  • killer tune!

  • Looks like somebody is an Iggy Pop fan. Son of Iggy! Kind of reminds me of "Cold Metal".

  • Buck 65 = Iggy Pop of the 21st Century

Iggy Pop for the win ^_^

  • @DJRoxi I think he was going for the Iggy Pop look on purpose for this one song. I do hope you know that this song is quite different than the bulk of his others. But with DJ in your name I hope it's safe to assume you've heard samples of all the ranges of his talent =) =/

  • I listened to the remix a million times, found the singer intriguing, and am pretty damm suprised to learn that it's Buck 65.

  • Comment removed

  • Buck 65 is literally a crazy artist. Just puttin myself in the future to look back into the present.

  • The bassline sounds like Gay Bar

  • This track would go well in a Need for Speed game.

  • @pippigladstone Not quite, it's only a music video.

  • @pippigladstone god dam chill the fuck out he's just doing a song

  • No one feels like talking about the lyrics? interesting...

I can sense a feeling of distortion among this youtube group that would listen to this guy. He is talking about Illuminati.

  • por favor, pasame el enlace!!!

  • whats with the iggy pop/mick jagger impersonation yo ?

  • @slevels1 I thought the exact same thing, but it works for what he is going for. liekd the abstract of it all beyond the mimic

  • Haha nice, it's Tiny. I never noticed that before

  • Love the harmony at 1:09...

  • I remember when I first heard this song. I could not believe it was Buck 65. He is an amazing artist.

  • good imitation of Iggy Pop

  • @zabazabiak That's what I was thinking when I saw this video. Iggy Pop imitation in both image and vocal style.

  • Does anyone know who the girl is in this video doing backup/harmony?

  • Claire Berrest, Buck's girlfriend at the time I think.

  • @Webbula thank god its not feist. that bitch does everything...... and shes a little retarded and wayyyyy to canadiana folky......

  • @Webbula I thought it was feist, he did some kind of dance vid with her

  • @supernautistaken nevermind it was him in her video for "one evening"

  • Im at home listening to this and my mates are listening to soulja boy

  • Well, my friend, that makes you far superior in every way ;)

  • thanks dude!!!!

  • Well it's easy to just go with what's popular, especially if your mates are into it.

Soulja Boy's just uninspiring cack, I don't get what everyone else gets from that guys music.

  • @Webbula Have you seen his shirt!

  • @Webbula SOldierboy Weed WOowoo Why you cranking wrankgi OOH

Soldier boy is the shit homie, fuck yo ass

  • @zkyggen Sure he is.

  • @zkyggen He's a lyrical genius.

  • oh my.. this used to be my ring tone forever!!

  • Am I crazy or is that Seth Rogen on 0:33 ?

  • lol

  • oh man...that's really tough to say.

  • @lubricaid uhhhh man it does look like Seth Rogen lol

  • hhahahah rush me out

  • No its not

  • "Black leather wild,wild animal"

    LOL...great stuff!

  • it's gay with out the mskfrt rock remix

  • @moviebuddy14 i think its got its own thing going here. although mstrkrfts is aFUCKINGmazing.

  • Eat your heart out Iggy Pop!

  • his voice is so goddamn sexy.

  • No boundaries. He goes where ever it takes him.

  • the guys raw. i love music ............

  • his dancing remindes me of the red hot chili peppers lead singer

  • nah, the previous guy has it better with the iggy comparison.

  • Yupp.

  • his dancing reminds me of iggy pop. lol Its a good thing.

  • There is a big difference between rap and hip hop. Its like calling America Canada. Buck is not rap, hes been in the game longer than most and a lot of his stuff is and was considered underground. Hes a poet. Rappers like T pain and R kelly just perpetuate the negative stipulations of all the wrong things. Ignorance is a widespread disease spread through the eardrums. Unfortunately most people are to weak and think there is any worth in it.

  • But at the same time, you can't just say rap isn't hip-hop because of lyrical content and lack of sampling (or whatever) in the beats, because it's one of the four elements. But by that extension you could say the same thing about turntablism.

  • I don't know, this could be debated for hours with no conclusion, I just love hip-hop, it represents creativity to me and Buck is a fine example of someone who saw himself being pigeon holed and decided he didn't want to make what most people would consider hip-hop, but instead made his own brand that represented him and that's why I think he's one of the most important artists of today.

  • Hip-Hop isn't about the color of your skin or how much money you have, it's about skill, peace and fun.

Hip-Hop came about to abolish gang violence and culture, it's just a shame a lot of people don't realize it.

  • These comments are in the wrong order if you can't make sense of them :S

  • skill peace and fun.

    amazing mantra!

  • Rap is an element of hip hop. There are other elements.

  • he's just awesome

  • This is my favorite song from him... so catchy!!!

  • ı heard thıs song and devıls eyes fırst and ı saıd fuck ı love thıs genre of musıc then ı wıkıpedıaed hım and ıt saıd he was a rapper.. ı couldnt belıeve ıt! ı dont lıke rap but hıs other stuff ıs pretty good a gotta admıt.. ıts the whole gangster thıng about rap that ı fuckın hate...

