  • what is reprehensible is trying to use a tragedy to paint your opposition as blood thirsty monsters....it makes my stomach turn

  • Makes me sad...

  • I want to know if the blue or brown eyed "shooter" was taken to the loonie bin.

  • of course, fucking chris matthews is on here

  • "Pray for Obama! Psalm 109.8"

Replace "Obama" with "Bush" and in 2004 that statement would've gotten you a 1-way trip to Gitmo. Republicans say that criticizing the president is high treason when he's one of their own, but if the POTUS is a Democrat, it's okay to PRAY FOR HIS DEATH. That just shows you what kind of people they are.

  • i like maher's jokes but hold up here. i think he forgot about the left wing cuba, ussr north korea, vietnam, yugoslavia, eastern bloc nations. they killed people who disagree with them too.

  • You just can't trust videos from Reason.

I list a couple of the ways their video is misleading here:

    24ahead . com/n/10318

I've been catching their contributors lying, misleading, and being intellectually dishonest for years; see their name's link at the page above.

  • The left sells T-Shirts at a massacre memorial. How sick is that. Just another campaign stop for Lord Imam Obama.

  • This Kid is a LIAR.. It was reported by CNN through his SISTER that he LOVED Glen Beck and listened to him daily. ALSO it stated in his DIARY that Rush Limbaugh was his GOD and he wanted to do whatever it took to make him proud and have a white republican nation. PLEASE report the truth.

  • Palin we know:

    - strongly supports the NRA and the gun industry

    - openly promotes a gun-toting culture

    - talks up military aggression stances in US foreign policy

    - uses incendiary rhetoric in public speeches sprinkled with gun violence

    metaphors (“don’t retreat, reload")

    - uses gun imagery to target political opponents (cross-hairs)

This behavior resonates with the psycho/sociopathic drivers behind the Tucson incident, no question. To absolve Palin of culpability is a whitewash!

  • @waywardtycoon "To absolve Palin of culpability is a whitewash!" I was just wondering, does this mean sexist rhetoric about women's body parts sells more fruit and carpenter tools?

Those examples you mention are also used by 90% of the people in the US and 99% of the people on YV, so to place the majority of this on Palin (or Beck, or Olbermann, or Mathews, or Obama, or Pelosi, or Thomas Jefferson, or Andrew jackson) is simply stupid and small minded.

  • I love this.

  • Main stream news media has zero credibility.

  • "Let's use this occassion to expand our moral imaginations."

Man, there are days when Obama says the kind of bizarre senseless shit I would expect to hear from Chris Chan.

  • @FiveofHearts1 who the f--k is chris chan?

  • @waywardtycoon Chris Chan is a Youtube attention-whore. You can run "Chris Chan" in Youtube's search, and you'll find him. He's known for making videos you can't unsee.

  • Well at least their pathetic attempts to explain why people are violent have moved into new territory. I'm surprised they didn't try and blame rock music and video games at least a little bit.

  • Yep, MSNBC, CNN, HLN....all off my list of watching. I will only watch Fox now. I am so surprised at how they rail on Beck. I highly doubt any of them even understand what Beck is talking about. Beck has done more informative work on our history then any cable news show and he even tells you not to take his word for it. He dares people to prove him wrong. I dont see Matthews, Maddow, Blitzer, or Kugman trying to debunk anything he says. They just like to do the liberal smear game

  • This is why I dont watch the mainstream media anymore, too many idiots allowed to be on TV.

  • Wacth Rosalinda Peterson, the chemtail coverup. You and your children are being sprayed daily, just look up. While you argue about the fake paradigmn demo vs repbulican, your being sprayed in your fake democracy, and oh yeah, your gonna work harder for less too.

  • The guy got his ideas about gold and money from a video called Zeitgeist. For those of you unfamiliar with Zeitgeist it also calls for the abolition of property and private banks. they think that there is aworld-wide capitalist conspiracy. The guys who put it together weren't fans of Ron Paul; they were socialists. Just go to YouTube and search for Zeitgeist. I am an advocate for the return of commodity money like gold and silver too, but I argue with these loons all the time.

