I have tons of other sports vid. Come check them out, subscribe, talk with the channel etc. Love to have u all aboard.

  • @VeoShock ... I just shared this on *FB* and *TWITTER*...this is the Best (DR. J tribute) EVER!!!

  • the greatest IDOL of Michael Jordan

  • who has a alltime top 3 DOCTOR J favorite SHOT,DUNK and or MOVE.....ABA or NBA

  • Top 10 Small Forwards of All Time 1. Julius Dr. J Erving 2. Elgin Baylor 3. Larry Bird 4. Bob Petit 5. Rick Barry 6. John Havlicek 7. Charles Barkley 8. Bernard King 9. Billy Cunningham 10. James Worthy
  • You need to make room for King Jams on that list even wiht the new Handcheck rule and def 3sec....

  • Dr. Js imagination was off the charts. He would create moves at the most critical times of the game. His most creative moves were in the playoffs and the ABA and NBA finals. This video did a great job of capturing the Doctor. Dr. J was one of a kind!

  • at 1:16 he made a half windmill bank shot against bob mcadoo, in yo face .

  • at 1;20 he shook 3 defenders and glided from one side of the rim in midair to the other side and reversed layup, crazy!

  • at 1:40 that player clipped doc's legs from under him and he still made that layup, crazy body control

  • he wuz the best

  • whats the name of this song

  • Dr.J was the man back then

  • what's the song name svp? thanks

  • dude, Dr.J has got mad ups. If i was black, i'd grow a fro like him.heck, i'm white and i'll grow a fro like him. rock on dr.J,Rock on.....

  • to salesxgggggggggggg you're right

  • Incredible,before MJ,there was Dr.J

  • is it me or was the early nba ppl wer taller..

  • HA HA! No they were leaner and wore shorter shorts making em look taller. The avg height of players is taller now.

  • Hey Funksteady, I have to disagree. The list of Great and Good bigmen was much greater during Dr. Js era. Kareem 7'0", Artis Gilmore 7'2", Bob Lanier 6'11", Nate Thurmond 7'0", Mark Eaton 7'4" Ralph Sampson 7'5", Moses Malone 6'10" Robert Parish 7'1" Joe Barry Carrol 7'0 Bill Walton 6'11 Rick Burleson 7'5 Marvin Webster 7'0" Bob Mcadoo 6'11 Tree Rollins 7'0 Alvin Adams 6'11 Tom Boerwinckle 7'1 Heck the power forwards Bill Laimbeer 6'11 Kevin Mchale 6'11 Elvin Hayes 6'10 Kent Benson 6'11

  • and doc slamed on everyone of them centers, not all players can say that....

  • wat about,bellamy,kev willis,cris washburn,d cowens,grant,corzine,jim chones,mokeski,james edwards,mark west, m turpin,brad dougherty,hot rod williams,james donaldson,shayes,wayne cooper,herb williams,mike cage,bon. benjamin,swen nater,a lister,mike giminski,cartwright,kev duckworth,jack sikma,karl malone, and thats just average big men centers power forwards, whats there today to compare....

  • Righton Ruben2363,

You make a great point! There isn't one center in the league today except for Howard down in Orlando that can challenge players attacking the basket. What people don't remember was there was no flagrant foul in the Doctor's day. Those big men would knock you on your head if you dared come to the hoop. The Doctor did it anyway and dunked on all of them. Kobe and Vince never have had to deal with that type of defense going to the hoop. Players are protected today!

  • nd mike theres only handful that may challenge you on defense today...duncan,shaq,wallace,dalembert,brad miller,ming?......

  • Hey xHybridz, I have to disagree with funksteady in that the list of Great Tall Centers and Good Centers were much greater during Dr. Js career than are in the NBA today. Kareem Abdul Jabaar 7'0" Artis Gilmore 7'2 Bob Lanier 6'11, Robert Parish 7'1", Bob McAdoo 6'11, Marvin Webster 7'1", Moses Malone 6'10", Bill Walton 6'11", Mark Eaton 7'5", Dave Cowens 6'9", Alvin Adams 6'11", Dan Issel 6'11", Joe Barry Carrol 7'0", Rick Burleson 7'5", Ralph Sampson 7'5, Nate Thurmond 7'0, Darryl Dawkins 6'11

  • who said old school can not be compared with the new players. DR J proved it in his game amazing layups and dunks the dude is a legend

  • I prefer the old school style of play anyway compared to new. now it's more about money rather than putting on a show (i'm generalizing, but you know what i mean). but yeah, Julius revolutionized basketball forever. by the way, does anyone know the name of the song? thanks