  • Same here, I steer clear of all that, listen to the rap that was around before all that, it was innovative and had great rhythms, you have to try and see hip-hop and rap as two seperate entities.

  • Then you're probably a Mos def fan?

  • Not really, he's OK.

  • u fail. Mos def is above average easily.

  • I'm not disputing that, just haven't paid much attention to him. 'Black on Both Sides' is a good album, I've got 'The New Danger' but I haven't listened to it yet.

  • Yeah a lot of people are turned off by the genre word 'rap' because they think of offensive music and stuff they can't relate to. Open your minds and ears! I try to explain this to many people. I don't like rap either but I love what he does and Atmosphere is good too =D

  • Kind of a neat song. A master of rhyming creating a song with not a single rhyme in it.

  • he rhymes the baby and maybe at the beggining of the song.. i know stupid comment but couldnt resist

  • Comment removed

  • i like buck 65 but i dont get the point of this song, its still awesome though :)

  • man can he rock leather pants.

  • Does anybody else think this guy sounds like lemon demon?

  • MSTRKRFT rock remix is so gooood

  • @lazybennett im consused .... is this the original ?? MSTRKRFT made a killer remix with this track

  • @Bozzy83 Yeah it is

  • @lazybennett Dance Remix soooo much better

  • damn that's soooo freshhh! amazing! i thought there's nothing interesting happening on hiphop scene!

  • Too bad its like 5 years old now...But still amazing

  • 2005...thats right...i still cant believe how i managed to miss him out...im very impressed how the vinyl version of his newest album is published tho...good piece of work from the musical point of view as well as graphical...

  • @Shenwolf why is it too bad its 5 years old? Are you an idiot?

  • dude, this guy has been making amazing music forever....he only put out like 8+ albums before this one....just no catchy videos till now.....honestly I like the older stuff better...

  • Sure he is, if YOU say so.

  • just cuz you wish he was tay zonday

  • baaaaaaaabyy

  • Baby , there is something wrong with you maybe .

  • que acaso este puto se cree iggy pop? ek remix de MSTRKRFT le da mil vueltas al original.

  • best song ever!!

  • I really want to paint a painting that goes with this song but I want to put in the mutantes and phantomas but I am not sure what to actully paint I looked them up and got mutantes as some rock group and phantomas as some Japanese Superhero. Is this was he is singing about or something else. It might be a really stupid question but i want to make sure. So if anyone knows can you please tell me?

  • im sure he just means mutants and phantoms, but yea this song has also inspired me to paint...im thinking of taking a lust approach, probably illustrate the part where he says "baby, you know we cant be stopped, come here and kiss my neck" and sorta incorporate pop-art into it all

  • I'm pretty sure "mutantes" and "phantomas" are terms used in western films and stuff like that.

    I could be wrong.

  • this isn't really hip hop.

    its some kinda fusion music.

    weird but catchy.

  • Anybody know who the female singer is? She looks like Feist.

Buck was in Feist's One Evening video.

  • She's his Parisian fiancee, Claire Berest.

At least she was his fiancee at the time, I don't know if they've married or split.

  • This video is fucking bizarre!

  • I will second that Crimes...

  • Sick song, sweet vid.

I was at the 2006 Juno's when he rapped the entire opening sequence, introducing the whole line-up for the night... I almost shat my pants. Does anyone have that on video? I had no idea who he was up until that point.

  • Damn, when did his music get so dancy? I looooved the Sebutones. Buck's Vertex, Talkin' Honky Blues, and Square are three of my all time favorite independent albums...but I don't know if I care for his newer stuff. Not trying to come on here and instigate, I am a fan...but does anything on Situation sound like older Buck 65? I think Square was his last album that could be considered hip-hop. Even that raises some eyebrows.

  • I see your point but I think Buck is moving into a new sound of hip-hop that's infused with folk. I think Situation is actually more hip-hop than Secret House Against the World especially with a track like Benz.

  • Either way you look at it, we have to respect his artistry and the fact that it's very easy to just recycle your last album, I'm just greatful he's moving on and making music that's his and not what he thinks people want to hear.

  • this has absolutly nothing to do with hip hop......and im sure if you ask buck he will say the say thing.

  • I'm new to Buck 65 and I like him. I want to like him, but here his lyrics are pretentious. He says, "we're not the beautiful people," but in fact he is very attractive, has lead a decent life and has had success. Here he is pretending to be from a sub-culture that he does not belong to or does he?

I'd like to hear others comment about this who know more about Buck 65 than I. He's very creative, but his lyrics ride a fine line between narcissistic randomness and meaning.

  • I think you're reading into it a bit too much, Buck's very metaphorical and original in his style because he's a real artist. When he says "we're not the beautiful people" it's for you to interpret what that means in the same way you interpret what you see in a painting.