  • Fidel Castro liked guns and hated the government of Cuba. Riddle that one. What a right winger that Castro is.

  • I like the point Limbaugh made the other week how "they define hate speech as any speech that disagrees with them".

  • @10072018 and conservatives define being anti-American as disagreeing with them

  • @roguetrip99 no I think is anti-American is defined with disagreeing with our country and it's Constitution, Rights (as they are really meant to be), and our sovereignty...and the foreign anti-American tyrant choice you made as our "president"....

  • Best friend? Loners have "best friends"?

  • so we shouldn't speak our mind for fear that some loon might take it the wrong way and shoot some people? absolute insanity.

  • Libbie Looney Leftist Liars.

  • Some kid on a talk show knows nothing about it. HE WAS A RIGHT WING NUT JOB. It is well know fact. Jared was on PALIN's facebook fried list for god sake. In his Diary he stated how much he love PALIN' and that he would do anything for her.... You guys need to get your facts straight before reporting PLEASE??

  • @rockdiamond Right and he just so happens to have the Communist Manifesto on his reading list. Take your politics and shove it up your ass and this comes from a guy who hates the right as much as the left. Its one big disease keeping people enslaved.

    /watch?v=Tq3e3wT0PGU

  • @rockdiamond You are an absolute fucking idiot. You leftist punks have been thoroughly humiliated for using this shooting as political gain. The entire nation is LAUGHING at you. They have seen what you truly are, and you have been utterly disgraced and smacked down. There is no arguing it. You LOSE.

  • @rockdiamond Completely false and entirely made up.

  • @rockdiamond Too bad butthead. By now everyone knows that Loughner was NOT right wing. You're just showing everyone what a Lieing lefty libtard you are.

  • Good thing ReasonTV compiles this kind of stuff, I stopped watching the news years ago but it's still fun to marvel at their stupidity.

  • i like how people in cable news don't even bother to use the word "in my opinion" anymore because it's already such a default position. "he IS responsible" "he CAUSED it" everything is stated as a fact.. hilariously pathetic

  • @spanky061970 "The moral imagination is an enduring source of inspiration that elevates us to first principles as it guides us upwards towards virtue and wisdom and redemption." -- Russell Kirk

  • @spanky061970 "The moral imagination is an enduring source of inspiration that elevates us to first principles as it guides us upwards towards virtue and wisdom and redemption." -- Russell Kirk

  • What an All-Star line up a pure failure. It's like watching a bunch of hungry jackels looking for scraps.

  • Kieth Olvermann is such a disgusting peice of shit. >:(

  • @averagejoe040 Well, Theres a big part of the problem. If you paint your opponents position as the extreme edge of consequence, then theres no room for cooperation. If I painted all right wingers as "Authoritarian fascists who worship at the alter of Ragen and want to bring back 1870's style capitalism," it would be equally silly and unfair. Turn off the Glenn Beck for a few days.

Also, when republican readers do the bible thing on the floor to reject science , do you object? if not why?

  • @seeingglass86 Just so you know, the more accurate term for this 1870s is Mercantilism as Lincoln was a Merchantlist. Austrians Economists cover this topic extensively going back to Hamilton and his love of the public debt.

  • @seeingglass86 You'd be better off just telling us what it is you believe. Analyzing others doesn't seem to be your forte. I'm not a Glen Beck fan. I have watched him a few times, but the religiosity and the conspiracy fixation just don't excite me. Also, there's no need to paint opponents as the "extreme edge of consequence". Libs do that themselves.

I didn't know Republican leaders did "a bible thing on the floor to reject science"??

I do like Reagan and I like free market capitalism.

  • This is the only time I have ever agreed with Obama. Something tells me that it was just rhetoric and Obama secretly points the finger at the wrong people just like the rest of the media clowns. He's pointed his finger at us before.

But I will give him the benefit of the doubt this time.

