  • whats the 1st music name ? PLS

  • @zsolt0116 It's a song from a band that @kin3tics and i are/were in a few years back. The band was called thyselfdestruction, but we haven't really played or recorded much since we all started having kids :-) The song is called "You've Been Warned", and it is an instrumental that leads into the 2nd song on the album called "By The Hour", which you can kindof hear the intro to under the first section of dialog.

  • I just got some of these for my kids, so obviously I have to learn :-)

Thanks for the video, but i have to say I'm struggling with, ermm, everything.

  • Well, it's been a while since I've commented here, or posted a video.

Life's been busy. Rebuilt a car, had a couple kids, all sorts of stuff.

As far as the question about 1:05, yes, I'm just catching the end balls. It's a basic juggle.

As for the comments about the difficulty of the tricks on the video, the tricks thselvea were never meant to be the basics, rather, examples of how to implement the most basic techniques (string, rebound, juggle) into a few tricks.

    Keep practicing however you

  • im alright at astro jax. thing is i keep on hitting myself with them and keep getting into a knot

  • I give up... :P

  • tht was awsum!

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

  • Looks pretty easy. Just juggling is not enough enymore :P

  • The feel for this is a lot like 5A yoyoing.

  • Okay, if these are "basics" then I quit.

  • @soupofkings, I know exactly what you mean, I suck at this!

  • It's like 5a yoyoing.

  • Where can i find a store that ships to singapore at a low shipping price?

  • chicago childrens museum gift store

  • that would look cool if it was dark ahaha

  • Its like almost any other skiltoy

  • aren't you using a aqua astrojax.. it's not made for rebounding... is it?

  • this is saturn edition...Aquas have water in them.

  • whats the song in the opening??

  • is blue diamond good?

  • Yes, it is..

I think is the better to learn..

Now i'm buying the áqua for day, and saturn :D

  • Ermmm...No I think plus is the best for starters to learn...

  • this is all one big pun.

  • This is by far the most helpful tutorial video I have seen for astro jax. Thanks man. :)

  • kinetics does have some realy good videos i think that kinetics and chrismanics videos are on par with each other. they both teach you some needed information for getting better at jaxing

  • where can i get some plus astrojax

  • I got to admit, the video was not what I had expected. I was looking for pure basic steps, but I still saved this one as to when i get to more tricks and better skill it is a building point. To me, these look harder then the other steps I have learned just based on speed, your demoing these slow as the tricks are yet I learned faster steps. If you speed up the basic steps your doing will they still turn out the same or do they have to be slow? dumb question I know, but this is all new to me

  • No question is dumb if you don't know the answer.

Let me put it this way:

The tricks are slowed down a bit, and work just fine sped up, to a point. Most of them aren't power play type tricks, so there's a bit of a limit as to how quickly you can get in and out.

However, all of the components of the tricks, except for juggles, can be played as fast as you can handle. Juggles are the exception because some juggles are at the mercy of gravity, and you can only get things to fall so fast.

  • @kin3tics This is great video, but in the beggining on 1:05 when you are switching back and forth, are you just catching the 2 in the end ? not the one in the middle?

  • u call those basics!!!!

  • I call those the basic parts to build tricks and combos, yes.

The tricks I used to demonstrate may not be basic, but they are an example of how to use the basic elements (string, rebound, juggle).

    Keep practicing ;)

  • i have satern ones but i want the aqua

  • i just got blue dimonds and i needed this thanx!

  • okay...this will help alot of new ppl...if ur thinking of getting astro jax...u want to get the "plus style" ones. they dont look too cool but they r made of durrable foam so that if u get smacked in the face like i did with v-max(OWWit wont hurt then.hope that helps..l8r.

  • this video is great for begginers

  • wow, what a great video. I bought some blue diamonds last week and haven't stopped playing on them. I can manage switches but not consecutively and would like to step up the tricks a bit but finding all the videos hard to follow. This one is great, I'm gonna be developing the string thing now I think, thanks a lot for the help.

  • i just got mine i got blue diamond, is that good?

  • I've got Saturn, and I can only do the basic tricks yet, but is it better to look for the Plus, the Aqua, or should I stay with my own?

  • I was so excited when I herd you were running a comp and I went to the website looked it all up and got let down.lol

I would love to own my own pair of these but I ain't got the moneys atm but when I can get some I will upload some vids of me riping it up like you do.

I thank you for making these videos because when I have my own they will make it easy to lean and show off in front of my mates.

Anyways man take care and keep that wicked shit up.

  • is the contest still going on?

  • Unfortunately, no. It ended Dec 31st.

    Sorry.

  • lmao its ok

  • this is to hard for me...

  • where can i buy some astrojax i cant find them anywhere??

  • just go to product search for google you'll find one thats where i got mine

  • Or just go to the usastrojax com.

  • that's with a dot in there, too. lol.

  • i just bought mine now how do it have lights is it when is it dark or something else??? plzzz comment back

  • They're called Blue Diamonds.

They have LED circuits in them that you can turn on to make them light :)

  • Perfect vid. As the beginner of aj'ing i can promise u, i'll begin from this video. Kin3tics, ur aj... Aqua? And as for you, from what aj should i begin? Plus?

    Dude, thx for video ;)

  • Plus are good to start with.

I started with V-Max, and got frustrated with sore knuckles.

Aquas are a close second for starting with. They're heavy, so they're slower, and they're kinda squishy, so they don't hurt bad.

  • i love my new aquas they are so much better. =] i started on VMAX but the aquas heaviness make it a bit easier to pull off tricks more slowly when first learning them

  • These things would have been useless if not for your video. Thank you. Now my son finds joy in them.

  • I'm glad the video helped!

I, too, had a struggle early on with Astrojax, and had packed them away for over a year before I really got into it.

  • I've had some astojax since they came out only it was a bit dangerous at first but i was never too good at messing with them. I had lost them and gotten new ones, saturn even, afterwards i kept at it but still needed some instruction. the video helps much, it gives me a better understanding of what im doing

  • Thanks for the comment!

It's good to hear stories from people who are benefiting from this :)

I hope to see some videos of your own in the future!

  • the first trick is SOOOOO a 1.5 mount!

    just kidding

    pretty close though

    it's a yo-yo trick by the way

  • At risk of sounding stupid, I have no clue what you're talking about.

I guess I should try yo-yoing some time...

  • Sweet! Excellent vid, it'll be a really valuable resource. I just got that Trick #1 down. Learning it made me realise just how asymmetrical my skills are, I'm pretty rusty even with a left handed Lolly.

  • I've been working on cleaning up my switch handed tricks a bit.

I'm in the same boat as you, there are definitely a bunch of tricks I can't do cleanly switch.

Thanks for the positive comment :)

  • Best Instructional Ever!! good job, man.

  • Thanks so much for the comment.

I'm hoping others think the same.

Judging by the number of views over the past week, and the relatively small number of people in the AJ community, I'm seeing a pretty good interest.

  • this is a great stuff! really clear and easy to learn from :)

  • Thanks for the feedback :)

I'm glad you think so. If you're the actual MagicThomas, I didn't know that you were still keeping up on this stuff!

Good to see you're still kickin!

  • Not sure why anyone would want to impersonate me, but anyway! Yeah I'm still involved, although I have been busy with career stuff so not much free/fun time these days! Will be doing a review of the aquas...

  • Great video, If astrojax had an official instructional DVD, this is what it'd be like.

  • Thanks.

I'm hoping to do at least one more like this.

    Keep an eye out.