A friend of mine once described him as "he paints pictures with words". If you can understand that.

  • he's talking about his audience. people who might be listening to the song.

  • the wiki says he is like Beck...

    and that seems true.

  • Only this song. For the most part he is completely separate from Beck.

  • damn even all this guy's low budget videos phuck'n rock not 2 mention lyrics and don't forget that rock'n ass mic jagger impersionation lol

  • actually, he seems to be channeling Iggy Pop in this video, not Mic.

  • making a song like someone else isnt a bad thing at all... seeing as pretty much every band on this planet bases themselves on someone else

    and it must be said

    buck does it VERY well!

    WE LOVE YOU BUCK!

  • ye it's defntly buck inspired by iggy :P

it's got the sound and he's obvs shirtless = iggy haha!

    love buck man

  • He's acting either like lux interior or iggy pop

  • best fucking song ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • remix by MSTRKRFT is better

  • yeah the rock one is really good.

  • I remember they played this on Much Music once. On top of that, I"m pretty sure it was because Buck was the show that day..

  • Sounds like Iggy Pop. I like it.

  • i disagree, I like the fact that his music is like poetry, all the songs on "this right here is" are good.. my favourite being "Pants on fire" and i really like "way back when" and a few other songs off his new CD.. but i do agree in the sense that he has made some bad songs.. cop shades is fuckin horrible..

  • It's longer enough to kick you out!

  • this song is genius, i wish it was longer though!

  • This dude is fuckin' out there.

  • Yeah, very Iggy pop.

  • this guys alrite

  • Man I've been a fan of buck since his language arts and 1200 hobos, I just think he went to France and got on a weird kick for secret house. It won't stop me from buying everyone of his cds, in fact his new one "the situation" is the shit. lighten up dickface.

  • A retard who watches videos just to insult them.

  • Flowerphone is a homophobe, and probably because they are homosexuals in hiding :)

  • this song soooo reminds me of iggy pop

  • This Song Is So Trip.

    I Love It...Its Sexeh. xD

  • Not the best but.Its buck style what els do you expect?

  • the funny thing is these r awsome lyrics so ........ random

  • Strangely sexy.

  • i like the mstrkrft remix

  • It's that French chick he met in Paris that's to blame for this song. Can someone say Yoko Ono?

  • i cant believe alot of people hate this song. hes just exploring other musical territory with this song, and it turned out cool. wouldnt you hate it if he put out the same album with the same stlye of song everytime?

  • Greenan's right. This song and this album were an inevitability for someone with such avante garde musical and lyrical capabilities. And you clearly don't know too much about your musical history,Ehren, if you're comparing this female to Yoko.

  • This is soooooo strange! I'm a classical cellist and i like this! AHHHHHHH KILL ME!

  • Alot of buck fans dont like this song BUT I LOVE IT

  • word. is that supposed to make me laugh as much as it does?

  • wat a strange song lol. im all about the buck but man i cant get into the groove of this song

  • I am hearing Iggy

  • its so cool the best/coolest/most original musician in the world comes from my home province. (along with many many other greats i should mention)

  • Fantastic job Rich! Yonge street and Sam's makes a good statement. Iggy Pop. All good. Kep it up!

  • i like buck 65 but this isnt his greatest song i have to admit. i think a good one is roses and blujays personaly

  • This is nothing like the radio version, this is like some grungy techno, the radio version is wicked rok

  • i live in his neighborhood

  • Gawddd what a cutie. I talked to him after a show last week...didn't even realize it was him until I looked up halfway through the conversation. Ha, oops.

  • I think thats his wife as back-up vocals in the video

  • I saw/heard of Buck 65 for the first time Friday night at a show with Sage Francis and Buddy Wakefield, he is now one of my new favorites.

  • Actualy it, is "clear is the new black"

    not wired

  • This is my utlimate fav buck 65 song evah...dont know what to say about the vid though... kinda almost demonic...but that makes it kool

  • saw buck 65 in edinburgh, was a very good night

  • I wish he would show the drummer/bassist etc.

and it is definitely "clear is the new black"

  • when i saw him live it was just him. he had all these crazy synthesizers and stuff and he had it all prerecorded he just sang.

  • "weird" is the new black. /roll

  • "clear is the new black" -not wired

  • AMAZING SONG AND VIDEO

  • luv da band BUCK 65!

  • Awesome, love this track..."queer is the new black" hahaha

  • it's "clear is the new black"

  • Omg,how stupid am i lol Thanks for clearing that up,feel all silly now :P

  • that would have been a cooler line though...

  • Haha yeah, cos it kinda fits with this whole attitude of its now fashionable to be gay or bi lol

  • keep putting labels on things and you will never see them for what they really are.

  • its actually "weird is the new black"

  • it clear is the new black

  • Yeah, innit, fuck groupies!

the MUSIC is good! who cares what he looks like?

  • you chicks make me sick (51K - lol funny) , nice vid.. i like that creepy dude wanderin thru, and the red adds to it too