  • sine lougner is technically a jew lets blame jews btw most jews be moonbats

  • With Reason's videos, the question isn't *if* they're misleading. The question is, can you name *all* the ways the video is trying to mislead?

I list a couple of the ways their video is misleading here:

    24ahead . com/n/10318

If you trust anything Reason tells you, check it out. And, see their name's link in that post for many other posts showing how they're wrong going back several years.

  • now i dont believe we need to blame racist bill orielly,

glen beck, and rush. But if there was someone to blame

for this that would be palin.Just because of those crosshairs.

Now the left did it has well. But as giffords said in a video

that was on msnbc before this happen. If someone was to get hurt

or something was to happen remember you will be blamed for it.

    Dont be suprised!

  • The entire script looks like more sacrafices like they did to the Europeans to push a further cause.

The second half of the second ammendment means every law passed regarding nthe restrictions of gun (arms) ownership is the illegal factor here. Not one of those laws should be on the books and enforced. I see no exception nor exemption in the second ammendment.

For those that use *term* plus "tard" or the misspelled "turd" as one in here has, are just reflecting themselves for all to see.

  • What the hell does he mean "expand our moral imaginations"? Is he making up stuff again?

  • @spanky061970 His speech writers make up Junk.

Tell the people what they want to hear, so the Bum will get re-elected.

  • total libturd luncacy. they really showed what they are after the shootings. scum of the earth.

  • The problem LIBERALS have today is they do not control the media and they do not control the radio. They can't spew their lunatic lies anymore and have everyone agree, and it is eating them alive. Why else is Al Sharpton calling for the Fairness Doctrine? Because without the ability to spread their anti-American agenda, they are TOAST.

  • those tea party members, saying that they were not complicit in a mass murder, HOW REPREHENSIBLE!

Good fuck, Ed Schultz is a retard.

Oh, and Clarence Dupnik should absolutely resign. He has undermined the objectivity of the Pima County Sherrif's department.

  • @migkillertwo Dupnik will be announcing his "retirement" soon is my prediction. Especially since evidence is mounting that HIS department dropped the ball on this maniac.

  • The sad thing is that I used to watch MSNBC and it was a pretty good news outlet about ten years ago. Then Bush Derangement Syndrome hit

  • I laugh at the idiot pundits who blame this violence on being against the State when the State in and of itself IS institutionalized violence!

  • Never saw so many idiots eager to defend the government. They don't like the American society, no - but they loooove that big, big government that sucks the life out of the free market.

  • During the last administration a book was written and a movie made about the assassination of President Bush but we were told not to over react because it was just those on the left expressing artistic licence .

  • @hanksnow82 and which sitting Republican congress person was shot in the head at point blank range? I am NOT saying the tone did this, I'm saying "Cooler heads prevail, let's all tone it down". Do you agree with this?

  • @Bolgernow Nope! That shooting had nothing to do with rhetoric. The only voices directing Loughner were the voices in his head. I go after leftists full-bore everyday and will continue to do so.

  • @joepeeler34 hey fuckstick? Can you read. I posted, "I am NOT saying the tone did this". Sarah Palin awaits your vote. Water seeks it's own level...

  • @Bolgernow You're not saying that minimal state advocates were responsible for Loughner's killing spree--you're just insinuating it. I won't be voting for Palin because I disagree with her on many social issues but especially foreign policy. I said nothing that should have led a person with reading conmprehension skills to believe that I supported her for office. I just don't like it when people assign motives for things when there isn't one shred of evidence to back it up.

  • @joepeeler34 "Schiff Report", Patriot Networks, EYWTWTB, etc. They all lean far right & you subscribe to ALL OF THEM. No I did not. You clearly can't read words. Your views are those of the Tea Party/FOX News/Ayn Rand. The Tea Party strongly supports Palin. Trying to make your claim is akin to saying, "I live on earth, but have no interest in gravity. I don't like it". You do not agree we could ALL take this chance to "tone things down with the hate & violent speech". That's hateful & sad

  • As noted by the NRA & associated gun rights groups; In the wake of AZ tragedy, the anti-gun zealots / opportunists in Congress are pushing new legislation infringing on both the 1st & 2nd amendment. Gun owners need to contact their Senators and Representatives - tell them to oppose any and all infringements on our rights.

