  • Great video, like always. I am in my second week as well. OB and Adult 1. I think some of my classmates freaked out when they found out I debinded my books. I took days to organize for class and it is paying off. I also shared your link as well as great apps. Good luck this semester and thanks for the videos. Are you in NSNA? I am going to the convention in April, would love to meet you one day! :)

  • I know this doesn't particularly have anything to do with THIS video, but I wanted to tell you I started my program 2 and a half weeks ago, and so far I've used Evernote and PDF expert for in-class ppts and notes, and studying, based on your recommendations and tips and it's amazing how organized it's kept me! Thanks so much.

  • @laceyjayyyy Yay!!

  • I don't know if i told you this, but I had the Videbeck book for Psych too! lol... the CD had great practice tests :p

  • @calmcommo323 I don't think I look at that CD yet, I will now lol

  • :D I start back in 7 weeks... I can't wait.. I quit my job on Monday so I can't focus.. I LOVE THAT YOU ARE IN A GOOD MOOD.. YOU ROCK HUNI :D xxoo

  • @ThirteenHealth Thanks! Good luck when you get back.

  • Yes please do another organization video!

  • @secsisara alright, it's added to the list haha

  • Better yet Julz, I'm thinking I need a whole video dedicated to me. Like a self help for the strange girl on Youtube video "/ First Semester, 33 years Old, did great in the pre-req courses, finished them all before I got in the program. My dad died on 12/20, he had been sick but didn't expect him to go that fast. We are two weeks into the program and my right hand man has decided that she "May" want to drop. Like today she didn't even take the first note because I know she is going to quit! HELP

  • @32nikkimac I'm sorry for your loss. Wow you have stress before more stress lol. I know how it feels to loose your partner in crime. It's an adjustment, but everyone is in this together and you'll make it through. What does your friend have to say about possibly quitting? Is it that nursing isn't for her or that she can't handle the workload? If you figure out why it may help you understand and see things form her perspective.

  • Oh and how about this??? My BFF that started from the beginning of pre-reqs and all with me?? (We are both 33 with half grown kids haven't been in school in 16 years) We busted our tails to make good grades and we even took Anatomy I, II and Micro ALL in the same semester and made A's in all 3 and earned a spot on the Prez list, well guess what she decides to tell me yesterday morning when she got to my house (we ride together) she said "I don't think this is for me anymore" Can I scream now?

  • @32nikkimac Sure go ahead and get it out lol. Maybe she needs more time to figure things out, or maybe she just realizes that nursing really isn't for her. You guys will still be friends. Either way, you have to figure out what you want and realize that this is something new for everyone. Consider it an opportunity to make new friends in your program.

  • Hey how about you do a good ol' Math Validation exam vid for first semester students? Would be awesome! That is the only thing I am scared of so far. Only two chances and have to make a 90 or you fail the whole class? What's up with that?

  • @32nikkimac math is important and your school just wants to make sure that you will be a safe nurse. Your school is going to prepare you and if you need extra help, take advantage of tutoring serves or get help from classmates. Math tests can be stressful, but believe that you can do it and you will.

  • Started my first semester, been two weeks and I am ready to jump off a cliff! I am so overwhelmed!! Taking Fundamentals of Nursing, Pharmacology, and Health Assessment "/ WAY too much stuff to keep up with. I've stayed up till 3 am every night since school started.....I need a coffee maker!

  • @32nikkimac It is a lot but you can do it! Time management was one of the most difficult things for me to get down, but eventually things start working out. AS for sleeping, sometimes you have to know when tell yourself that sleeping is going to be more helpful than staying up.

  • Which app do you use to take notes in class. I know you mentioned PDF export but as far as in class from the board or lectures? Thanks for sharing and I want to wish you an excellent semester.

  • @Sue24301 Thank you! If I'm not using PDF expert I'm using Evernote.

  • I'm actually pumped for this semester too! I know it's gonna be the toughest one yet so I actually started reading before classes started. First time for everything :)

  • @criswithnoh Haha I know how you feel! i actually read the entire chapter for once instead of getting bored halfway through and skimming (of course this psych book is easier to read and far less annoying lol)

  • wow ure so weird!, hahah, naw but great tips!!! what exactly are u studying for? lvn, rn?

  • @epich100 yup i'm way random lol. I'm working towards an RN.

  • gosh I cant wait to start hopefully in the fall of this year, Im happy this semester seems easier for you good luck with everything and you're almost there !!

  • @Honeymkc Haha I guess it only seems easier because I have a better grip on things (it only took 4 semesters lol) Fingers crossed that you get to start in the fall!

  • Is this your last semester? I'm not sure if you've said before in another video. Anyway good luck with your class and clinicals :)

  • @mrskdlady Thanks! This is my second to last semester. If all goes according to plan, I'll graduate in August--and it can't get here soon enough!
