  • those are tips to sound like a NORTH AMERICAN english native speaker. so you're just teaching an 'accent' of a particular english speaking country and not teaching people to speak FLUENT ENGLISH :3

  • @Sarablueunicorn

You are right that I am teaching how to speak like a North American but it is different from teaching pronunciation. Learning how to speak the way I'm teaching is what fluency is about. FLUENT ENGLISH has many components and takes many different types of lessons to master but the problem that I see is that ESL classes are not teaching what I teach so I let students learn from their classes and books while I teach them how to speak more smoothly and work on their accent.

  • @yongmin78 A fluent native british-english speaker will might disagree that's the right way to speak fluently the language but...adopting an accent it's a good way to pratice a foreign language speech..maybe. it's a question of taste ^^

  • by te way, he is a very good teacher or lets say he is a very knowledgable english instructor from which we as esl speaker should learn ,, not ask him stupid question like where he is from? or about his nationality..come on guys who care for that dont we just want to learn english efficently do we?

  • THANKS SO MUCHO FOR YOUR HELP. YOU ARE A GREAT TEACHER.

  • @yongmin78 are you Korean? 용민선생님??

  • Rally thank you so much for your help

  • @MrChongstein chinese??? please get out your potato from the mouth thanks guuaaarrreeyouuy

  • @yongmin78 So, what nation r u from?

  • @yongmin78 What is your ethnic lineage then? :33

  • It's so cool to realize that other teachers share the same vision of fluency!

I always make sure my students are aware of the elements you pointed out on your videos.

    Congrats!

  • where are you from? Your accent is pretty good for a person who seems like coming from China/Japan or something like these.

  • @guelweles I'd guess he's from the US???

  • thanks for sharing

  • COOL!!! Thank you for this video!

  • I think i really enjoy your vid. I'm teaching ESL, and i guess this could be one of the strategies to let the students speak better.

  • thanks a lot for this video, I agree with you , I speak good english but I have difficulty understanding native people when they speak sometimes because of how they pronounce the words or combine them in sentence , I found this very helpful not only on improving the pronunciation but to improve understanding what native people say. if you have more videos plz let me know. Thanks.

  • With all due respect, I think this is unnecessary. Why would anyone like to sound like a native speaker when they are not, and they will probably never get to that point. Some people try to sound exactly like you do and they make themselves a joking matter. What is important is to get your point across. The IMF president speaks English with a heavy French accent, and many other people I know from are the same. Why would they or should they care???

  • When I'm listening to something in english I do worst, sadly. But I watched the video three times and then I understood something and it was very helpfull to me. I guess it's a good tip to improve my listening skill and not just my speaking. So, thank you very much for your job, teacher. You're very good. I realized more difference about fast and slowly speach to try improving my english. I knew something about it, but now I'm sure I have to learn a lot for my listening and speaking.

  • thank u sir, really helpful

  • I like. Where are you from?

  • @csayumi8 I'm sorry but I am on military leave right now so I am not able to put up more videos. I will be able to add more videos in a few weeks though. After February, I will have much more.

  • Thanks ,but there are more important issues to teach, for example, regular and irregular verbs, passive voice, etc.

  • All of those are important but you've missed the purpose of my video. I don't teach regular ESL. I teach people who already speak English but want to speak WELL. I've met so many people who have studied English for years yet have poor pronunciation and fluency. I have developed a system to help these people so they are not stuck at a plateau and in boring ESL classes. Thank you for leaving feedback.

  • @yongmin78 I feel what you say here. This exacly my case. i have been studying engligh almost ten year, and i still have a poorly, bad pronunciation. Gotta keep watching your other video.

  • @yongmin78 You really did well, sir. Actually, this way also helps students who're just starting learning English. Some of my students always come up with some dialogue from a movie they've watched n couldn't figure out what the actors really meant. So I just explained it the way you did, but kinda did it backwards, n it worked.. ;)

  • @yongmin78 you are right sometimes i feel so bored in esl class beacouse i feel as if my teacher would be repeating the same thing alll over again,,,i pretty much know english i can read also but when it comes to have a fluent conversation i just feel stuck and so unconfortable,,,,From Peru,,

  • @phonicsquest Pronunciation is very important, and you should know it, phonics quest

  • Wonderful!!! Just what I was looking for... really...

  • Sorry friend, I don't guess so. It's because the real english is for communication. This video is very helpfull for students who are worried with their communication. I think you'll never learn english very well studying grammar. Good luck anyway.

  • its very very helpful and really Useful to understand the english spoken by native people , even though i know grammer and construct sentence and read very correctly but always found very difficult to understand spoken english in movieS and PEOPLE SPEAKING ENGLISH!! PLEASE UPLOAD MORE VIDEOS. THANKS A LOTT!!