  • What a bunch of fuck-tards.

  • My reaction from that day right up to now has been "Wow, that's too bad." Does that make me selfish, or just healthy?

  • So just how did Loughner just happen to hit the judge too? The same judge who ruled against Obama just days earlier on his request to take the retirement savings of all Americans by his decree. Oh, and judge Roll also ruled against Obama on the Brady bill. How "convenient" that Jared just happened to hit him too, eh?

  • the amount of hate being tossed around in the comments is far more worrisome than that of a lone gunmen. WTF is wrong with you people? the irony found in the comments and massive hypocrisy in the masses and their political ideals is worse than the event in question. i guess this is what you get when the masses are educated by politicians and their pundits on either side of the beast.

  • GOVERNMENT=VIOLENCE

  • @hrosemd that might be the most sane comment of the 523 prior

  • Moral equivalency seems to be the common cop-out for redneck mentalities. If you

find Palin’s constant in-your-face guns violence rhetoric offensive, then you must be offended by anything involving guns. If you object to her targeting this incendiary talk at specific political opponents, then you are objecting to the 2nd ammendment. This simple-minded rationalization pervades all their arguments, and stultifies reasoned debate.

  • He read THE COMMIE MANIFESTO AND MEIN KAMPF=LEFT WINGER that is NUTS.

  • @TheWWWJTFORG

re: "He read THE COMMIE MANIFESTO AND MEIN KAMPF=LEFT WINGER that is NUTS"

Yeah sure! .. he likely got no further than the 1st page, and even then didn't understand it. And with nonsense

like this, it's clear you don't understand this stuff either. You couldn't explain just how reading this stuff makes one a "left-winger" if your life depended on it. lol!.

  • @townsendjean

The guy was a left wing pot head and after supporting Giffords, broke with here for failing to vote with Pelosi. He wrote, 'You are now dead to me.' I guess he meant it literally.

  • "Stupid" in the video title does not mean that it was. Nor does the music in the background prove anything.

Most of the people in the video have predicted for years that this type of even might happen if the right does not tone down the gun and violence rhetoric, including Giffords her self.

The reaction after the shooting is predictable. The Right set the stage, and the left jumped on it.

Nothing stupid about the comments on the video.

  • LOL! You look at how the tea party whackos in Tucson were dwindling in numbers and ratcheting up the hate speech, it was just a roll of the dice you'd get a nut with a 33 round Glock in the same place.

Beck is a scumbag, DIRECTLY responsible for the shootout near the Tides foundation. Why the hell do you call yourselves libertarians, you're just right wing nuts.

  • @robertmike57 you do know that libertarians do not advocate violence, as that would violate another’s natural rights, and natural rights are what libertarians stand for. both the dems and reps want to take away one right or another, progressives want to take away just about every right, and that is why to these left wingers libertarians seem right winged, because they oppose being more enslaved more than being less enslaved though both choices are disagreeable

  • @surrealnumber I love how right wing scumbags ignore mentioning Bryon Williams. This has been building for a long time, and Republicans are to blame. The Tucson Tea Party had LOTS of violence spewing nuts, yet Giffords won the election.

Hell, Republicans were waving around extremist posters since April, 2009 tea parties. Obama was operating under a Bush budget at that point, been in office 3 months. Palin's sociopathic speech is an admission of guilt.

  • @robertmike57 Beck may or may not be a scumbag, but your comments leave no doubt you ARE a moron.

  • Olbermann's sound byte was demonstrative of class ignorance of "Money"...

  • Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" in action....

