I visited Seattle for my senior trip back in June. not a day goes by that I don't think about my trip to this city. Friendly people, breathtaking views, and so much to do.
After I graduate from college, I'm only planning on one thing, getting out of Dallas and moving to Seattle!!!!
Fish Market is great... I foudn some great stuff there. I became a fan of Mt Rainer cherries, and some other stuff. I believe that's where I found some Pacific Rim ceramic houses, and Clay Art Masks...
Seattle is a great place for conservative Whites to live. If you are White and not a Commie or Fag come on up and help send these third World invaders back to where they came from.
While I agree with most of the song's sentiments, I have to disagree about the whole blue skies thing. The "blue skies" are only visible for five days in the summer (after July 4)
@PinkRadioHead on those days in the fall when there's not a cloud in the sky and mount rainier stands out in stark relief on the horizon, they are the bluest skies you've ever seen :)

It's sunny here today. Feb 2, 2011, while much of the rest of the country is besieged by a major blizzard. I love this place. I was born here, and I remember really believing that the part about "like a beautiful child, growing up free and wild, full of hopes and full of fears, full of laughter full of tears, full of dreams to last the years" was about me!! It was a fun aspiration for a 4-year-old! :)
@mrtrinky666 because you could be in Sandpoint ID, Eureka MT, Fossil OR, Monticello UT, Silverton, CO, or any of the wonderful places on earth that aren't densely packed greenies without any sense.
"The bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle" refers to those sunny days either during the summer or some other time of the year when the sky is clear and sunny. Those days are really blue and beautiful. I love Seattle. :D
Crackinjacks138 i know right i live there for a long time and it rained half of the year and the other half it was colder than shit now i live in texas thats where the skys are blue

@ssvdr007 Hi! Seattle is pretty safe -- but not very affordable -- clean, with temperate climate - has pretty good public transit - a car is not essential. People from Philly / PA in general seem to like it here. There are lots of options for outdoor activities, and beautiful wild country nearby. @Joel_Seattle
Wonderful production! I am lucky enough to live near Seattle, and our area is portrayed exactly. I agree that *Seattle* should be our official theme song. For those interested, here is the *OFFICIAL* anthem: Seattle City Song Words by: Arthur O. Dillon Music by: Glenn W. Ashley Seattle sits on seven hills, Her glory is unfurled, At her feet is Puget Sound, Where moves The Commerce of the world. (No room for rest of lyrics, sorry)
I grew up listening to perry como on the parents hi-fi, this song just stuck in my mind, and now 40-odd years later it brings back so many memories of mum and dad and every saturday night just playing records.
I've gotta admit...Seattle is one of the few cities I'd actually uproot and move to. It just seems like such a clean and fresh city...now if they could only get an NHL team....
I grew up with my parents listening to Perry Como and the like, and listening to this and the Connie Smith version bring back many memories, many good and some not so good, but that's life
Thanks for the great video! Perry Como has one of the best voices and singing styles ever. Great song- I do live in the Seattle area. The 'bluest skies you ever seen" are not in Seattle but... Seattle is a great city with great people! Ron
Perry Como's verson of Seattle is being played at the Sounders games now. Those under 50 haven't heard it before and think it's new. I love this city. If you can put politics aside, Seattle is the best kept secret in America, especially in the summer!
This song is a classic, and Como's singing of it is the only way it should be listened to. I hated Bobby Sherman's version of it, if, for no other reason, my girl cousin had a huge crush on him growing up, and I heard her play his lousy voice singing this song at least 100 times when I spent a weekend with my aunt and uncle.
Just like a lib... full of hate, anger, vitriol... All the while claiming superior morals, character, ideals, and politics.
Let's just say that once you get to the Asahel Curtis exit on I-90, you can feel the misery lifting. At Hyak, it mostly goes away. Go far enough to reach Idaho and you're actually FREE AGAIN. Like escaping East Berlin before Reagan, the all controlling twits are left behind...
no, I don't think it is. Nobody cares anymore anyway. Seattle's just a cesspool of radical liberalism and is rotten to the core. Can't stand being there, and escape is the first thing on my mind when I have to be.
Seattle doesn't have an official "theme song," but Perry Como's version of "Seattle" is as close as any song to being the theme song. It's being played at the Seattle Sounder FC soccer games now.
@finteshes the only issue is its never sunny in Seattle 2/3 of the year... I live there... It should be more like 'The grey-est skies youve ever seen are in Seattle'
It doesn't happen a lot, but when you get a day like today, 70 degrees, clear deep blue sky, sun reflecting off the even deeper blue of the sound, white sails against dark green wooded shorelines, with the snowcapped Olympics in the background, it is nothing short of spectacular.
Yeah, like the back of my hand, it's very different, compared to like Chicago or New York. However, I'm growing tired of it, I might move to Tokyo next year for school.
@orosco83 More than just a few places in Seattle that I like. And yes I have visited Pikes Place. Oh dang, I cant' think of the name of the grape? that I feel in love with there..ah its the name of a mountain.. oh maybe Mount Rainer Cherries.........{From Nebraska}
This makes me homesick. Having lived 42 years in the "Puget Sound Convergence Zone" on the west slope of the Cascades before I ended up in this forsaken desert, I miss the rain, trees, mountains and being able to go sledding on the 4th of July at the Big Four Ice Caves. Obviously Perry Como was in Seattle during the two weeks of summer in August. When this song came out in 1969, it was a terrible time in Seattle when Boeing fell on it's butt and everybody was leaving town.
August 1969 was also a lousy month for the Pilots, but not as bad as March 1970. That's when they became the Milwaukee Brewers. I've visited Seattle four times and I have great memories from each trip. On a clear day, the views of Mt. Rainier from downtown defy description - and yes, the skies were as blue as zirconia.