  • ANYBODY IS TO BLAME THAT DOESN’T GET DOWN TO THE FACTS AND LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES. ANYBODY PARTICIPATING IS MORE CONCERNED WITH HIDING THAN PROMOTING THE FACTS, THE PSYCHOLOGICAL EQUIVALENT OF DENIAL WHICH BREEDS VIOLENCE, ADDICTIONS AND, IN THE END, WARFARE, SHOOTING RAMPAGES, AND TERRORISM. SEE MY VIDS FOR FUNNY LOOK AT ROOTS OF VIOLENCE: “RUSH LIMBAUGH’S DOLLY…” AND “RUSH LIMBAUGH AT THE PLAYGROUND”. I AM A BASW.

  • @wedgewood578 Do you have any funny videos about the roots of caps lock abuse?

  • Oy...

  • Chris Matthews is a National Treasure.

  • Chris Matthews is the biggest jughead that there is. not to mention Ed Schultz.

  • palin is a compulsive, repetitive, demonstrable liar! Take your pick: -bridge to nowhere -death panels -senior official firings -climate change statements -Alaska’s oil production -habeas corpus -gay rights -trade missions to Russia -husband’s secession sentiments Is there anything she hasn’t lied about?

  • Palin we know:

    - strongly supports the NRA and the gun industry

    - openly promotes a gun-toting culture

    - talks up military aggression stances in US foreign policy

    - uses incendiary rhetoric in public speeches sprinkled with gun violence

    metaphors (“don’t retreat, reload")

    - uses gun imagery to target political opponents (cross-hairs)

This behavior resonates with the psycho/sociopathic drivers behind the Tucson incident, no question. To absolve Palin of culpability is a whitewash!

  • @townsendjean so do you then condemn every movie, video game or song with violence in it?

  • @dirksilver

    what a stupid silly question!!!

  • @townsendjean so then you're saying that they all had effects on him and what he did? if not then it's a white wash!!!! hahaha

    pot...meet kettle

  • @dirksilver I don't need or want you to tell me what I'm saying! Mind your own business.

  • @townsendjean Uh oh… you're starting to sound just like Loughner with that whole “grammar mind control delusion”.

  • @townsendjean Do we know if Palin....

    -supports marijuana legalizatrion

    - reads the communist manifesto

    - believes 9/11 was an inside job

    - hates George Bush

Odd, because that's what this psychopath believed. If he hadn't killed six people and wounded 14 , there'd be a job waiting for him on MSNBC, or the Daily Kos, or an afternoon drive slot on AirAmerica.

You are a culpable for being a moron.

  • @townsendjean What about the Blue-Dog Democrats who are supported by the NRA? Are they promoting a “violent gun-culture” too? Yep, those pesky 2nd amendment rights apply to ALL Americans –wow imagine that! Your talking points are regurgitated Chris Matthews excrement lol. Perhaps we should blame Al Gore for the actions of James Lee (militant environmentalist) who hijacked the Discovery Channel last September.

  • @Everett07630 Ugh, huh. They also conveniently forget the NRA endorsed the re-election of Harrry Reid as well.Doesn't get more liberal than Reid. Of course to acknowledge that "blows a hole in their argument" (pun intended).

So using their logic, we should ban Jodie Foster, J.D Salinger and Beatles music. All supposedly used as "triggers" for psychopaths attempted or committing murder.

  • @Everett07630 troll harder!

  • @townsendjean Ugh she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere, that was Ted Stevens' pet project. The death panels were added in again, then dropped last week when word got out. Yeah, those climategate emails certainly proved her wrong, didn't they? We could use more Alaskan oil production, given that Obama's energy policies are causing gas to rise towards $4/gallon again.

She used crosshairs ? So what, your union pals did the same thing to Wal-Mart in a flyer. TODAY!

  • MSNBC is just awful...

  • Obama . . . . Matthew 7:5

  • Bill Maher is everything that's wrong with the Left.

  • @thomaserossi

So whom depicts everything that is wrong with the Right?

  • Comment removed

  • In defense of Limbaugh, Laughner could be smiling in that mugshot because of the left's obvious interference, but I'll just chalk it up to the kid's demented psycho mind.

  • This is how it works. Before all the names of the dead are known, there left wing lies about any involvement of conservatives starts... and continues. When they get their asses handed to them, they don't apologize... they call for "calmness on BOTH SIDES". What EGOS. Like when 700 rockets are shot at Israel, the minute they FINALLY retaliate, the Left calls for a "stopping the CYCLE OF VIOLENCE". Is trying to push a rapist off you... and "cycle of violence"? The Left are emotionally immature.

  • GOD, idiots these days. These pundits think they represent us, the people. Fat chance! We don't take your shit!

  • What's a "moral imagination"?

  • @mangoswiss its what statists use to turn a bad thing (shooting) into a good thing for them (more power)

  • @mangoswiss Good point. Sounds like something Loughner would have said.

  • @luanluan2006 1) Fox didn't make stupid comments like those in the video, and those in the video are barely the tip of the iceberg. 2) This wasn't just MSNBC. Did you even watch the video?

  • @canofsand Yes i did, and yes Fox did. Both sides made completely asinine comments, it's unfair to show just one.

  • @luanluan2006 You say you watched the video, yet you say it was just MSNBC in the video. So... are you blind, lying, self-deluding, or simply pushing an agenda without care for *relevant* facts? Those are the only choices as MSNBC was not the only entity saying stupid crap that was included in the video and news orgs aren't the only relevant entities. Second, what, exactly, are some of these "asinine comments" made by Fox News employees/personalities that are *relevant* to this video?

  • @canofsand "Are you blind, lying, self deluded..." Blah blah blah blah blah.

I gave the video another watch and yes I admit, I made a mistake. I was simply using MSNBC as a general term not as one individual entity. I made the mistake of not making it clear that I noticed the comments seemed more selective. Come up with creative insults, or at least attempt to be civil enough not to use anonymity of the internet to insult someone.

  • @luanluan2006 Why are you ignoring point #2 from my last comment? Could it be because you've got nothing to back up your claims and would prefer to just push out your FNC-hatred unchallenged as is the norm on the blogs and "news" sites you frequent?

  • @canofsand Entertaining the notion that the shooter MUST have been a liberal, claiming that mainstream liberals (at times all liberals)blamed Palin for the shooting (they were concerned with her rhetoric), calling the memorial service a "pep-rally". The comments stretch to people like Rush ,saying Dems wanted it to happen. I don't frequent FNC- hatting sites, stop assuming things. I dislike both MSNBC & FN because they are biased and give half truth in favor of their own opinions.

  • @luanluan2006 1) You cited nothing, perhaps to help you mischaracterize their statements as I believe you did. 2) Some of the things you mentioned are totally acceptable things to say. 3) Many of those things are utterly irrelevant to this video.

  • @luanluan2006 Did you not watch the "memorial service"? What did it look to you, a wake or a rally to see what seed the Wildcats got in the NCAA tournament? Honestly.

Maybe you missed the interview with some of the few friends this loser had. They referred to him as a liberal, not Fox news. How is reporting what his friends said biased?

  • @dalmatian847 If it was a wake or a rally, who are we (people who don't LIVE in AZ) to dictate how people mourn. Some people cry (people were crying there) and others cheered to show support. When I die, I don't want people cray every day, I wan't smiles and laughter, but if they choose to cry, so be it, let them mourn as they please. I did't miss the interviews, by other accounts he had no friends and was a loner. IMO he was neither lib or cons. His politics were all over and he was unhinged.

  • @luanluan2006 Nice of you to change the subject. Your non answer speaks volumes. What did it look like to you? A wake or a pep rally? If you are going to call Fox out for stating the obvious, you should at least have the decency to admit it yourself. Most memorials that I have been to don't have pre-printed T-shirts and concessions like it's Spring Break..

Well thank you for your honesty and candor. I agree. He had no political agenda, that was my whole point. One opposite those in this clip.

  • @luanluan2006 Do you not understand the point of this video? It's pointing out the scumbaggery/stupidity of those blaming the shooting on conservatives. Their behavior is utterly unacceptable and FNC DID NOT JOIN IN so there's nothing to show there. Additionally, FNC's reaction was NOT AT ALL some "equal but opposite" EQUIVALENT to the Left's, so you don't even have THAT to fall back on when you criticize the video. Even if you DID have that, that doesn't make the what the MSM did any better.

  • @canofsand I'm not saying to was any better or worse, I'm saying it was selective. Blaming any particular news station, person, or political group is by all means deplorable. I knew right away the Tea Party would be the first to be blamed, and it wasn't fair at all.

  • @luanluan2006 What is "selective" about not showing FNC clips relevant to the video when those clips don't exist?

  • @luanluan2006 Well then we share common ground on that. The Tea Party and Palin were instantly targetted and depite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, none of these "media outlets" have iissued retractions.

  • @dalmatian847 The point I tried to make earlier is that both sides made bad statements too soon before all the details got out, & ended up making extreme claims all for a good news story. Everyone short of the Grinch was blamed.

As far as the service goes, I thought I had clarified ( I see now I didn't) that FN implied (heavily) it shouldn't have been cheery. I admit it was cheery, but I also think hat it was good. People shouldn't really judge how people mourn unless it's self destructive.

  • @luanluan2006 And I take issue with that point. Only one side decided not to wait to facts and try to turn this into political gain. .

Cheery? You mean like a pep rally? I think Obama could have asked that applause should be withheld as this is a somber moment. He didn't. Do you think the victim's families that were in attendance were cheery? How about respect for the family members they were stil mourning? They in the end were the ultimate victims of this scumbag.

  • @dalmatian847 As far as retractions go, I only remember Shultz, Keith and I believe Maddow, saying not to blame Palin for this psycho , but rather her use of rhetoric. I can't really say for the other ideologues.

  • @luanluan2006 How is that a retraction? We can't blame Palin for this psycho...but we can blame the use of rhetoric.

Rhetoric played NO PART in what this scumbag did. That's the whole point.

  • @dalmatian847 They weren't saying that she was to blame, rhetoric or not. No sane person is saying that. They said that it's helping play into the atmosphere. The shooting acted as this wake up call to ALL the rhetoric. It's not a hard to grasp.

For the service, if the victims families don't complain, there is no issue. They haven't. They seem to have found it supportive. That's the point, everyone else is outside looking in at Arizona. Let them cheer in support if they want.

  • @luanluan2006 O.K just so i understand, you acknowledge rhetoric played no part in this. The guy clearly was not political, so exactly what "atmosphere" did it play into? The atmosphere of Paul Krugman claiming otherwise? The atmosphere of the one guy who was shot shouting "you're dead" during a speech by a tea party leader?

Have you ever lost a close family member? You are too numb to complain unless it's over the top. You are going to complain about the POTUS, I doubt it?

  • @dalmatian847 I do think he was political, but he was a different breed of political, a conspiracy theorist who was unhinged. Rhetoric is building, but that man unmoved my rhetoric, he didn't care. The one guy who shouted "you're dead" had been shot by the gunman. He was admitted for evaluation afterwards, rightfully so. Alan Grayson doesn't speak for anyone, certainly not for me. Yes I have lost family, in a genocide. You're either numb, take a call to arms, grieve, or become an activist.

  • @luanluan2006 So, to repeat. You acknowledge that political rhethoric played no role in this psychopath's motive. So then why tone down something that was irrelevant to this tragedy but is the base of the first amendment? Grayson might not speak for you, but he did and still does speak for the Far Left of the Democrat Party. No denouncements from party leadership speaks volumes on how serious Obama took his own speech. Then Rep Steve Cohen (D-Tn) compared the GOP to Nazis the same day. Lovely.

  • @dalmatian847 Just because it played no part in the shooting, doesn't mean it shouldn't be toned down, first amendment or not, it doesn't make it right. Dems and Repubs compare each other to Nazi's all the time. Is it right?- No, but it's been happening for years with little to no denouncements on either side.

  • @luanluan2006 Actually, I you're aware of the history of this country, you'd realize the first amendemnt was put in place for political speech. Rhetoric, sometimes heated has always been part of the country's political process. To use a tragedy like this to shut up your political opponents is the ultimate in cynicism.

Actually you are incorrect. DEMS use the term NAZi exclusively to slander their opponents and to make cheap political points. When you accept that, then you've made progress.

  • @dalmatian847 Theres a difference between the voice of opposition and heated rhetoric. It's called heated for a reason.

Ah perhaps you're right, I must have gotten something in my eye when I thought I saw those Obama as Hitler posters.

  • @luanluan2006 Yeah, you must have had no eyes at all when there were Bush as Hitler posters at a rate several thousand times more abundant than Obama. Selective much?

  • @itachi705 I saw that also, I find that deplorable. But "they did it to" is a child's argument

  • @luanluan2006 No, when someone says that "Only you do this" saying that they do it too directly contradicts their argument and, if true (as it is in this case) destroys their credibility exposing them as hypocrites.

  • @itachi705 @dalmatian847 People also missed the presidential election where the canidates tossed comments like "the streets will run red with blood" and "you children with die". However, I suppose that missing these comments was understandable as they were said 200 years ago.

Really, if you think putting a Charlie Chaplain moustache on a photo is bad, you are really in need of some history.

Reason TV has a video you shoud see.

  • @bsabruzzo I agree with you. I never said I blamed anyone other than the shooter.

  • @luanluan2006 ". No sane person is saying that." Glad you acknowledge the insanity of Alan Grayson. January 19, 2011 " Former Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) blamed Sarah Palin for the Arizona shooting that severely injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) in an email Wednesday.Rep. Grayson, who was one of the more fiery House Democrats until he lost reelection in 2010, said in an email to supporters today that former Governor Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) had provoked the shooting ". So much for civility.

  • @luanluan2006 Fox made asinine comments linking Loughner to the tea party? Where would those clips be? Fox was the only network not jumping to conclusions and ...are you ready, brace yourself actually was REPORTING facts as they came in rather than speculating on motives and having egg all over their face when their theories proved to be false.

  • @luanluan2006 - Stick to the prewritten script without any evidence to support the contrary. Then come here and accuse others of being biased.

How deliciously indoctrianted of you. -_-

  • @savytek What was it that former Obama COS Rahmbo Emanuel said? "Never let a good crisis go to waste" They overplayed their hand badly this time. People just aren't buying it anymore.

  • Good job ReasonTV!

  • Reason.tv is being stupid here.

  • What the fuck is Bill Maher talking about!?!?!?!!!??!?!

  • @Vexed34 "Second Amendment remedies." "It's not a time to retreat. It's a time to reload."

  • @baikinmon "They bring a knife you bring a gun." "We're gonna punish our enemies and reward our friends."

  • Yet another reason i dont watch MSM media anymore

  • If anything, the commentary on the Gifford shooting is a good litmus test of a commentators salt... If they fail to dissociate from partisan pot-shots and identify the lunacy of the shooter as the cause, they're prolly piping you a pile of self-serving shit any other time... especially if you agree with it at first glance...

  • Incredible assholes!

  • I am amazed that not a single person took me up on the challenge of answering the following question:

Can the GOP make their political point without resorting to references to guns, violence, and fear?

    If not, why not?

Everyone saw the question as an attack on the right and got defense rather than even try to answer that simple question.

    Very telling in my opinion.

    I'm done... It's been fun.

  • @henleythecat The answer is "Yes, but why bother." You might as well ask the same of the Democrats and every other major-to-somewhat-major political party in the world. What's "telling" is how fixated you are on such an inane question.

  • Glen Beck is an Agent Provocateur! So is Alex Jones, Jessee Ventura, and Ron Paul. All Masonic NWO disinfo agents....it's their JOB.
